'Your honour!' Gregory Edgeworth slammed the desk and pointed 'I have a special request! I'm helping Mira, here!' He looked at Mira and said 'Mira... Think. Look at the self. Look how high it is.' He smiled 'I've done an investigation of my own.' He showed Violetta's profile and it said:

Name: Violetta Blu
Height: 157 cm.

'What does that mean?' He looked at the witness and said 'Isn't it strange how that shelf was her exact height? Not too high or too low? Bizzare.'

"What are you suggesting? Did my client plan this? Hmmmmm..... Better yet, Mr. Humphrey, was the victim sitting or standing?" Mira asked. "She could have jumped out of the chair when my client stomped towards the victim."

"Hmmmm......" Humphrey recalled the layout of the room...

It was a reasonably small room, which Violetta asked for, she never liked large areas. Her bed was in the northeastern corner, and took up a quarter of the room. On the opposite side, by the door, was her writing/drawing desk, as well as the infamous shelf. Her chair was by the table, away from the rest of the room.

"No, it wasn't possible for her to have been sitting by the shelf."

I drew a picture if it helps.

I shall repeat what I've said before, as this is what I saw.

"Throughout the day, Miss Violetta and Master Thomas were argueing, about what I don't know;

Later in the day, there was a commotion in Miss Violetta's room, a cluttering noise;

I was forced into running upstairs to see what was happening, when I saw....;

My Master and Miss Violetta were Dueling, The Miss screaming, the Master Edging foreward;

I saw my Master Stomping foreward, preparing to attack her, but then...;

The Shelf I had installed recently collapsed, it's contents falling on to Miss Violetta;

I don't remember much after that..."

((Might I suggest you pick a statement and, perhaps, press??))

((Wasn't I pressing? I didn't recall presenting any evidence)).

"Hmmmmm..... What happened to the sound of the falling shelf? Wasn't that the only sound you heard? What's with the cluttering?" There we go, much better. I think we can make better progress with this.

"In that case, shouldn't she have been alive when you entered the room? It would see as though my client knocked everything down before killing the victim, assuming that's what he did. And again, what about the shelf? You said you heard cluttering sounds, but what about the shelf?"

"Yes, she was alive when I got up there, I saw her. After I got up there, I saw her, she moved out of my sight, then there was 'more' cluttering, and I found her there with a shelf and it's contents on her. Do you have any problems with this?"
Humphrey was getting very straight foreward.

"First noise was table and chest, then when I got there, the shelf fell. Alright?" He said calmly.

"How did she move out of sight in a small room like hers? It's almost impossible to lose sight of someone with that little space to move about in. Don't try to say that she hid underneath because there is no way she could have hid that well in that short amount of time. You did enter the room, did you not?" How long is this cross-examination going to last? We need to begin talking with my temporary client ASAP, so we can save Phoenix Jr.

'OBJECTION!! If you heard the cluttering.. Then her voice... She would have died. Isn't that true? Let's review this.

Violetta was dueling.
There was a cluttering noise,
She calls.
You hear another noise.
You see her, alive. In the room?

Is that it?'

"I, uh heard her... before the cluttering, yes, you see.... I was told by my master to stay on the ground floor, but I then was called by The mistress... so I ran upstairs while the first cluttering was going on. When I got there, I saw them, then there was the second cluttering, and then I found the mistress. Yes, yes, that's what happened."

Humphrey was glad he thought of what he could use to cover up... 'that' incident....

Maya looked at both of them, "Dueling, umm, cluttering, then death then shelf! Wait no, it was cluttering shelf death then dueling...no that's not it! Umm, Deat- Oh forget it..." Maya was so confused at the attorneys who replaced Nick, Wait! Isn't Gregory supposed to be dead from one of Nick's first cases?!?! She looked at him, "Ah, nevermind..." Maya sat down and kept on trying to rememeber what the attorneys said, Umm, dueling, cluttering, shelf, then eating?

((Really? I thought I read something in this thread that indicated otherwise. Violet hasn't corrected Polly about the Maya thing yet, has she?))

Mira turned toward Maya. "What about eating?" Mira's stomach rumbled. "Never mind, the case is more important." Mira scratched his head, then placed his hands on the desk. Why did I have to replace the defense attorney? This is time that could have been used to locate Phoenix Jr. Hey! It's his aid a spirit person? We'll talk about it after this day has ended.

"That depends, when did my client tell you to stay downstairs?" Mira asked, trying to wrap up this cross-examination. "*Psst*, Maya, do you know how many witnesses there are in this case? If so, do you know how many are scheduled for today?" Mira whispered to Maya, stilling looking towards the witness.

"But you forgot who yelled? I'm beginning to doubt your testimony. Who yelled first? Awhile ago, you said it was the victim, now you say it was my client. Why would my client want to yell if he really did the crime? No, seriously, yelling is the last thing on a culprit's mind."

Maya remembered what the witness said, "Hmm, that's not right..." :holdit:

Maya pointed at Mr. Serv, "I think no one called up Mr. Serv!" Maya said as she remembered James' side of the story.

James Veld wrote:
The butler answered the door...He wouldn't let me in, so I ran past him then he came following me up to Violetta's room.

"Uh, no, wait, why would I lie about who yelled, what difference would it make, I still got to the crime scene. What would change if I'm lying?"
Humphrey was smug.

The Judge spoke out. "Yes, Mira I am going to have to agree, what would change if this witness is lying? Answer correctly, or I'll have to penalize you."

I guess my statement didn't get to anybody, well I didn't have evidence so I guess that's the problem... Maya looked as Mira tried to think to answer the Judge's questions. Those are hard questions but I know someone could answer them... Maya was worried for Nick, but she stayed strong and tried not to cry in court. The judge was awaiting the answer, she looked on the opposite side of the courtroom and saw Amun waiting for an answer, his eyes were like Gant's an eagle.

At what point is he lying? I understand he wants to make sure that his master's attorney wins his case, but what is he lying about? Was he upstairs the whole time, or did he go upstairs for a different reason? Better out, how do I call on his lies? I think I got it. "I'm still trying to come up with the proper answer, your honor, however, if you don't mind, I would like the ask the witness some more questions, which should eventually give you the answer we are looking for. Would this be ok, your honor?"
