I like the idea of Apollo falling for the murderer, what about this idea for the first case - maybe Minuki/Apollo switch bodies or something so someone on the sidelines (Phoenix?) has to explain to Minuki (in Apollo's body) what to do. Apologies if that has already been mentioned.

One criticism I have about this: Morgan's in prison for being an accomplice in Dr. Grey's Murder. I would assume that she'd be sentenced to ~10-20 years in jail for that. So surely she's still in prison 8/9 years later (unless she somehow escapes)?
Having Apollo face Franny and her whip would be awesome though.
For the first case... maybe Apollo had some sort of accident or something to deal with and couldn't work for a while, and when he comes back in court, he needs a few refreshers. I vote for a Kristoph flashback though.
Honestly, it just hit me right now. In the first three games, we never see Phoenix in front of us talking (well, there was that scene before Mia's first case, but that doesn't count), but now he's right there with a whole set of talking sprites. Feels kind of weird now that I think about it, we used to only see him physically in court.

The only case we can accurately speculate on is the opening tutorial case, since they all follow a certain formula. Always somebody at their first case so they can be clueless and their mentor give them easy advice..
Only exception was when Phoenix got amnesia and so it was sort of like it was his first case. The amnesia was clever but it would not be clever a second time so I doubt they'll be desperate enough to repeat it.
We already had the first cases of Phoenix, Apollo, and Mia. It's not going to be Apollo again, and I doubt Klavier or Edgeworth will suddenly switch to defense attorneys. Nobody wants to play as Kristoph. I think Trucy's too young to be a lawyer yet.
Phoenix in his first case after taking the bar exam again is possible, but surely he hasn't forgotten everything over the last 7 years so it will be bad to depict him as a n00b. Also, if the case stars Phoenix, it has to have Apollo in it to avoid stealing the new 'main' character's thunder right from the first pixel. Apollo acting as Phoenix's 'mentor' in the trial is possible but a bit mean, isn't it really the other way around? Poor Phoenix should get to show his well earned superiority.
That's why.. well it's cliche, but I wouldn't be surprised if they pull a Phoenix defending Apollo as the opening case and Phoenix's return case. [assuming they let the poor guy get rebarred at all, otherwise I suppose there'll be some weird incident obstructing Apollo in the first case. Any other ideas?]
Who will be his helper? Trucy we assume. Who would I want to see as his helper. Maya or Edgeworth!
