Also, Lucas is GREAT if you've mastered his positive abilities (PK Thunder, etc.) But he's almost unplayable if you haven't, when it comes to an Online fight.

In other news, I believe people were talking at one point about which control scheme they use. I'm proud to say that I've trained myself to use the Wiimote-Nunchuck controls. In fact... I find it difficcult to go back to the Gamecube ones now. Customization is the way to go!

Actually, you do use her quite well. You may indeed be one of the best Samus players I've seen yet (although that isn't saying much...). And you aren't a cheap player, either.
In fact, I've noticed that just about every CR player I've faced has played fair and haven't resorted to just spamming the same move over and over again for an entire match. That's pretty much the story with practically half the Sonic players I've met through With Anyone, who just use the homing attack repeatedly.

I must say, I'm not really used to the Brawlification of the characters yet. I'm not as good yet as I used to be in Melee. But there again, if I were, the game would be no fun.
Though it was a little humiliating for me to lose against my friend's little brother after he warned him I'd own him. -_- But I'll keep up.

I tried battling with a friend in Illinois (I live in Washington - not D.C., just regular Washington) and the battles were soooo laglicious. D=
I can't handle Sonic too well. His speed is too much for my meager Brawl skills. *tragic moment*
I usually play with Marth and Pit - sometimes the Ice Climbers, when I feel like it.

You can create your own room and wait for people to join, or you can attempt to join someone else's game. Either way, players in the room are prompted by the game about players trying to join, and can choose to either allow them in or block them. It shouldn't be a problem either way, though, since most of us allow anyone to play at a given time.
Your friend is wrong on both counts. Just because a character is unique or difficult to use doesn't make them terrible characters. I bet your friend merely gets his ass whooped because he doesn't know how to use them properly.

Each person has special abilities and needs while playing. I have found Sonic to be my best character. He's fast enough to get in for a good hit and then get away from the opponent before they strike back!
Some people prefer the slower more powerful attacks, while others prefer distance attacks. It's all in how you play.
