What context do you think the writers intended by them meeting again?
After Phoenix dies, in the afterlife? [Nooooo]
In some future extra-special trial if GS4 hadn't happened? Though she has 'nothing more to teach him'.
Appearing at some family even involving Maya et al?

What the reason ever was, it was one of the saddest moments in game. I was always waiting for Mia to appear during trials :D

I was thinking that same thing. And in a way she is still around through the plant Charlie. Every time you check the plant in the ofice Phoenix says something about Mia.

I guess what I thought about Mia saying that was that they'd meet in the afterlife, when it was Phoenix's time. :)
