I've been actually curious/wondering about this. When Capcom finally releases PW3 Trials & Tribulations, and we rip the PW3 DS specific sprites for CR's sprites/animations page, would CR keep the Japanese sprites in tact, while adding the DS sprites? Or would CR just remove the entire Japanese set of Young Phoenix and replacing them with the US ones?
The reason being is that the Japanese version has 'Ryu' on the shirt, while the US sprites will have the 'P' on the shirt. I would think it would make sense to keep both sprite versions available on the site, when this time comes. In fact, when we get the US sprites, we could probably do some edits to the current GBA Japanese version sprites to make it fit/look as if it was redone for the DS version. Unless Capcom of Japan decides to port the 3rd game to the DS (which is probably not likely, considering they're up to GS4 now), then there would be no editing involved, just re-ripping to get DS sized sprites.

They will probably keep both of them. I mean, they only changed the sprites that had minor changes from the GBA to the DS, such as size, since young phoenix has a big difference, they will probably keep both imo.

I agree with sonictails. They'll probably make one section for the japanese version and one for the ds. I dont think they'd trash all those sprites that they took forever to rip.

I'd say to just replace then, or just put them together on one sprite sheet. The simpler, the better.

Yea, that's what I was thinking. They should keep both sets, since they are a big difference between the two, and not just size matters.

It doesn't matter if it's one sheet or two sheets as long as their both NDS sized.

Hm, I guess we've never had this problem before. The character sprites have never been different from English to Japanese...

I'll probably end up putting them all on the same sprite sheet.

I dare say, have it in a diffrent sheet would be a lot less hassle.

I'll need to rip all of the sprites anyway.
