And by then, Phoenix had already seen the articles about Edgeworth. It was *before* Mia defended Phoenix that he had made his decision to chase Edgeworth through the court system. Up until he heard that Edgeworth was "in trouble" he was in the arts college.
That doesn't mean Phoenix is in love, but I don't think you can stress enough just how extreme it is to change your entire career for the sake of a friend you haven't seen since fourth grade. Even getting a girlfriend for the first time didn't distract Phoenix from his law goal.
I mean...I would never try to arguet that Takumi meant for Phoenix to be canonly gay. I just don't think that's the case. But it doesn't seem like it would take too much of a push, either.

I was originally going to translate this, but about halfway through scanning and editing, I thought "why bother, it's basically just porn", and sort of hilarious porn at that. (Let's just say that things that sound erotic in Japanese are considerably less so in English.)
If you're wondering why it gets a little angsty in the end, it's because Phoenix understands that Edgeworth is going to have to go overseas again soon, meaning this sort of carefree time they have together that he loves so much is fleeting, for now.

Yes, Larry could be hiding his attraction to men through overcompensating with the ladies, but if you look at his attitude even when he tries to "give up women", you see he's not successful, which indicates to me that his attraction to them is genuine. If you wanted to write a fanfic where Larry is gay, you could certainly work with the outline given, but as a stance on characterization itself, I think it's not terribly supported.

Which incidents are you thinking of when you refer to this? The only times I remember him acting weird was around Maya, and that would probably because not everyone knows how to handle her. Heck, if I met her IRL I probably wouldn't know how to react to a lot of things she does/says either. But at the top of my head, he seems to act "normally" around Franziska, Adrian, Mia, the witnesses, etc. (minus Oldbag.. for obvious reasons)
