Yay for a new forum!

Now, considering that GS3 and GS4 had a lot in common - namely, the overarching villain and theme - and the filler cases being much stronger than they were in 1 and 2. Of course, this doesn't mean that 1 and 2 didn't have overarching themes - 2 was all about what it meant to be an attorney, and 1 had to do with setting up Nick, Larry and Edgey's past, and why Nick and Edgey became attorneys in the first place.

I guess what I'm asking is, do you think (or hope!) that GS5 will feature a main villain like 3 and 4 did, or do you think that it will be more episodic in nature and just feature an overall theme connecting the first and final cases, like 1 and 2 did?

Feel free to discuss what exactly you want to see in GS5 pertaining to this idea, as well. :godot:

Personally, I would like another game similar to 3 and 4 - they were incredible - but I think it's much more likely that we'll get a game more similar to 1 and 2. It's like they blew all their fancy special effects money on the first movie in a trilogy, and have to improvise for the next two.

If ANY part of GS5 is like 2-4 it will be awesome. Period. AA4 actually reminded me a little of AA1, so (hopefully) GS5 will be more like JFA.

My various AA stories (Nick/Maya, Adrian/Celeste, Krissi/Dollie, Klavilami, general stuff, etc). All comments, feedback, and reviews are greatly appreciated! :D

I feel that AJ was different than the other 3 games by storyline. It was somewhat like T&T because I think they got better at making a good story and most likely decided that the whole game should tie in to make the finale more intense. The theme in AJ was that the law isn't absolute or perfect, and human emotion is more powerful than any set, narrow-minded rule. I just hope we learn a little more about the characters' backgrounds (I still want more about Phoenix) and have a fresh new theme.

I imagine it'll be like 3 in the sense that they'll maintain a continuous storyline through most of the whole game rather than the random assortment of cases that 2 had. The money shot will probably be something about Apollo and/or Thalassa's past.

The context that the phrase was used in is correct.

It would probably make more sense if it had been in quotations like the "money shot" will be.

It would make for an interesting gameplay mechanic. You not only would be able to provide evidence, but you could also use motive and circumstantial evidence to prove your case.

Doesn't that happen anyway? I remember in a couple of the cases, that you had to suggest a motive that the current witness might have for being the killer.

Anyway, GS5 should be (in terms of difficulty, anyway) more like JFA is, more difficult than AA is but less than T&T. As for whether the game should be more episodic or have the different cases interconnect, I'll go for the episodic approach, seeing as in real-life, that most cases are stand-alone affairs.

Connected plots is fine and all but PLEASE give us a fourth case thats at 1-4/2-4 level!!!

I mean, the last two Finale's were OK, but not EPIC like 4-1/2-4...

My guess is that GS5 will overlook all the other games, like I think there will be 6 cases now, or five at least alternating between Phoenix, Apollo and maybe a new attorney?

I want it to be more like game one. Apollo seems to have just suddenly materialized at Gavin Law Offices - we know nothing about what motivated his desicion to become a lawyer, and considering that just looking at his badge gives him 'a happy feeling inside', he must be really enthusiastic about his job. I want to know why.

I agree. I would also kind of like to see something new...like all of the previous games have been focused on an evil villain's past misdeeds screwing up the innocents' life. It might be refreshing to see something more episodic, or a case (other than the first one of the game) that was entirely rooted in the present, not 7 years ago. Sometimes, people have powerful motives that were formed over the past few months, Capcom. Wasn't a central theme of the games supposed to be moving on?

Yeah, more background info on Apollo.. and possibly keep Phoenix in the background more, he outshone Apollo in the game.. that's how I felt, anyway.

I really didn't think the overarching villain worked in AJ. I just don't know why...

On the other hand, T&T was just great, probably because they had 3-4, which fully developed the back story and enhanced the epic feeling in 3-1.

I really hope that Phoenix comes back again. He's still such a cult figure and ... Apollo is okay, but I wouldn't really miss him THAT much. Unlike Phoenix - He's still the man.
Hmm ... Since I just finished the first game ...
But I think I heard so much about T&T and the idea of the past stories to play is totally cool.
Anyway, they should use the best aspects of the first three games and put them together in a strong game.

Maybe more like PW1, where we see a lot about Phoenix's reason on becoming a lawyer, in other words, his past. I'd like to see why Apollo became a lawyer.
