Gerkuman, forget about it. I'm done here. That's what I hate about my generosity. I can spend so many hours doing something, and when someone else turns up, I get ditched. There is no way MechaBowser could have his case maker ready with so many features. Thanks for the Orchestral tracks, and I even got a version of GS2's Case Finished music done as an orchestral piece. But it's the actual tool we should have been worried about.

It doesn't matter now. There are some things MechaBowser will never get finished. I was going to pay bespoke developers for a formatted text tool that would support every text option PW does. I was going to pay near £150. Yes, you heard right. But what is it worth? Nothing here. Fan games/programs are now officially a waste of time to me. I should have known this is in the first place.

I can see MechaBowser has potential, but how do we know the screenshots he's produced aren't just forms with no programming? I believe he can do it, but if he gives up, and you end up with no case maker, you've got yourselves to blame.

Jesus, Shaun. You really love the random melodrama don't you? Yes, we're waiting for this one but we're waiting for yours too. Don't be so goddamn emo bout it. I know that personally would download both of them and compare. Don't be so paranoid, dude.

Hey, I never said ANYTHING. But really Shaun, you can't just give up. It's not like nobody care anymore. Because I care. There needs to be variety so that we can see what differences there are in the opinions of the makers of the case makers. Please don't stop. I think you can really get somewhere with your case maker! *suddenly, a crowd starts chanting "Shaun! Shaun! Shaun!"* See? They want you to keep working on it. That's because they want to make cases. Not just any cases, but Phoenix Write-made cases. *crowd keeps chanting*

*thought sequence ends* "... There's no way that'd motivate him."

Hold it!

It's not the best monday of your life or mine yet :3 When it comes out, that statement will be accurate.

Objection

It's the best Monday of my life because it's officially coming, not because it's here (which it isn't).

I'm not being 'emo', as you put it. Don't take this as a personal attack, MechaBowser - I admire your progress, but I don't think a few screenshots of some forms warrant everyone going "OMG OMG, BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!1"

Darzie, there's nothing melodramatic about it. Not from your point of view, anyway. When you start making your own case maker, you'll see. Until then, well, never mind. I'm not really mad, or anything. I just don't see much point in continuing. MechaBowser is obviously going to get his out first...

Everyone will start using his case maker, and the format the cases are saved in will be vastly different from mine. So, even if my engine is better, as people will already be using his case maker by then, and they'll be familiar with it, they'll choose his. I guarantee it. Don't think I'm really pissed off about this. Yes, my last post was a bit over the top, but I just find it strange. As soon as I first released media of my case maker, everyone else came out from the shadows. There must have been at least four others. They all appear to have given up... except MechaBowser.

Edit: That was for DarzieP mainly. Only just seen the posts after. Give me a moment to edit this...

Thanks for trying, with the imaginary crowd and all. I'm not devastated about this. The truth is in the comments above, in this same post. There'll be different formats for the cases, and as MechaBowser's will come first, they'll choose his. Honestly, I really want to do this, but it could be all for nothing. I don't think anyone cares about possible future Pocket PC support either, because nobody has one. Detective Gumshoe I do feel guilty doing this in MechaBowser's thread. I have nothing against him and I think he's doing a good job. He'd be a good competitor. But my point remains true.

I concede that there's a lot of "woot this is the best day of my life comments". But I couldn't care less which comes out first really. There's two case makers, probably a pile of differences between them, both have superiorities over the other or leaving the other in the dust altogether.

If you react that way to a little competition, peeps will be a little inclined to not use your product of spite. Maybe if you commented on progress more?

Just because someone else gets theirs out first is no basis for not continuing yours. Yours is taking longer to make, which means you're obviously putting a lot of work into it, and that means the prospects of yours being better than his are increased.

Again, just because people are "familiar" with something doesn't mean they won't accept change. Like Garry's Mod. For a while, some people moaned about the new garry's mod lacking this, that or the other. However, most people eventually learned to accept it, and enjoyed the program greatly. Anyone who refuses to try your new program on the basis that they're used to Mechabowser's is either A) Immature, or B) working on a case on Mechabowser's at the moment, and will most likely check out yours when they're done.

I'll think about it... It's not been easy to get work done lately, you see. I was working forty hours a week, but I was fired on Friday. Sadshoe So I'll have plenty of time to work on it now. Before anyone jokes about how I was fired, it was for reasons you couldn't imagine. It wasn't my fault at all. But hey, maybe it was a sign? "Work on Phoenix Write more."

All I ask is for people to vote here: http://www.ilovepolls.com/showpoll.php? ... &type=link If it seems people will be willing to give all case makers a fair try-out, I may continue.

Edit: ChazFox, point B is exactly what I mean. People will probably be working on big case projects with MechaBowser's.

You're right, you have a justification for not having been able to complete a case creator before MechaBowser (your 40 hour a week job) and now that you're, umm, unemployed, you have lots of time to work on the case creator for everyone to try out (don't forget to live your life too, though ^_^). I've voiced my opinion in your poll ^^

Thanks ChazFox. I'll wait for the poll results and make up my mind from that. One of my main problems is, not knowing exactly what people want in the case creator. I was hoping to implement absolutely everything shown in GS1/GS2 (maybe except the 3D models in Phoenix Wright's final case). If anyone wants to suggest anything, add me on Messenger: shauncollier06@googlemail.com

If I'm going to do this, I want to do it fairly. Well, this is MechaBowser's thread, so if you have a question for me, it'd probably be best to PM it. Otherwise, please just vote - check the poll link I posted.

My condolences for your firing, Shaun.

It's no lie - I'm going to try out MechaBowser's case maker (if it's released).
I can kind of see your point, Shaun, (about MechaBowser's coming out first) but the fact I'll try out this one leaves no basis for the fact that I wouldn't try out Phoenix Write.
Like I how I voted in the poll; I'll try out both and use which one I prefer.

Oh, and so far it seems Shaun's has more features. MechaBowser, will the one that will be released today be the final build, or will you keep working on it? Also, if one were to start a case on this one, and you make like a 2.5, will that project started on the older version be able to launched on the newer version?

Shaun, I've added you to MSN. Not that I go on much, but meh - hopefulley I can help you out with something. Phoenix

I just hope there is a penalty meter system for the court, and other times you get something else wrong. Otherwise, it would not complete the engine. Judge

In my opinion, it's not an Ace Attorney game without a penalty system. I noticed one of the old versions of Trial maker lacked this. There would be no such thing as a wrong answer, if there's an infinite number of wrong guesses. Godot

Anyways, I wonder if Croik would announce the news of any release of a PW trial maker. I see quite a few PW fan games being made around here. Yanni Yogi
