When I was a kid, I always wanted to make video games. And hey, I can now, but my projects usually don't get far. So, throughout secondary school I wanted to do something in the computer industry. My latest job completely put me off it though, but perhaps if I earn a degree after years of OU work I can start high up. Recently, though, writing has interested me. I'd love to be a journalist, or perhaps write a novel. I'm a bit of a dreamer sometimes. Will Powers Still, my dream job would be being an indie game developer. It could be a reality one day, but I've got a lot of work to do.

So, what do you want to be? Or, do you already have a dream job?

Ever since I watched a documentary when I was about four, I've kinda always wanted to be a zoologist. Now, however... I'm taking biology A-level and I just hate it. It's too boring and scientific with no discussion or anything vaguely interesting and it's kinda put me off. >.>

I love psychology, and am thinking about studying that at uni. No idea what I'm gonna do after, though.

I try not to think about the future too much because I don't have any kind of plan in the slightest. I think I'll just end up taking things as they come, you know?

I'm not looking into the far future when I say this, but for now, I think I wanna work in the translation business. Or something along those lines.

In the far future, I'm making comics. I'm excellent artist and I have excellent ideas. Sure, it's somewhat typical to hear at least one or two people to perhaps wanna go into that business, but not that many people are Holy Hell~ And Holy Hell is epic.

... Or maybe I wanna be a space astwonaut :D

Nothing wrong with that if it's a good library. I like libraries. Sadly, most librarians at the libraries near me resemble wombles...

You should visit our library. The Saturday girl is hot me.

Uhm. Speaking from experience, libraries are really nice places to work, but they have a surprisingly huge learning curve; I've been working there for a year and a half and there's still loads of stuff I don't know.

It's fun, though. And one of the least stressful jobs I can think of Larry

Isn't it often a voluntary job if you're at a young age? I'd work at a library, but honestly, the middle-aged women who work there get on my nerves so badly.

Well, I want to join the US Air Force, which I am going to do after the elections being held here.

After that, I am thinking of joining the police force.

Heh, defense attorney is the new dream job, replacing firemen and commandos.

I'm writing the soundtrack to a DS game right now, which is pretty much awesome. I'm pretty frustrated with the software and am suffering from writer's block which is driving me insane what with THE DEADLINE coming up soon.

First choice: Video game programmer and designer (preferably working in Nintendo or Capcom)
Second choice: Lawyer (I'm not sure if I'll be a prosectuting attorney or a defense attorney)
Third choice: Forensic Detective (kind of like Ema)

It's amazing how Phoenix Wright has had an effect on people's career choices. Sadly, it's not as fun in the real world. You'd probably end up working for that company I see on TV: Lawyers4u. Sadshoe

I've always wanted to be a singer or a writer. Everyone I know, though, even the ones who don't know I play PW, keep telling me to be an attorney, especially a prosecutor. I wonder if I should feel special.

Definately a video game designer. I believe that you should work with what you like, and since I like video games, I figure: good job. Then again, that's just my logic.

And despite an obsession with the Phoenix Wright series, I do not wish to become a lawyer. Even with that game, lawyers still get a bad rap, and the job is not as glamourous as the game makes it out to be.

I myself, would NEVER want to become a lawyer, prosecutor, or judge. They are in difficult positions and you may never know if your client is truly guilty or not.

I want to be a High School English teacher. Not the generic one with boring monotonous speaking, tiring assignments and bad reputation. I want to be the Mr. J Keating of my town. Everyone will love to come to my class and I'll make English everyone's favorite subject.

My other passions in writing and acting would be nice to pursue, but there is nothing quite like teaching. Maybe I'll take a year or so off to write and act.

Haha, after I played GS I totally wanted to be a lawyer. So I did a bunch of mock trial stuff and kind of.. hated standing up in front of everyone and talking and would always freak out before a case. So probably not anymore. Now I'm really not at all sure what I want to do yet.. it kind of scares me sometimes because I know the remainder of school will fly by and I won't have any idea what to do.

Something to do on computers, or art, maybe graphic designing or storyboards. :/ For some reason I've always wanted to work in a cubicle so I can decorate it. And because I like tight-knit relationships like the kinds between co-workers. Eh?

I didn't say happy go lucky.
Nor would I aspire to be awkwardly happy all of the time. All I want is personality and to make sure that I sound interested in my subject. My interest and evident enjoyment should inspire the same from students.

Yeah but I do.

Jadius, your concern is pretty well felt in most fields of study, at least those fields that occupy Arts and Sciences; business school you tend to get instructors who are pulled from their field and given cushy paychecks to do very little.

For English at a High School level you just have to make the choice to be active or passive; if you don't become active, the students are just going to go by the schedule, take tests, and then in college be really unprepared for composition courses. If you really want to teach English, I suggest studying English Language Education, Rhetoric and Composition, Literature or Creative Writing. Any of those fields will tap into your interest in the field, and depending on which one you like, you can then try and shift your interests that way and then project it later to your class.

The worst thing you could do (and what most people do) is to get a diploma or a BA in some subject and then think they can teach anything lower than college level.

Actually, what zuddha said is true; the best professors / teachers you'll likely have are the ones who are passionate, enraged, or obsessed. The ones who look like walking zombies, not so much.
