"Um...." I hate nights like this. he moaned. "...will it count against me if I answer wrong?" How embarrasing would it be if Maya were here to see this? He would know exactly what she'd say. "Stand up to her, Nick! Don't let her intimidate you!"

He clear his mind and shouted. "Alright, Whiptra! If it's a fight you want, a fight you'll get!"

[[I'll be off for a while after this post. Lab and all.]]

"Then let's get cracking, like my whip!" Whiptra sneered, cracking her whip in the direction of her favorite enemy, the ever-foolish Lawyerman. She expected this fight to take a while, of course, but that was only because she loved to draw out fights a lot--it usually made for a more perfect ending when she would have a spectacular victory--she'd managed to win out over a hero or two before in prior battles.

Pawn? I'd say with my spikey ahir I'd be more of a king myself....which does nothing. He studied his surrounding for a moment, taking in what was behind Whiptra. He grinned, this could work "How about...Pawn five take's rook two!" He shot out a burst of energy, shooting over Whiptra's shoulder. He had no intentions of hitting her, but grabbing what was behind her, the cash register. Gripping his energy rope, he jerked the register free, hurling it toward him, and also...the back of Whiptra's head.

The burst of energy that nearly grazed her shoulder spooked Whiptra somewhat; the perfect, normally-unflappable villain therefore tilted somewhat out of fear rather than any other foresight. As a result, the register struck her shoulder; the pain caused her hand to relinquish the grip on the diamonds within.

"Well-played move, oh spiky pawn. But it's not checkmate yet!" Here she gave a sinister grin, kicking a few of the diamonds in Lawyerman's direction. She didn't expect them to distract him. No, she knew that diamonds were the hardest substance on the planet, and hoped that possibly some of the diamonds would scratch and possibly weaken some of Lawyerman's armor.

"Whoa!" Lawyerman shouted, trying his best to dodge the thousand dollar projectiles. One managed tp nail him in the chestplate, scratching the top part of his L. "Dammit! It's gonna take weeks to buff that out!" Another daimond hit him square on the goggle, causing one of his visor glass to crack. Now he was impared in one eye. That's it. I'm gonna check in with Ema and see if I can't get these goggle incased with something harder. Focusing as best as he could, he pointed his finger at Whiptra, shouting "Take That!" A blast came from his finger, this version ment to push back, or knock out opponents.

Whiptra skidded back a few feet, hearing a crack below her--the heel of her left high-heel had broken from the strain of her trying to dig it into the ground to slow her skid.
"You...! How dare you mar my perfect heels!" Now she was angry. Very angry. An angry Whiptra was a dangerous Whiptra; now she would be out for blood. There was added ferocity in the next whip strike she would send-not at Lawyerman himself, but at the diamonds. Once more, she would aim for scattering them at him. She'd seen the damage they'd made on his armor and his goggles--she was willing to risk her bounty to get revenge for the marred perfection. "Eat diamond dust, Lawyerman!"

Oh lord.... There was no way he could dodge all of the daimonds in time. Thinking of the only possible solution, Lawyerman quickly shouted "Hold it!" Firing his binding rope toward the counter and pulled it quickly toward him. He ducked for cover, shielding his head with his hands as the diamonds collided with the wooden frame. When the barrage seised, he shoved the counter toward Whiptra, sending hound another "Take That!" to increase it's momentum. He had to end this quickly, so he fley foward with the counter, hoping to catch her off guard if she managed to break through the counter. His plan was to hit her with his most powerful attack, "Objection!" at point blank.

Whiptra analyzed the situation--it was a true catch-22 if she ever saw one. All she could do for now was close her eyes and use the strength of her most vehement whip-strike yet to knock the counter somewhat to the side. Now she clenched to her whip, opening her eyes back up and glancing to the side to see a pillar to her left. Reacting as quickly as she could, she motioned to whip at the pillar and pull herself aside. This wasn't perfect--no, it was far from it. This man brought out all the imperfections in her.

Lawyerman shouted "Objection!" as Whiptra pulled away from him with a pillar. The attack completly missed, but sent rubble and debree flying from the blast. When the smoked cleared out, A huge hole was left in the back wall. Lawyerman flung his cape and turned toward Whiptra. "Give it up, Whiptra. It's pointless to continue this. All of your loot has been scattered or ruined by our fight. Just turn yourself in before one of us get's killed." That's really the one thing he felt he couldn't do. No matter what his foe has done, he would never take a life, unless it ment to protect those he care about the most. "Just let it go, Whiptra."

Even though she was one of the most venomous villains, she too shared the sentiment of not wanting to take a life. However, she didn't want to turn herself in--the power, the prestige, her perfect record; all of it would be taken away as both her supervillain self and her "normal" self, and she just couldn't let that happen.

"Oh, I'll let it go--for now. But I'm not going to turn myself in, Lawyerman." Her voice dripped with venom. "One day soon we'll continue this fight in a safer place. But until then..." Here she swished her whip to remove it from the pillar and let it drape limply over her shoulder as she walked by Lawyerman, only to scoop up a small handful of her bounty. "...Remember...you shouldn't mess with perfection."

Hakuro jumped back a bit as a defensive maneuver when Engarde spun around to face him. He then smirked and bowed formally as if meeting with someone of high political stature, "Hakuro de Killer, how do you do? Now, as for your question, I know you have information on Shelly de Killer's whereabouts and I want them immediately. If I don't attain what I am searching for, it might make things a little... complicated..." Hakuro gestured to the dagger he was holding in his left hand and started spinning it professionally around his index finger, showing he was deathly serious and rather impatient about attaining this information.

"The only information I have on his whereabouts are that I'm sending him after a certain rival of mine." Engarde frowned, tilting his head just barely while crossing his arms. "I don't have much more than that, sorry to say." Here he gave an endearing smile, the type that really seems to lull some to a false sense of security. For a moment, the actor played with one of his wrist-phones, opening and closing it; it was amusing to him--and it was the only thing he could think of to do when he felt like playing around with something. "So, tell me. Who sent you?" Here his voice grew serious and his visible eye narrowed.

Hakuro grabbed the hilt of the dagger he had been spinning and shoved it on the inside of his belt before addressing the man, "I'm not under orders from anyone. Now, tell me who and where this rival of yours is..." Hakuro could see that the kind exterior of the man was slowly melting away as his facial expressions became much more serious. Hakuro didn't reach for any weapons, but remained on his guard as this man was not one to take lightly. Hakuro then placed his hands in his pockets and spoke clearly, "...and how you initially contacted Shelly de Killer."

Engarde narrowed his eyes. "Someone recommended him to me to off my rival, the man known as Juan Corrida." Here Engarde's visible eye shifted to the side somewhat. "As for where Juan is, I would have no idea. Knowing him he's trying to find a kidnap victim to try to get that 'Bear Idol' from Lawyerman. He didn't quite succeed last time--Riff was a bad idea for a kidnap victim if you ask me. Though it was smart of Corrida to keep his trap shut when he slammed that guitar over Riff's head." Sometimes the two-faced villain just didn't know when to shut up, but this was all just another way to attempt to charm Hakuro.

Back in the COURT HQ, MAtt stared at the screen.
In the name of all that is dude Love and Mick Foley, what is going on there? he wondered. Unless the cameras were malfunctioning, there were villains and heroes all over the bleeding place.
He had made his decision. He stood up and grabbed his hat from a hook above his desk.
If you want something done right, you'd better do it yourself, he thought, grabbing a gun and jumping into his car, heading for the scene of the battle.

Hearing footsteps, Kyrie peeked out of the bathroom, holding the lighter out of the door. Thank goodness he didn't see me trying to burn bacteria in here...she thought to herself, ducking back in.

Meanwhile, Whiptra started to saunter by Lawyerman as best she could with a heel broken on her high-heeled boot. She was determined to make off with at least a small amount of loot. She shot a glance at Lawyerman. "...Aren't you gonna stop me, fool?"

Listening to all that Two-Face had to say, he looked at him, unamused, "I couldn't care less about your rival. All I plan to concern myself with is Shelly de Killer. Now, I will take my leave. Thank you for the information..." Hakuro took out a fog canister and pulled the pin. Releasing a cloud of fog, Hakuro fled the scene and headed for Lawyerman's location using a GPS handed out to all COURT members normally used to assist other heroes. After a few minutes of following the GPS signal, he spotted Lawyerman fighting Whiptra. It had seemed that Lawyerman had the upper hand, but he wasn't completely sure, so he appeared out of visual range of both of them and smirked, arms crossed, "Well well... Lawyerman, leader of the Heroes, we meet at last. And as for you, miss Whiptra, you look as if you have seen better days..."

Hakuro smirked a bit and mentally prepared himself to grab the whip should Whiptra attack him. he then looked at Whiptra and responded, "I have no need to 'cut in', as you mention it, but merely wait until Mr. Lawyerman here finishes dealing with you so I may speak with him. Oh, and..." Hakuro broke into a cold, intimidating glare, intentionally attempting to pierce through Whiptra's soul with this icy stare as he responded, "...don't speak to me about perfection, girl. Such a thing doesn't exist in the entirety of the universe. To prove it, I could just kill you now, but then you could not learn this truth for yourself."

From 150 feet behind Engarde, Shelly de Killer hung up his phone. Now that Hakuro was gone, he could carry out his plan. True, he could have done it with Hakuro still there, but it would have taken very precise movement. This way was much easier and less risky.

His plan was very simple. Strangle Engarde while at the same time reminding him of his betrayal from years ago. Make sure the target's last thoughts would be his mistake of crossing him... that was the only way to carry out his revenge.

Things had been complicated by the appearance of Aquanine. He was still watching Engarde closely, as if he expected something else to happen tonight. That problem could be easily remedied, however. Keeping an eye on his primary target, the assassin slowly started melting into the floor. At the same time, his entire appearance grew darker until it was almost pitch black. He had, effectively, become a shadow.

Once his transformation was finished, the assassin started making his way across to Aquanine. His intent: to knock him unconscious. Of course, if he decided to leave himself... well, that just made things much easier.

((Yes, it requires his consent either way. He needs to be able to defend himself if the player feels he can))

All that Whiptra would do for now to this stranger is give him her piercing glare without speaking a word. Her only fight was with Lawyerman--and thus she turned to face him while starting to walk backward. To the other, she spoke. "He'll never get the chance to if I get away first." She then dug around in the cleavage of her uniform--it was a catchall space for small weapons to be placed, then pulled out a pair of push-button activated smoke bombs. She clicked the buttons, then threw the smoke bombs on the ground and prepared for the smoke to block the view before she would make her escape.

Using the swiftness from his decades of training, he quickly caught up to Whiptra and stood in front of her, blocking her path. Hakuro looked at the girl coldly and reached for her wrist, "A poor choice of words, Miss Whiptra... now I have no choice but to interfere to get my information..." While Hakuro reached for Whiptra's wrist with his right hand, he reached for his dagger with the left. While this appeared to leave him open, he was prepared to grab Whiptra's whip with his right hand, should she intend to use it.

Judging and analyzing the situation quickly, Whiptra drew back. She wouldn't use the main entrance she'd been planning to exit from. However, she saw the hole that had been created in the back wall during her fight with Lawyerman and motioned at first as though she were going to go around Hakuro--a feinting maneuver--then made a break for the back. She wasn't about to let herself be trapped like some foolishly foolish fool.

It was just then that the retreating Kabonginator chanced upon the scene as well.

"Well, well. Look what we have here. A trapped little whippy-girl." Kabonginator taunted.

Whiptra lashed out toward her fellow villain. "Either you help or you shut up you fool!"

Always willing to capitalize on the situation, Kabonginator decided to make the wiser of two choices: assist his fellow villain. "Then help I will, Lady Whips-a-lot."

He's no Shatter, but he'll have to do as an ally in this fight against this pawn and this crazy rook, Whiptra thought to herself.

Hakuro fell for the feint, but then turned to see El Kabonginator and stopped chasing after Whiptra. He took out a pocket sized book and flipped through the pages until he arrived on the one he was looking for, closed it, and placed it back in his white suit. He then looked at El Kabonginator and addressed him, "Supervillain El Kabonginator. Real name Juan Corrida. I've been expecting you. Your good friend Two-Face a.k.a. Matt Engarde placed a hit on you, hiring a man we all know very well to finish the deed, Shelly de Killer." Hakuro then draws his dagger and expertly spins it around his finger while looking at both El kabonginator and Whiptra.

"Now, you have three choices. First, you can allow yourself to be arrested here and now. That way, you will be under the protection of the heroes and of COURT. When Shelly arrives, I will deal with him personally. Second choice, you escape with Whiptra and Shelly finds you. He kills you both and I still have to look for him, but you and Whiptra will be dead. Third, you attack me and I kill you while waiting for Shelly to arrive. Whiptra huffed some, digging back to find all the loot she'd stashed in her cleavage, throwing it down on the ground. "Fine. These jewels aren't worth the trouble. But I refuse to turn myself in. For now, I will make my retreat." In her mind, she grumbled to herself. So much for perfect plan. Anything but perfect. With that, she turned to walk away. "Go ahead. Keep the jewels. I don't want them anymore." She wouldn't show her face, but there were tears running down her cheeks.

Kabonginator's jaw gaped. "So you're just gonna throw away all that loot and run off, Whippy?! That's crap!" He didn't see her crying, however; he was just as callous as ever. "You're such a wimp without Shatter, aren't you? Or do you need to chase after Cravatman as your image of perfection?"

Here he was cut off by the crack of a whip against his cheek. "...Shut. Up. You. Foolish. Fool."

Matt slammed on the brakes, and his car screeched to a halt. He stared at all the superpowers.
"By order of the COURT!" he shouted into his megaphone. "You are to stop this immediately! I can and will use force if need be!"

Aquinine heard him, but was busy right now. Getting a brainwave, he transformed into Shatter and walked up to Whiptra.

Hakuro saw Whiptra retreat and didn't see Juan following after her, "So, you choose to stay here and save Whiptra's life by not being around her? Very chivalrous of you. Now, you still have a choice to make as far as what you choose to do on the information I told you..." Shortly after saying this, his 'superior', if you could call him that, arrived on the scene. Apparently, he was going to use force to take everyone down if they didn't come willingly.

"Mr. Rage, need I remind you..." Hakuro faced away from his boss, looking at him from over his shoulder, "...that the only reason I joined COURT was to find Shelly de Killer and eliminate him? Please do not get in my way or I will have to deal with you as well..." Hakuro then stood there, spinning his dagger around his finger, waiting for Shelly de Killer. Then, a thought struck him.

"Mr. Lawyer, if I remember correctly, Two-Face a.k.a. Mr. Engarde hired Shelly de Killer on one additional occasion. What happened between Shelly de Killer and Two-Face by the end of that trial!?"

As for the blind desire comment, I have followed this man since the beginning of all of this madness and even further back than that. Even you, the leader of COURT, couldn't comprehend how deep this little rabbit hole goes..."

Hakuro, still spinning the dagger around his index finger, looks square into Matt's eyes, "I would say it is best that you merely go after Whiptra and leave this particular situation to Mr. Corrida, Mr. Lawyer, and myself as we are the only ones even remotely involved. If you do wish to stop me, it would be best to wait until the immediate matter at hand is resolved..."

Whiptra froze in her steps, feeling as though she heard Shatter. She glanced around a few times before her sights set upon the image of Shatter; she didn't know that it was Aquanine and not Shatter. "...Adrian...it's no use." She seemed almost disheartened by the victory so succinctly snagged from her grasp. "It's no use at all..."

Kabonginator, or rather, Juan, froze in his place. "...So it's lose my image or lose my life, you say? I'm not going to 'lose' my life again. Never again! I spent nine years...NINE YEARS!...in hiding. Nine years having to pretend I was dead. And I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!" His tone was laced with the same dangerous desperation that he'd had in the daycare. "And I'm sure as hell not going to let my image be taken from me...not after nine years of trying to rebuild it behind the scenes as a dead man..."

Hakuro looked at Juan, "Well, after nine years in such hiding, it would be hard both ways. Shelly de Killer IS coming after you exactly like last time and you either vouch for protection by turning yourself in or guarantee yourself a swift, yet painful death. Seems simple to me, look out for your life first and your image second." He then turned to Matt, who seemed to be in a bit of a rage, pardon the pun.

"Now Mr. Rage, after several years of searching for this man to kill him myself, you would think that there would be no way to stop me, but here you are attempting to block my path. I will not strike you first, but I will defend myself if need be. As for that plan you mentioned..."

Hakuro looked straight into Matt's eyes, "It wouldn't have anything to do with Mr. Commander, would it...?"

Then, he looked at Juan.
"What do you want, Taco Bell?" he said scathingly.
