Case 2, The Stolen Turnabout

If you view Larry's profile after it's added, Phoenix says he's known him since grade school. Yet Phoenix also says something about having known Larry for 25 years around the same time as he shows up. (Which would've been when Phoenix was 1 and Larry possibly wasn't born yet, too)

I don't think it's a mistake. I think it's just another way of saying "I've known him my whole life," which is what you might feel like if you met someone that young.

Hey, I noticed that, too! It bothered me, actually. I wondered if the video game makers were holding information back from us, but judging by the flashback cutscenes from the first game, it seems like Phoenix really first met Larry at the same time he met Edgeworth: 4th grade. Hmm...

When did it say that Larry and Nick met in fourth grade?

I'm pretty sure that the game script says that "we all became friends after [the class trial]", or something similar, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they were all strangers beforehand. Given the fact that Phoenix twice said that he's known Larry his entire life, I interpreted it as meaning that after the class trial, Miles joined Nick and Larry, and thus that was the beginning of the three of them being friends. I just imagined that Nick's and Larry's parents were friends or acquaintances or something, and that they were childhood playmates.

Actually, that thought never occured to me. Very good thinking....You get a cookie. :cookie:

But I can't help but wonder how Miles and Larry were friends, at any point in time; You'd think they'd have conflicting temperments. I mean, they do now. Edgeworth even states something about "Not wanting to talk about the good old days, especially not with Larry." :eh?:

Just because Larry's and Edgeworth's personalities are so different doesn't mean that they clash. They would probably annoy the hell out of each other (I wrote a one-shot a while ago about it... it's probably on the millionth page of Present Testimony), but deep down they're probably good friends (in 3-5 Edgey mentions "Larry's been my friend since grade school... I don't really remember why"). I always thought of Nick as the glue that kept their charmed circle together.
