Anywho, it was a smart move by noticing the whole seiyuu/voice actor allusion thing, but thing is they have to deal with explaining some of the other references... (the seiyuu EDs, Daiske Ono's appearance in Lucky Channel later on, Yuko Goto in the second to last episode...etc.)

When it's not relying on esoteric humor, it pokes jabs and jokes about a lifestyle not familiar to the average American television viewer, let alone average American anime fan. I don't see how it could possibly fit on Toonami or even [as].
I'm surprised this is being localized at all, on that subject.

A) Shonen (Dragon Ball series, Pokemon, Digimon, etc.)
B) Mahou Shojo (Sailor Moon, Ojamajo Doremi, Tokyo Mew Mew, etc.)
C) Or have any sort of thriller, action, or any themes of the like that can be only appealing to older audiences, and or money-wanked off on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. (Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Death Note, Trinity Blood, Paranoia Agent, Ghost in the Shell, etc.)

As for Michelle Ruff as Tsukasa...That might be okay, though I didnt like the monotoneish way she did Nagato.
I honestly, won't be buying the DVDs now.

Aya Hirano is kind of a dipshit, so I don't care.
Also, Wendee Lee didn't do a bad voice at all. It was basically similar to the original, in English, with bizarre inflections.

So we finally get the hear the voice-overs! I have mixed feelings about them. Konata's voice sounds pretty good for the most part, and Miyuki sounds moe enough, but I'm sorta concerned about Kagami. From the bits on the trailer, her voice doesn't quite seem to match up to her character. Hopefully that's just the case for the parts we saw and it sounds much better in the show itself.

All in all, it sounds like they've done a pretty good job with the dubs. Can't wait for this to come out!

And... After watching the trailer, I'm somewhat relieved -- Konata's voice wasn't what I'd hoped, but it's not too bad either. *sigh* I guess I'll have to wait for more dubbed dialogue to be released before I give my official opinion. >_>

I like the dubs. Sure, we don't have much to go off of, but little we got from that trailer was pretty good.

There a lot of in-jokes and references to other manga and anime throughout the show, but Haruhi seems to get more attention than others. The two shows are completely unrelated. However, many of the jokes won't make sense unless you watch Haruhi Suzumiya.

Oooh. Never really noticed how raspy Minuki sounds compared to her original. (Like it sounds like the VA is trying too hard; but I'm just basing this off that 3 second scene) Nonetheless this helps.
