I grew in the 80s so G1 is a no contest but I also found Armada interesting...yeah the minicon hunt in the beginning make the show like pokemon but that was only first few episodes and later it gets better IMO. Animated is different and I like it a lot. Instead of the same Optimus Prime he's now fresh out of college or something like it and he's new at being a leader and he's got past that's interesting. Now, Beast Wars was kind of okay until later on when it got ridiculous (Mystical beast modes, immortal sparks, plotholes Optimus Prime could drive through, and lame ass characters.
Beast Machines is Beast Wars seasons 4 & 5 and now this show really sucks: For one thing, unexplained plotholes that Unicron could fly through like How Megatron took over Cybertron while he was strapped to the rocket, How Tankorr/ Rhinox became diabolical, how Waspinator got back to the freaking planet, Why Megatron became a genocidal, naturephobe fascist dictator. Why Optimus Primal became a tree hugging hippie? Cybertron becoming Garden at the end? Yeah, I'm sure all the robots are happy about that.
Cybertron had a few good episodes but mostly it sucked. I liked how Lori and the King of Savage world interacted with one another and I liked that the ruler of Speed planet was female...that's it. I hate how the autobots combine with one another and that their transformation sequences take longer than sailors moon's.
Energon is the worst Trasformer series ever for one reason... Kicker. I don't mind kids helping in Transformers at all, but Kicker doesn't help he bosses Ironhide around and complains and hits on Misha the girl he likes. Yeah, he tries to be a bad ass by carrying a modified energon sword and swinging it around, but I don't recall him actually hitting any Decepticons with it. Maybe a terrorcon or something. His real purpose in the series is that for some stupid reason vector sigma scanned him and gave him the power to locate energon. Which I think is a stupider plot point than humans being able to hear mystical cyberplanet keys. Any thoughts or rants?
