For some reason in my current script, when I try using LarryUnsure or LarryAngry and set it to text-sync the character does not display until the speaking is finished. Head Bang

-Edit

I fixed this.

Just incase others have this issue...

IF you set voice-sync, it will automatically use the _T animation when talking.. i.e

LarryUnsure_T <-- will be used while he is talking if you set LarryUnsure onto him
If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!

I suggest you make it a character that's on most keyboards, like tilde. ~

I just downloaded it. I have yet to try the program, I first wanted to play the tutorials. I go to Runtime, select the player, and it crashes when it's starts up. =(

EDIT: Nevermind. It turns out the Player.exe is intergrated into the program. To play existing projects (such as the tutorials), you need to load them from the actual creator).
Props to Clicky for the avatar! =3

THIS IS HOW YOU ADD CHARACTERS

Image
We're starting from the bottom. At first I make my new case. Wooh.

Image
Now I go into the Character Database and make up my character.

Image
There we go. All the infos added.
But wait, what's this?? Can't find the sprite? Ofcourse not! We didn't add it to the database! Silly us.
Now we click create and next is the folder-work.

Image
Now we go into the "Projects" folder. This folder has all your cases in it.

Image
Hey look! It's our case! We go in here.

Image
We want to edit characters. We go into that folder, ayup.

Image
Now here comes the "tricky?" part. Remember that we made the Display Name "Manella"? This means we need to make a folder called "Manella".

Image
In here we place our .gif files. This, also, needs to be called "Manella". The animations name work like this:
*DISPLAY NAME (Manella)* + Expression + ("_T") + ".gif"
Our default Manella sprite would then be named:
"Manella" + (no expression) + (not talking) + ".gif" aka "Manella.gif".

Image
Now we want his talking pose. We name this the same as the non-talking except we add "_T" after it.

Let's see how it looks in the maker.

Image
Oh my! It's working!

Tadaa! Hope it helped.

Unless it's an actual .exe you're running.
THERE'S A BIG HUGE .EXE CALLED "PHOENIX WRIGHT CASE MAKER" ON THE MAIN FOLDER PATH FOR A REASON D: <

You do the exact same with locations, except another order.

First, go into your Background folder, and add the .pngs you want. Then you go into the Location Database, and enter the name of the .png (without the .png part).
There you go.

Could somebody finish Larrys animations for me? He doesn't have a "Worried" animation and I'm having nothing but troubles trying to create one myself, the transparency is not working at all no matter what I set it to.
or a "Thinking" for that matter.

EDIT:
Yes that one. could you do the thinker as well? that one should be easy to figure. Thanks again.

Wow that character is undoubtable cute. Mind if she makes a guest appearance in my turnabout?

MechaBowser: How do I make it so the screen fades to black, changes to black background, then fades back in?

like 1.3's fadeout fadein commands?

I think I'm using the wrong fade-out, although I have it setting the appropriate background I believe?

How do you delete unwanted ActionLists? For some reason whenever I set the game to start on the second action list it just doesn't register that and starts on the first (blank) actionlist instead.

I also have the same problem as the cute girly avatar person above did. I'm playing around with making Jian (Officer V.C's character) a Defense Attorny (court sprites)*, and when I import her .gifs she looks glitchy in the preview. I can't say if she appears glitchy or not ingame yet.

*BTW, I love how you made it so putting 'FRONT' at the end of the bench sprite makes it appear along with the background.
Props to Clicky for the avatar! =3

That's due to your gif program that, to save disk space, uses functions I cannot repeat.
However, if you, somehow, toggle this off, it'll work.

And to Android 21 3/7:
I spend a few minutes playing with that, but I've got to go now, so this is what I made:

Sure give me a PM with the following so I can make her faifthul -

1 - All animated sprites you've made (So I have some to work with)
2 - Information I'd need for the character page (Height.. a description)
3 - A small roleplay post of you and another character of your choice (Phoenix, maybe?) so I can get the feel of how your character would act.

Ok... I need help making a case... No Tutorial help, but help.

I mean I'd like to be able to make fancases starring my Fanmade Lawyer, but I've hit a snag: I'm not skilled enough with PW style sprites to make him or any of the other characters I'd like to have.

It was for this reason I posted the idea for a fancases subforum in the other thread, so people would be able to post that they need help in certain areas so people who have skills in certain areas could help people with skills in other areas. It's a similar idea to that of the Fan Game Subforum of a Pokemon Forum I'm on.

So until then, if anyone wants to offer to help me, please PM me, as to not fill this thread with offers.

Thank you, MechaBowser, for the Case Maker so that this is possible.

PS: I will be willing to integrate ideas and characters from those helping me into the fancases. Phoenix

What GIF program to you recommend then?

I myself am using Jasc Animation Shop (a program which came free with my old Jasc Paint Shop Pro).

BTW, i'm just grasping the message tools. It would be nice to make the message tool a bit more organised, and possibly have alot of the screens bigger in general (just because the game has a small screen doesn't mean everything does).

Have you ever used RPG Maker XP by any chance? If so, it may be of use to take some leafs when it comes to organisation of the tools (like the event editor, which is more or less the same thing as the Case Maker's actionlists).
