And no, it's not used as evidence that they're IN LOVE. It's used correctly to prove out that Franziska reacts and reaches out to Adrian in a way that she doesn't do anybody else, and there IS a bond there between the two of them (as defined by the game's creators) that can be interpreted as having romantic potential.

Well, I'd better, after reading through 33 pages and everything. I just haven't written/drawn anything or come to any moderately profound conclusions thus far.

Hmm... Well.
It's more of an anecdote than anything else. However... Even if Ema said that it was intellectual attraction, well, from my personal experience, that's not very far off from a burning crush.
I'd say that you could probably call the feelings I had being "intellectually attracted" without much of a stretch.
I was more or less obsessed with impressing the person in question, was paying close attention to them, albeit from afar, admiring their confidence and academic skill, acted very shy and nervous around them...
Then again, there could also have been some measure of physical attraction, but I don't think so. It was more a matter of intellect and personality. If I were to just have been shown a picture of the person, I don't think I would have cared about them at all.
TL;DR: Attraction v. Intellectual attraction, little difference.
See? A highly useless anecdote.
It also is highly irrelevant when talking about a pairing in a video game. XD But that's what I think of the intellectual attraction thing.
Once I find out what word Franziska uses instead of "foolish" in the German version of JFA, I'm going to be drawing a silly little chibi comic a soon as I have time. :3
