((This may not help us get a new attorney, but it might help move the story along and COULD segue into another attorney rushing in if someone wants to take it...))

"W-what the...!" Jay gasped as the famous defense attorney whom even HE'D worked on a few cases with suddenly collapsed behind the defense's bench. He instinctly jumped down so he was looking over the railing. He was looking down on the fallen defense attorney as a tear dropped from his eye onto the unconscious body below. "Someone! Call for help! And hurry!" He started to panic, but realized what this might mean... He rushed back up to where Letta and Friday were sitting and tried to explain the best he could. Very softly, he said, "L-Letta... I'm sorry. I don't think it was supposed to go like this... Believe me, I'd jump down there in an instant except... there's no way in hell I'm going to defend an obviously-guilty man... If a replacement isn't found soon, the case will automatically go to the prosecution... I think. Do you want that to happen?"
"I can't believe this myself," Jeremy commented. He was shocked, but not surprised, at what had happened. "But Jay's right. Either a replacement defense attorney needs to be called in or, from what I remember about the law system, Thomas automatically gets declared guilty... Either that, or the trial will have to be suspended until further notice..." Jeremy wasn't sure what to do. Things had obviously not gone the way they were meant to.

((Now it's your go. If you wanna step in as a replacement defense attorney, go ahead... Make sure you can be here regularly though! Haha...))
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.

This is more than perfect. "Your honor, unless there is any issues, I'm going to replace the defense attorney for Mr. Blu. I have the qualifications to do so, and Mr. Wright is in no state to continue this case." Mira waited for a response from the judge. I hope that Mr. Wright stays down long enough for me to gather info on Phoenix Jr's location.

The butler spoke to this new man. "....Uh... Sirs... shall I be required to repeat my testimony?"

'Huh?' Violetta said in a puzzled tone, 'M-Mr.Wright...' Violetta shuffled her foot and looked down. Friday sighed, 'Another delay? Dear lord what kind of trials are they running these days?' Friday glanced to the Defense's bench. 'He's definately not dead, but he's going to be out for a while. It's good there's a replacement... But this really wasn't suppose to happen.' Violetta looked at Jay, with another puzzled look, 'Why are you sorry? It's not that much of a deal. If it goes to the prosecution, I don't care. If he gets off the hook, I don't care. Either way I'll be...' Violetta trailed off as Friday gave her a glare, then she finished her sentence, 'alright?' Friday nodded then looked out once more. 'I want this done with as soon as possible.' Friday commented, still gazing to the court. Violetta giggled a bit, then said, 'And you sai I was the impatient one... haha...'
'Don't you two have somewhere to be?' Friday asked the Slezak brothers, 'I don't want you casting suspicious on us.' Friday shook her head, and her dirty blonde hair seemed to shimmer in a faint glow.

"That depends on whether or not the judge will allow me to replace Mr. Wright." Mira put his hands together, waiting for the judge's word. Just say the word, your honor, and I shall replace Mr. Wright.

The judge looked over the nwcomers credentials. "Hmmm.... Well, this a very unusal set of circumstances, but as this is a high priority case, I shall allow this. Under the confirmation of your client, you may begin cross-examination."

Humphrey looked, and waited for his masters plan to begin.

Mira turned his head to his client. "Is this ok, Mr. Blu? Mr. Wright is unable to continue at the moment, and someone has to defend you, right?" Mira put his hands on his desk. It's a shame I'm only replacing the defense attorney, as this could have been my first case as a defense.

Thomas silently stood there, then opened his mouth to speak, "I'm very sorry for this incident... I really wanted Mr.Wright to defend me in this trial... But seeing the circumstances, I would love to have you as my defense attorney at the moment... There really isn't another choice, is there?" Thomas shrugged and left it at that.

Why did he want Phoenix over.... Well..... Anyone else? He probably wants to ensure his victory in this case. Unfortunately, that's not how the law works. Mira put his hands back together and closed his eyes, ((they are not visible, since the mask is in the way, but he still did that)). The spirit-sensitive people should have noticed something with Mira. "Could the witness restate the testimony?" Something was different about Mira.

"Why yes, of course Sir, But might I emplore that you restrain the prosecution some, he has already made me quite angry earlier in todays trial." Humphrey grinned broadly, making a kind face.

What I Saw

"Throughout the day, Miss Violetta and Master Thomas were argueing, about what I don't know;
Later in the day, there was a commotion in Miss Violetta's room, a cluttering noise;
I was forced into running upstairs to see what was happening, when I saw....;
My Master and Miss Violetta were Dueling, The Miss screaming, the Master Edging foreward;
I saw my Master Stomping foreward, preparing to attack her, but then...;
The Shelf I had installed recently collapsed, it's contents falling on to Miss Violetta;
I don't remember much after that..."

"So you are saying that my client and the victim where fighting? Does that mean that the victim accidentally bumped into the shelf while fighting my client?" Mira asked Humphrey, waiting to see how he would respond. Now where is the court record? Mira started looking around for the court record on the desk.

'Shelf...' Violetta mumbled, clutching the spot on her head that was hit.
Friday glanced at Violetta and her eyes glimmered slightly. 'I see yuo're starting to remember...'
Violetta nodded, blinking her eyes frequently, 'There was a shelf. And there were lots of things on it, Friday, lots of heavy things...' Violetta looked at Friday curiously.
'While the trial proceeds, you'll remember more and more, and when it comes to the final examination, you should have everything pieced together, that's how it usually goes.' Friday looked a bit cheerier than before. Maybe because everything was finally moving on, at a slow pace, but it was moving.
Violetta looked down, 'But I'm an unusual person...'
'I know,' Friday said, a smile tugging at her mouth, 'That's why this is so important... Why I need to you be patient, and make sure to know all the details. This is a special occasion, Letta, very special...'
'I hope Mira can do a good job,' Violetta said quietly.
Friday shut her eyes, then opened them slightly with a sigh,
'I hope so too...'

Humphrey Puzzled over the question....

"No. I don't think Miss Violetta Bumped it, I think it actually collapsed from both of their shuffling." Humphrey scratched below his right eye"I don't remember seeing Anyone bump into the wall." He stopped, then went on "....Though it's odd, as I was the one who installed the shelf, weighed the contents, and put it up there. I feel partly responsible. Though I was sure I followed the directions....."

"So the floor underneath the shelf collapsed? That, besides someone bumping into the shelf, is the only way the shelf could fall over." Mira said, still looking for the court records. How the hell a I supposed to defense a client if I cannot view the evidence? Mira continued to shuffle through papers.

'Perhaps I'm too trusting of people?' Jay thought, beginning to ask himself questions in his mind, 'I'm starting to wonder if maybe it WAS an accident and Letta, being on such bad terms with her father, just figured he'd be the one to do her in? ...I still think he did it, but I'm nowhere near as sure as I thought I was...'
"...We really don't have anywhere else to be. We really came to watch and see if what should be done is done... Though now I'm not sure what should be done or if we even play a part in it at all..." Jay explained to Friday, still holding the green ribboned sketchbook. He turned around and sat back down, looking back down at the court. He opened the sketchbook yet again and began looking through it again to see if there really was anything useful. 'Hmm... my bracelet is glowing slightly again, but the cause seems to be coming from a different source... That reminds me, I wonder if my bracelet can catch lies? Maybe if someone lies in their testimony, I'll be able to "see" it. I really don't know.'
Jeremy was still taking notes, keeping an eye on the replacement defense attorney. He knew Mira, and wondered what tricks he'd have up his sleeve for the witnesses. "This should prove to be an interesting day," Jeremy commented to nobody in particular.

((Was there ever a Court Record? Maybe you should try asking Violet in a PM if she can come up with one or something. I dunno.))

(Court Records:
The Shelf: It looked kind of shaky. Maybe if they stomped hard enough it could have collapsed. We can't tell now....
Honor Trophy: It seems a couple of trophies are the cause of Violetta's death. This is probably the first one that hit. It's a trophy of Honor. It was engraved to Mr.Blu.
Unknown Trophy: This is the second trophy that caused Violetta's death. Who it was engraved to and what it was for is scratched out. There is an abstract design on it, so it is hard to make out what it was for. Maybe a sculpture of some sort, or symbol...
Sketch Book: This navy sketchbook was found near Violetta. It has splatters of blood on it, and seems important. When they checked the book, they found nothing inside. The book had a bright green ribbon tied around it.

Okay, those are the main pieces of evidence.
You can add more if you need to.
To the Prosecutor: There ARE some useful information in there, so pay attention and ask if you need to<3))

"I think he meant, the vibrations of the floor spread to the wall causing the shelf to fall down," Thomas mumbled, not to loudly for he didn't want to interrupt the court, for that could cause him a penalty.

((Do we have an autopsy report to some type of document that shows the time of death?))

Mira finally found the court records. Sketch book? I'll ask about it once I determine what the witness is actually talking about. "Although it does make since, your butler is the witness, and who knows what kind of information could get mixed up, especially with an event like this." Mira whispered, so the prosecutor and judge could not hear him.

Humphrey waited for the next probing question he knew woud be coming. People were in shambles. It seemed the New defence had found what he was looking for, whilst the prosecution was staying quiet, probably waiting for an appropriate time.

Humphrey went over what he knew. His Master was innocent, of that he was sure, but he still needed to protect his master. He had spoken truthfully of what he saw..... All of what he saw........ Yes, everything.....

"But then the victim would have had to have bumped into the shelf in order for it to fall over, since she jumped backward. Am I right?" Mira said, putting his hands on the desk. "If you are going to answer, do it truthfully. If you are not sure, then just say so, that way, we can continue the case with no more problems with the testimony. So far, it's the victim's fault she's dead. Care to prove me wrong?"

"And I am sure of what I saw. The Master was stamping, the Mistress moving back wards then... well..."

"Exactly! The victim was moving backwards. She was in a fight, wasn't she? How was she supposed to know what was behind her without eyes in the back of her head? This case could easily been about the murder of Mr. Blu because he accidentally hit the shelf-" Mira turned towards his temporary client, "-no offense."

Mira smacked his forehead. "That's what I've been saying. The fact you got all mad when I mentioned it only shows suspicion. Can we work with another witness? I believe he is still shocked from the victim's death." However, the way he phrased it is wrong. If Mr. and Ms. Blu hadn't fought, this would not have been possible. Same goes for the butler and Ms. Blu. Also, since she is not clumsy, she couldn't have bumped into the shelf unless she was in a situation where her mind was busy with something else, i.e. fighting. "Oh! I mean no further questions."

Mira made the 'WRRRRRRRRRRRRRY!' pose, then stood normally. "Well then how did she die? If there was no noise, then my client did not attack the victim, yet the shelf did not fall down. Noise is the product of action, and if the victim did not hit the wall, producing no noise (and kinetic energy), then how did the shelf fall down with no kinetic energy? According to your recent testimony, the shelf had potential energy, which effectively isn't energy at all (depending on how you look at it). The only possible explanation for this lack of sound would be the presence of insufficient sound. How did you know something went wrong?"

Humphrey stared at the attorney bankly, particularly after his overtly scientific explanation.

"Umm... let me clarify what happened.

First- We charged up to the room
Second- My master stomped forward
Last- I heard the shelf fall

I never heard her bang into the wall, but I heard the shelf fall."

Mira sighed. Dammit! I had everything setup, but then this dumbass ruins everything! "Again, the sound could have been nullified, yet the force could have been enough to knock the shelf over. Since you saw my client stomp forward, did you see the victim bump into the wall? It is also possible that the sound rang out long enough to mask the sound of the victim's collision with the wall." Mira nodded, as if trying to get the witness to say 'yes'.

Mira smacked the desk with both hands. "That's what I've been saying! Since you did not see not see what happened, we can assume what I originally said. Force does not equal sound. This is a principle I can easily demonstrate, but it's quite destructive." Dumbass.

'Hmm... I'm beggining to like this new defense attorney,' Friday commented, having a surprising look of curiosity on her face, 'He's doing a good job, don't you say...' Violet nodded happily, a small smile spread across her face.
'Friday, if I'm here, why can't I just tell them what happened?'
Friday shook her head with a small laugh, 'Violetta, tell me now, what happened.'
Violetta tapped her lip in thought, and squeezed her eyes shut.
She remembered being in her room, drawing in her sketchbook with a new pen. She was having so much fun because the pen was very special, she was on the last page of the book. She her loud knocks at the door, and she shut off her desk light, only leaving a faint glow of her dimmed room light. She tied a bright green ribbon to her sketchbook, signalling that the book was finished, and clutched her book to her chest, and got off the chair to turn around. The door knob firmly grasped in her hand, she opened the door. 'A-Agh...' Violetta shook her head.
'See,' Friday said with a know-it-all tone, 'You can't remmeber past what they have found out. They're at th shelf, and you opened the door right before the shelf happened. Just keep watching, and everything will unfold...'
