They should have sat Pearl down and explain to her that Morgan's plan was supposed to kill Maya. It wouldn't go over well, but with Phoenix and Maya's help she would have had to accept it.

Actually, the plan could have been prevented by taking Dahlia's photo that Pearl was supposed to use to channel her. Without proper visualization, she would have failed because she doesn't know Dahlia.

She needed the photo... but... she might've been able to remember it... she says that she never saw the face before, other than in the picture, and we don't know if Pearl saw the photo before or not..... Also, if it was taken before Pearl got it, she would've noticed it and contacted Morgan.

I'm not trying to justify their plan (because it WAS pretty stupid), but this was kind of how I saw it while I was playing the case.

It seemed that they did try to keep tabs on Pearl but at some point I guess they lost track of her. When Misty invited Pearl to read books with her after dinner, she excitedly agreed, so it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that she would immediately go to Misty's room after dinner and chores. When she didn't show up however, I guess Misty panicked a bit, also considering that she went to Phoenix asking where Pearl was around the time Iris was ringing the bell, it was almost time for said channeling to start. At that point I guess Misty thought she wouldn't be able to find Pearl in time to keep her from channeling Dahlia if she was already on her way to the Inner Temple (it IS a 20 minute walk), so I guess she did the only thing she could think of to save both Pearl and Maya.

Therefore, because they thought things were going to be easy (Pearl wanting to spend the evening with Misty), they didn't really think they needed a more elaborate plan. (Why did Pearl agree to see Misty if she wasn't planning to go at all in the first place?? ) If they had foreseen this, I guess they could've done something smarter, like tie Misty up before she channeled Dahlia, or lock her up until Maya, Phoenix and Pearl left.

I think Misty carried the sword with her for protection against the unknown. I, for one, carry some sort of weapon with me at all times.
Then again, I am that horribly paranoid person who always checks the shower for murderers before going pee.
Anyway, for all Misty knew, she could come up against some unforeseen obstruction. If she didn't have some defense, anything could happen.
This is just for argument's sake, by the way. I hate Misty.

Hmm... I never really realized how utterly stupid their plan was from the start. I dunno why, but I always seem to accept the game's logic (cuz I'm too lazy to really think about the case and also my brain gets a lil fuzzy after playing for a few hours.) I truly thought that when Godot was referring to Misty "paying the ultimate price", that it meant her own life, not Pearl's. However, now I'm beginning to doubt myself (these are some very good arguments). *sighs* I need to play that case again, my brain is fizzled out just by reading the debate *falls asleep on keyboard* zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
