In a previous post in tiny text, I brought up mini-miles and his dad. I discovered Photobucket today (or rather, the fact that it was searchable), and guess what I found:

Except he's staring straight at Gregory's hand :yuusaku: At least now we know where Edgey got his huge hands (and you know what the say about guys with big hands...)

In any case, mini-Miles is probably holding a letter to Santa or something. Or a test he did badly on, and Edgey Sr is telling him the story about how poorly he did in school. Greg must have been a really awesome dad. :edgy:
... I'm having way to much fun with trying to come up with what mini-Miles' home life was like. :yogi: I bet his mother was Misty Fey

That would be a hell of a plot twist, and it would probably ruin any pairings with Edgy that involved a member of the Fey Family...

*Looks at her sig*

Yep, that'd be awkward.

And its rated A for adult, but it's not anything perverted or whatever. There's a plot twist so it changes from fluff to horror to fluff...and *ahem* fluffish kind of *ahem ahem* *cough* you get the point. But I'm still on the second fluff.

I just found something out. I think Edgey was born any day between October 24 and November 22, because his traits in the game match the sun sign Scorpio.
Spoiler: Scorpio Traits
Scorpio Strength Keywords:
- Loyal
- Passionate
- Resourceful
- Observant
- Dynamic

Scorpio Weakness Keywords:
- Jealous
- Obsessive
- Suspicious
- Manipulative
- Unyielding

Scorpio and Independence:

Scorpios are fiercely independent. They are able to accomplish anything they put their mind to and they won't give up. They are perfectly suited to being on their own. They are not social butterflies like some other zodiac signs and some actually prefer to live on their own that way there is never any issue of who controls what at home, they like to be in control. Scorpio and Friendship:
Relationships with Scorpio are always complicated, just like the person, their relationships are a series of extremes, they can even be downright moody for no apparent reason. Scorpios are known for their possessiveness and jealousy but on the other hand, they are extremely loyal. Scorpios have an excellent memory and combined with an inability to let things go, they can hold a grudge against someone who did them harm forever, in fact a Scorpio rarely if never forgives and forgets. They will even go as far as get vengeance on the person. On the other hand, they will always remember a kind gesture forever and repay it. Any kind selfless gesture done to a Scorpio will gain trust and respect which is extremely important to them in any relationship, either romantic or not. The best advice is to be honest with a Scorpio friend and in return, you will gain an amazing friend you will never forget and who will be loyal to you and never make false promises. Their truthful and shocking sense of humor if different than that of any other zodiac sign and the Scorpio makes an amazing, powerful interesting friend that can be trusted.
Scorpio and Business:

Scorpios make excellent doctors, surgeons, scientists and leaders, they are perfectly suited to any form of business that makes a difference in the world, greatly impacts people and society and a most importantly, Scorpio has to be in a power position, this is why these careers are suited to the Scorpio, they all demand one person in supreme control giving orders and leading a unit of people/practices. In business, Scorpios tend to easily gather wealth, they make very wise business decisions and they are very conservative about spending their money. Scorpios are known for making money and hiding it, they will not announce it due to to fear that others will take the same route and becoming a possible competitor, or worse try to use the Scorpio to their advantage to use them for their money.
Scorpio and Temperament:

Scorpios are extremely ambitious, persistent and determined which is shown through a power hungry, controlling attitude. Not in a stubborn sense however, because a Scorpio will work for what they want and control will justified reasons. This is obvious to any onlooker. A Scorpio never gives up, they are so determined to reach their goal. The key to this success is their flexibility. They are able to re-survey a situation and take a different approach if necessary. This makes them very adaptable and versatile. Scorpios are fierce competitors, combined with their powers of observation and their excellent memory, they will recall facts and when necessary, bring them to the table at the time of need. They will win justly, with proper facts and arguments to support their thoughts and opinions. Scorpios are excellent at restoring order to a chaotic situation and they are just as capable of manipulating for their own greed and benefit. The un-evolved Scorpio is a very dangerous person because they use their powers to benefit only them and step on other people in order to satisfy their own greed.
Scorpio Deep Inside:

Scorpio is the most misunderstood of all astrology signs. They are all about intensity and contradictions. They like to be aware of a situation and always know what's going on, figuring this out with their probing mind, on the other hand, they are interested in the occult, the paranormal, conspiracy theories and other types of similar unknown mysteries. They are very capable of hiding their true feelings and motivations, they often have ulterior motives or a hidden agenda.
Scorpios are all about control, they need to be in control at all times. To be out of control is very threatening, even dangerous to the Scorpio's psyche, when they control, they feel safe.
Scorpios are very emotional, their emotions are intensified, both good emotions and bad. Negative emotions of jealousy and resentment are hallmarks of this turbulent astrology sign. On the other side, Scorpios are well known for their forceful and powerful drive to succeed and their amazing dedication. Scorpios are constantly trying to understand their emotions through finding a deeper purpose in life.
Scorpios are very intuitive, but not as in a psychic sense, more as intuitive into the human mind, they have a great understanding of the mystery and the power of the human mind.
Scorpios have a fear of failure which they keep hidden extremely well, should their confrontation not be successful, or their career fail, they will simply use their adaptive skill to quickly move and and leave the bad experience behind. Do not ever expect them to fess up or share their tale with anyone however because this shows signs of weakness and Scorpio always wins, they are always the self-proclaimed best! One of the reasons they seem like they always accomplish their goals is because they set tangible short-term goals that they know they can accomplish, they know what they are capable of and this is what they go for.
Scorpios are very weary about trusting anyone, a person needs to gain their trust and this gets built up over time and once all the 'trust tests' have been passed, Scorpio loves deeply and intensely. Underneath the cool exterior, energies and emotions are constantly flowing but the Scorpio deals with this be channeling this into useful activities, hobbies, relationships or a career. This is never apparent to the outside observer but knowing this fact explains why Scorpios are so passionate about whatever it is that they are undertaking. Scorpios have powerful instincts and they trust their own gut feeling which is another reason why a Scorpio seldom fails.
The ongoing lesson in life for those born under the Scorpio zodiac signs, is to channel their powerful energy into positive goals and not succumbing to the darker forces in life such as manipulation and greed, they will then have great success in their life and have a clean, happy conscience and a circle of friends they can trust and hold dear to them.
Scorpio in a Nutshell:

Scorpio is the astrology sign of extremes and intensity. Scorpios are very deep, intense people, there is always more then meets the eye. They present a cool, detached and unemotional air to the world yet lying underneath is tremendous power, extreme strength, intense passion and a strong will and a persistent drive. Scorpios have a very penetrative mind, do not be surprised if they ask questions, they are trying to delve deeper and figure things out and survey the situation. They always want to know why, where and any other possible detail they can possibly know. Scorpio's are very weary of the games that other people try to play and they are very aware of it. Scorpios tend to dominate and control anyone that lets them, or anyone that they find weak. The person that a Scorpio respects and holds close to them is treated with amazing kindness, loyalty and generosity. On the outside, a Scorpio has great secretiveness and mystery. This magnetically draws people to them. They are known to be controlling and too ambitious but only because they need control for this makes them feel safe

Does anyone agree?

Nope. I don't believe star signs have anything to do with character traits. Also, according to the timeline page, Edgey doesn't have a Birthday because Capcom messed up the timeline. If they can't be bothered to fix birthdays for characters, I doubt that they'll bother attaching star sign characteristics.

That's not what I meant. I was trying to say that if we were to base it on his personality, his Sun Sign would be Scorpio, which would make his birthday between October 23 and November 21. I don't think Capcom would bother with Sunsigns either =3

Only the timeline for 3-4 is messed up. If you don't include that, Edgey's birthday could be anywhere from March 24 - September 4 (I calculated all of the recurring characters' birthdays in the Phoenix arc :yuusaku: and I have to do it again for AJ).

Edgey's so a Virgo btw.

I have to agree Edgey and Gumshoe do work together perty well...I like in the last case in PW3 when you're Edgeworth and you're investigating. When you examine the shincicto...Gumshoe's like: Can I tell you a secret?
Edgeworth: Yes!
Gumshoe: When I was a kid...I wanted to be a samari (or something like that I don't remember.)
Edgeworth: That's it?!
Gumshoe: Yep! That's my secret!
Edgeworth: Grrr....

Hmm, Zodiac signs work best when you pair them with the Chinese Zodiac, I'm a Scorpio myself, and a lot of what's in that article is tre about me, but, I was also born in 1988, Making me a Dragon, several "Dragon traits" are also true about me.

It's not a science, but there do seem to be certain patterns that people born under certain signs seem to follow, but that's just my opinion.

I could see Edgy as a Scorpio, but there are other signs that he could fall under as well, though I have to say, with his secretive nature, his love of winning (early on anyway) and various other things, I'd say the persona fits, but the topic is a bit more about when he was born, making it hard to define by sign alone, after all.

That's the point of star signs; they just choose traits that the majority of people are bound to have, group them together, and call it a fortune. If I went by personality traits alone I'd probably have 8 different astrological signs. It works for some people, I guess.

True...I'm not a marjor fan of generalization, and I personally wouldn't use signs as a way to tell anyone's future, but, the personality traits are not too far off at least in some people.

Mind you, I'm not the type that defines myself by sign, just there are some things about it that ring true for me.

I have finally worked up the courage (and time) to come here and proclaim my passionate love for Miles Edgeworth. He is one of the most interesting, developed, and complex characters in the game. He is also so much like myself, and sometimes I can't help wishing I was his mother. I feel like I understand him so well, and 3-5 was truly great becuase we finally got an insight to his mind.
So, that's why I love Miles Edgeworth.

P.S. Marshmellow, that picture is the sweetest thing I've seen since a video on YT about P/E. Which is really saying something, considering that video was so sweet it made my teeth rot.

I still hold that Gregory must have been an pwnsome dad. Edgey looked up to him so much, and he was pretty much all he had... They must have been really close especially after Gregory spirited Miles away from Kurain. That picture captures their characters so perfectly - you can tell exactly what kind of a person Edgey Sr was.

We need an AU game where DL-6 never happened. Gregory is quickly becoming my favourite character who doesn't have a speaking part (the competition consisting mainly of Charley, Neil, and Mask*deMasque, among others) and there would be more of a chance of Edgey being reunited with his mother.

But then poor Edgey, no longer bereft of a family, would lose dozens of aspects of his character and probably wouldn't have turned out to be nearly as an intriguing person. In a sad sort of way, we fans owe a lot to DL-6, because without it Edgey just wouldn't be Edgey anymore.

I agree. I really want to see what Gregory was like. I often wish he was my father instead of my real one. Too bad that'll never happen.

Miles would never be the same. Though, when I think about what he could have been like, I often wonder what it would be like if my mother had never gotten cancer. To see an AU with it would be nice, though. DL-6 is one of those things that happens in literature, seems like a tradegy, and is one, for those involved in the story. But to us, the readers, it's bittersweet and often what attracts us to our favorite characters. Won't claim I'm an expert in writing; I'm only 13, but it seems like that happens a lot. Take Harry Potter and Voldemort killing his parents for exanple. And Eragon and Eldest are full of it.

Cliche time! You're wise beyond your years.

It sounds stupid when I say it like that, but what you said is absolutely true. It's all the things we go through in life who make us who we are, and (no matter how small) if we changed our pasts we would turn out to be totally different people. Awful things happen, but sometimes we have to look back and be thankful that they did happen. I'm only 15, but the fact that I'm young and stupid and naive is something that I wouldn't have learned how to deal with if my dad hadn't gone to jail.

That said, it kind of makes me wonder (since this is a thread about him) what Edgeworth would think about the topic. Gregory Edgeworth was the only family Miles had, and I don't know if Edgeworth would be strong enough to choose keeping his identity over regaining his father.

And just because:

I think anyone would rather have their father back than go through what Edgeworth had to go through. Here's my guess if DL-6 never happened:

Pros:
Gregory Edgeworth would have eventually taught Miles everything he had to figure out for himself but without all the angst and psychological manipulation. Miles would probably have grown up with a more or less secure personality.

Cons:
It then kind of makes him a boring character a la Klavier because he didn't go through all those hardships. He just kinda learned all about justice without suffering and he wouldn't have been as rounded out as he was. Not to say that suffering is good, but in terms of story, we love identifying with characters' struggles and that's how we grow so attached to them. *huggles Edgey* :edgy:

Besides, I like to think that Miles' closet-geekdom for the Steel Samurai symbolizes the remnants of everything he stood for as a child. He might have even made the connection in his mind that Steel Samurai = his father (heroes defending the defenseless). In other words, he has an idealized vision of justice, and it couldn't be squashed even by Von Karma. I find that so adorable and admirable at the same time. It's true that he adapted Von Karma's court tactics as he grew up, but if he had truly conformed, he wouldn't have realized the error of his ways later. And the fact that he admitted he was wrong and came back to help Phoenix who was heading toward a similar path is just... just.. baaaaah I wubs him~! :bellboy:

I never thought of it like that :edgy: I love examining the psychological aspects of characters' personalities.

And I think I should rephrase what I said before, because hypothetically choosing if certain events happened or not isn't a matter of strength. It's a question of values, and perhaps of wisdom—not that either having it happen or not is the right choice. I can't think of anyone, real or fictional, who wouldn't choose to keep their father if they were in Edgey's situation, especially considering the fact that he never got over it. He was still feeling the repercussions of DL-6 in 3-5, and he likely will for the rest of his life. It was just something that he never learned how to deal with.

And I agree that Klavier's a boring character. They compensated well with the whole rockstar thing, but the only things that actually made Klavier interesting were the fact that he wanted the truth and
Spoiler: 4-4
how he dealt with his doubts about Kristoph.

That's why I think we're all hoping for Edgeworth to make an appearance in GS5. Klavier felt too much like a temp.

Agreed, Edgey needs that hardship in his life to be the man he turned out to be, heck, without getting defeated by Phoenix he probably would have turned out worse as times went on as well, or if he'd never had to be defended by Phoenix, it's almost like Edgeworth is the main character it feels like sometimes. Because we get a lot more info about him just in the first two games than we really get on Phoenix.

I guess T&T is making up for it a bit through.

That kind of makes me wonder if Edgey was Klavier's mentor while he was in Germany. :edgy: There were plenty of opportunities for that to happen pre-JFA and Pre-T&T. The idea seems kinda cute to me.. I dunno xD.
