Harharhar, I've completed Pokemon Ranger in all its entirety, and i've gotten the Egg! now, all i need to do is get enough money to buy either diamond or pearl, or get both somehow! then, i'll be able to start off with a Manaphy, which i can breed to make that other little thing it makes. D: mwaha.

Whooooooooooooooooooop!

I bought Pearl version just today! You know, this is the first time I've ever bought a game on launch day. Even though I should be writing a movie script I can't wait to start playing! Redd White

EDIT:

Pokemon: Chimchar
Name: Gary
Rival: Adrian

Just got my Pokemon and trying to get to Sandgem Town. Here are my first impressions:

-The graphics are a big welcome from the previous games
-The layout of the scenery and landscape is also very homely
-The game is better played without first using a strategy guide (can attest to this)

And, that's about it.

Hi! I've largely stepped back from C-R due to life stuff. Please contact one of the other staff members for help!

I bought Pokemon Diamond! Woo, right now I'm heading to some forest after completing the first gym.

Name: AUREZAI (Dawn)
Starter: Piplup
"Best friend"/Rival: EMERU

Dude, your so-called friend who's "tight" with you is a prick. I mean, best friends don't run off leaving you alone to go off to an adventure and when you finally meet him he's all "ZOMGGOTTAGETTOTHENEXTGYM!11" The main character really picked a crappy best friend XDDD

Your rival Lucas/Dawn is like... nice. Wow.

They just need to stop making the first gym leader a Rock-type specialist. It's been that way for 3 of the 4 generations. Speaking of which, I just beat the first gym leader. Monferno pwned that wussy Cranidos.

They could also stop pussifying Rock Pokémon in the same way they stopped the uselessness of Fight-types - by making GOOD Pokémon or GOOD cross-types.

getting my diamond tomorrow! i can't wait! D:

in other news, though, i was wondering something. do you think the Pokemon Team would ever decide that they've made all of the areas they can and all of the pokemon they could without wasting their ideas, and then they would go and make a pokemon game where you explore the entire world of pokemon all in one game system? o.o or would that be too huge to complete? of course, it won't be the same story. it would be set later on, with a new crime group that spans the world involved or something....

... just a thought.

Just an impromptu poll, but would you all like a stickied topic for friends code posting? If I get more than 5 answers of 'yes' I'll look into getting it up, since I'm sure more people will be getting Pokemon (or other Wifi stuff) and wanting to play with each other.

I bought my copy on Sunday. I tried for a good natured Turtwig a couple of times and then decided to just keep what ever I got because I was annoyed. I think I'm going to beat the game and then try to build a decently natured/ev'd team after that.

Starter: Turtwig (Fro)
Character: PICKENS
Rival: MattLow

Team after 3rd Gym:
lvl 24 Turtwig evolution
lvl 30 Starly evolution
lvl 28 Bidoof evolution
lvl 23 Kadabra
lvl 22 Skorupi (a friend of mine from another forum said he had caught a lot and he just went ahead and traded me one)
random lvl 15 Meditite

I'm going to Answer "Yes" to the idea of a Sticked Friend Code Thread.

Does anyone want to help me evolve my Kadabra into a Alakazam? You Know, I'll trade it over and it will evolve then trade back. It would great if you have one you need to evolve too! Pearl

I don't know whether to take that as serious or sarcastic. For my sake I hope you're joking. You know what I mean when I say 'beat the game'. It's one of the most commonly used terms ever.

Meh, even if you want to have ze perfect team. You don't HAVE to battle over Wi-Fi. You can use it for trades (or if you have a pokemon that requires a trade to evolve it, for your team) amongst other things.

I haven't had much experience with competetive play so I want to try and get myself prepped up as much as possible... i.e., figure out strategies, which Pokemon own above all else, etc.

Still, I just don't feel like bothering with Wi-Fi at the moment.

to 'beat the game' generally means that you've completed story mode and all, but to 'complete the game' would be to find everything and do every side quest and such. for clarification.

Has anyone else tired out the Gobla Trading System? I been using it all day and its kinda fun not know exactly you'll be getting in the trade.

I started off with Pachirisu which I got a Shiny Male Combee for which I then used to get Prinplup which I then trade for a Japanese Chimchar. And I'm trying to trade a Buneary for a Turtwig right now.

It depends on what you want to do with a Pokemon. Like if you had an Alakazam with a Nature that cut Special Attack to boost Attack, it would be a bad Nature for Alakazam, but a good one for someone who relies on Physical Attacks like Hariyama. I don't necessarily remember what a lot of the Natures do, so I look it up online. I remember one time in Red where I went for days on end looking for a Modest Ghastly and didn't catch a single freaking one.

also, on that topic of natures, it seems you can upgrade your poketech at certain places if you show someone a pokemon with a certain nature. i was looking over the guide book at borders today, and i recall one of the natures as 'quirky.' the other few I'm not sure about, though. experiment, i suppose, but in previous games I've never bothered with natures.

Am I the only one who thinks that there is too many returning Pokemon in Diamond and Pearl?

I understand that most have gotten new evolutions or are only in to promote the whole new way to trade. But almost every other Pokemon I have seen so far is 1st to 3rd Generation. Seriously, They could have left out some out treade evolutions and make some new one.

Also, Does anyone have a JigglyPuff their willing to trade?

When the last thing I have to worry about is my Pokémon's nature, I'll start worrying about those.

I LIKE the returning Pokémon. D/P really feels like a new start in the series, and the older generation pokemon help for us old farts that only played Red/Blue before and picked this up because of Wi-Fi.
