Despite all appearances, the "project members" with OCs have done work on other parts of the project: Yuu, for example, had the original concepts for Rocktra and Sadistress (the latter almost overshadowing Makoto as figurehead for the project). She's also the progenitor for the most recent and "official" design for Super Makoto's costume.
There's never been a real application process for "joining the project." All I've ever asked potential members for is to show interest and strike up discussions with the people working on it. We can work new concepts into existing ideas - this is an evolving project that thrives on continuing invention and expression.
If anything, showcase your art and ideas here in the thread where they will be available to everyone for review. The PChat itself is also a good place to discuss things in real-time, as well as collaborate on designs on the public canvas there.
Leave a reply in the thread here if you have something you want people to look at. Remember, though it's not a guarantee that we'll add everything that's contributed, the only way to find out is to see it, think about it, discuss it, and rework it over and over until we come to a solid decision.
That's how I ended up axing two OCs, Venom concepts, and alternate Super Makoto designs - we just kept trying them and they didn't work. That said, don't obsess over your own corner of the project... this goes for everyone involved, including myself.

Anyway, one day into my drawing countdown and already I hit a snag. Oh boy.
I had concert practice today, and I'll have a concert tomorrow, and a marching event on Saturday...also school projects. Yeah, time is tight.
Today's picture is Super Makoto again. I was going to do Rocktra but it would have looked a lot like this (I may even go ahead and do my intended picture anyway)
I didn't even follow my own restrictions and use white lines! i r smrt
Maybe I should draw them on the PChat because I'm more familliar with the program?

Gumshoe is at the moment a "non-super" and probably just an easter-egg-but-not character. I believe the last decision we made on him (and Maggey) was that they had married and had lots of pretty little babies and they may or may not be saved by Makoto and co.
Kind of like the Delites, only they're not actively (or could possibly) still be "in the spotlight".
Being vauge and using terms I don't quite understand what I'm doing with is fun!

I don't remember writing anything down for Gumshoe or Maggey. I think it's perfectly fine to have nonsuper characters (Takita/Wocky and Drew/Doburoku are two such cases). The Eccentrist (Luke Atmey) isn't necessarily "superpowered" either, when you think about it... neither is Désiree "Danger" DéLite.
Speaking of which, when I can, there's a new batch of SMakoPChat caps that I'll have to crop and upload, all backlogged through the past months...

Makoto can claim that it's from a really old television series, but no one seems to remember it, or can find any other merchandise of it. (It's THAT obscure!) And she designs new outfits for it too (Guess how she makes them? Yep.) And it can ride around in the front pocket of her overalls.
...So I watched Juno today and saw "Most Fruitful Yuki" and instantly thought of, er, Super Makoto... yeah...

Maybe, like Microsoft and other large billionaire corporations now and in the past, he has an entire division devoted to philanthropic endeavors, using a healthy chunk of his profits to fuel market and job growth in the region and nation, possibly feed some starving children somewhere (who may ironically be on the business end of some Eccentric device he had crafted for an underworld villain... this is where you see the grey area, yes?).
Or we could Bowdlerize the whole deal and make his gadgets and inventions semi- or non-lethal more often than not. *shrug*
