Now, this RP won't dive into the craziness. No superpowers AT ALL until the event that causes the powers to come about. In other words, we'll RP the prelude, then the powers come in. Then we will have the hero/villian/neutral/whatever split. When we get to that point, I'll rework this post to reflect new info.))
She writhed on her bed, in the hospital. Her stomach sliced itself open, as did one lung. This new virus was mutating to stop what it had already done to her. In exchange, it ripped her apart. Her body finally gave up, and allowed the virus to cut her to ribbons.

Lily catched the flying newspaper as she walked through the empty streets. Removing a few soaked locks from her face, she took a look at the first notice she found.
"Patient is found ripped to shreds in Hospital's bed" She read out loud "Police might suspect its a new kind of virus..." She blinked a few times "A new kind of virus? How can they blame a virus and not the Dr or the nurses?...man..." She wondered.
Before long, the newspaper flew from her hand as fast as it had come.

::Resting in his hospital bed, Justin can't wasn't sure if what he in that hospital bed was real. It seemed that everyone was talking about and the hospital wasn't taking it to well. His roommate, his best friend in the hospital was checked out because of fear of this incident. What a depressing room it was now.::

Lily kept walking, wondering about the newspaper, when she found herself passing right in front of a hospital. There seemed to be a lot of commotion, people trying to get into the building, kids crying...Then she recognized the name of the hospital.
"It was here..." She muttered. "The patient..." She looked up a window in the building and noticed a patient. He seemed calm, but depressed. "Hey!" She waved and jumped, trying to get the patient attention.
The crowd was getting bigger, and the space to jump and wave a hand...smaller.

Turning around, she noticed the newspaper she catched -and lost- a while ago laying in the ground. Picking it again, she directed the view to a sentence in particular. "This virus seems to be originated in the deeps of the person, slowly tearing it apart. The only place its currently located oficially its the..." She trailed off as she readed the place's name. Turning, she directed a sad glance at the window, where the boy wasn't anymore.

The thing with a virus is that if it goes airborne, more people can get it. In fact, the deadly virus did go airborne - but only claimed one more victim. He was working in a nuclear plant. He caused an explosion in his writhing and pain, setting things on fire with his lighter (he'd been lighting a cigarette at the time). The explosion destoryed the entire plant. A giant gas-mushroom appeared where the plant used to be. A shockwave of toxic chemicals was emitted from it. Most animals died. And worstly, the wave went over the entire city - no matter how far away it was.

Stumbling backwards, she tried to find support on someone, something, anything. She didn't have time to react when a guy pushed her off, sending her directly into the ground, head fist.
"Augh..." She sobbed as the blood pured from the wound. "Help me..." She muttered, laying there on the ground.
She didn't want to get up anymore. Lifting her eyes to the air, she noticed a huge mushroom of smoke.
"that's...!!" she managed to breath out "What the heck its that?" she added mentally.

Josef Hawke saw the cloud. he was far away enough for a 20 second call. He hit a number on his phone, and speed-dialed a number.
"Sero. Look out the window. Be ready for it." he said, running towards the basement. The basement had two rooms - the generic-basement, and a rather curious 'soft room'. The room was designed to allow up to three people comfort, and protection. The room was covered in things that would both support weight, and act as shock-absorbers. In the house they were in, there were three people. Not related to each other, other then by trade. The other two, Yuki Raven and Set Sero (the man he'd been talking to), also came down into the basement, and into the room. They locked the steel door, and sat down on the floor, agaist the walls. Time to wait it out.
The gas wave ripped the first building it met apart. It was just blown to pieces. However, the gas quickly lost that velocity, but was still going fast enough to hurl cars several metres. However, the first person it reached was blown TOWARDS the cloud, and into the full force of the gas. He was burnt to a crisp, but the wave lost it's heat also. But people still went inwards.

Standing as quiclky as she could, she started running with the crowd -which recently decided to inverse its course and run AWAY from the cloud- but couldn't help but stop at the Hospital. The poor guy was still there. Then she turned to the cloud, which wasn't too far away now. She felt the heat in her cheeks, almost draining any tears that might've escaped.
"...what should i do..." She stood there, wondering, her eyes fixed on the hospital's door.
She couldn't just leave him there...and run away like everyone...could she?

"Wha! What happened?" He checked himself over for injuries, but found nothing. He tried standing, but as he applied preesure to his right leg, he collapsed in a fit of pain. "Graaaah! Ah... I see...." He crawled over towards an abandoned wheelchair, sat himself down, and looked around the area.
"Strange... I would've thought more people would be around in a Hospital." True enough the room was empty, but some sort of commotion seemed to be occuring outside. He wheeled himself over to the window, to see a hysterical crowd far below, and a large Mushroom cloud in the distance.
".....Oh....... Well that sure can't be good."

Sand, kicked up by the explosion, entered her eyes and blinded her for a brief moment. She felt her way around, running straight forward. She bumped into the glass doors of the Hospital.
"HELP!!!' she screamed, banging at the doors. But the gas exploded onto her back and pushed her through the door, shattering it. She looked up as she was fulng on to a glass covered floor.
'"Help...please..." she muttered as her vision finally faded.

Cady woke up to the sound of screaming outside. Groggily, she rolled out of bed and walked to the kitchen, grabbing a banana out of the refrigerator. She munched it thoughtfully as she made her way to the window. Outside, there were droves of screaming people running away from... something. Wait, was that a mushroom cloud in the distance? That would certainly explain it.
Huh... she thought, I've been having a lot of these dreams lately.
Cady took another bite of her banana as she watched the cloud get closer and closer. Suddenly, the window blew in, assaulting her with a very real blast of heat and tiny shards of glass. The world tilted sideways and faded to black.

Those enveloped by the cloud were thrown inwards, being carried closer to it's heart. The closer they got to it, the more wind there was. The cloud had stopped ensaring people - now, people were being thrown away from it. The people already in the cloud were caught up in a suddeen gust of wind. That gust of wind shot them high into the air, where they were piushed again. Then another. Then another. In fact, it carried them quite far. Into a desert, actually.
Sero woke up. There were two peopl eiehter side of him - Raven and Hawke. This was to be expected. They were stirring from their sleep, and Sero was checking were they were. Inside a large desert... He didn't bother to count the people. There were far too many. He woke both of his accomplices up, then checked what had happened. Quite a lot. The biggest problem was...
His hand was turning into a curious dark mist.

Nat felt a blistering heat, one he wasn't used to. He quickly realised three important facts. First, he wasn't in a hospital, second, he wasn't in a wheelchair, third, he wasn't dead.
He opened his eyes, only to be greeted by bright sunlight, "Argg.." He hissed as he attempted to look around, but couldn't see anything, everything was blurry.
"Wha-what's happeni- Oh... oh wait..." He felt his face only to realise his glasses were gone..... "Heh, of course, of course." With his highly limited vision, he had a hard time seeing what was going on. He guessed they were in a desert, and from the looks of it there were quite a fair few people around him. "Well, that's... hopefully good? But what happened?" He Tried to rise to his feet, only to be crippled by the piercing pain in his right leg. "Graaaaaaaah!" He shouted, and fell over, sand blustering everywhere.
"Right, so I'm stuck here. Fine.. fine...." He checked himself over... "Odd.... no injuries......... Wait...... I don't rememer my skin being..... Grey?"

Then again, the starange effects on either side of him made things slightly more curious. But, he had seen no other effects from it. Other then the floating the mist seemed to cause. However, Hawke and Raven's hair had turned into feathers. Wow. Bird-brains indeed.

Overhelmed, she collapsed on the ground. And, over all the things, she it was hot, and she wasn't dead. Looking up at the sea of people, she noticed a few standing up.
"H...help..." She muttered, but she barely could hear herself over all the voices in her head.

Some strands floated over to her, wrapping themselves around her. They moved up, to lift her. Not enough strength, at all. Or mass. He focused more of it over, until her entire body was enveloped in it. He focused it around her torso, lifting it. It lifted them, and placed her on her feet, and he called the strands over to him.
Meanwhile, Raven opened her eyes. Bad idea. SHe closed them again, wondering why her arm felt like water.

Lily looked up at her the...person? that saved her. And almost passed out.

"I did not, stranger." He sent his vision along a tendril of mist. Raven was awaking. However, her hand... and the rest of her body... was strangley enough, liquid.
Raven awoke again, this time feeling a lot more wet. A strand of Set's darkness entered her (liquid) head, and strayed to her brain, telling her exactly what had happened. She was shocked, and some of her liquid state absorbed into the ground. She stood up, calling the liquid back up from the sand. She wasn't actually liquid, more like a sort of gel - she could compose her shape, move, and think. Of course, her clothes fell off her as soon as she stood. She assumed an orb-like shape, floating on some of Set's tendrils. Her two eyes, immersed in some slightly harder gel, and her brain, immersed in an evern harder gel, stood behind her. She had no bones, or indeed - anything at all, other then the blue gel.

Nat checked himself overagain, and everything apart from his apparent un-deadnesswas just as he remembered it, from his broken right leg, his extremely bas eyesight, even his appearance, very long dark hair, disturbingly thin and short body, were as it was before. As he tried out his new body, hastily realising from his leg that he still felt pain, he noticed that the others around him were waking, and he figured that since he REALLY needed his glasses to see, he'd try to get thier help.
He yelled out, "Heyyyyy ... coulddddd youuuuu helppppp meeeew finddddd myyyyy glassessssssssss?" "Wait! M-m-my voice! That's not mine!"
His voice had altered, whereas before it was soft and gentle, his new voice sounded dark, forebodingly malevolent, but still oddly soft..... "Damn it!"

She grabbed her head, not knowing if the ,persons?, that were standing in front of her (or...floating for that matter) had answered. "Shut up shut up..."
Her eyes started to turn white, and some of the corpses around her to float. But she was too messed up to notice.
"Shut up...! SHUT UP!"
The corpses were sent flying across the desert, passing mere inches above the two strangers.
"..." She tilted her head to the right "It wasn't me. Honest...right?"

Several strands, each on either side of him, burst into flames, then were extenguised. Time to focus on that later. The girl - probably driven mad from the gas - was more of a problem.
Raven, manipulating the gel and the tendrils with ease, floated up, surveying the damage. Hawke was still asleep - but Set's dark tendrils had lifted him, and were bringing him towards the central intelligence.

"Sir...um...where are we? What happened?...I was in the hospital's entrance, screaming at someone to get out...and then..." She turned to see at the bright sun. "Then...what? Did we die?"
Walking a few steps, she crossed her arms, her back to Set. "This is certainly not the image i had for heaven..."
Turning, she looked at the person that they were bringing towards them.
"Is he ok?...he looks...strange...then again, who doesn't look strange here? "

Raven recovered herself. The blow had hurt her - annoyingly. She floated up for a few moments, then fell - the desert heat wasn't helping her form. She jumped over to Set, speaking with him. Without a mouth, she had to do it via telepathy. Set considered her prospect, then enveloped her in the mist. Her eyes could still see, thanfulyl. And she was cooler now.
Set turned his attention to the grey man. He sighed. Several more strands enveloped him, throwing him over to the trio of conscience people. More mist softened his blow. "I do not know what happened."

Focusing, she tried to hear only Set's thoughts -IF what she was hearing were the people's thoughts-. Her eyes turned completely white, as so did her hair. But the result? nothing. The man was as mute as a stone.

He paused for a moment, then fetched out a pair of glasses. He gave them to the grey-skinned stranger. "Put them on." he hissed. The glasses weren't his own, but he used them when in disguise, which was quite often.

He turned his attention to the dark Aura'd man, who clearly had leadership potential.
