I can't be the only one who hasn't abandoned Samus...

She has one of the best FS's in the GAME, IMO. It's great to use if you know HOW to use it effectively... Also, ZSS helps for a Change of Pace. One of my best fights with her was against R_Bond, I believe it was... yes.

Absolutely Fantastic ending to that match.

Actually, it has one problem:

Apparantly, you can attack it to shrink the size of the iceberg... a pretty bad reprocussion, but I don't see people doing it anyways. :gymshoe:

That's true, but in all the time sI used it, no one was able to attack it (I positioned it in such a way where people were practically forced off the screen or into immovable corners :godot:

Also, most people don't KNOW it can be attacked. Heck, for a while, I didn't know I could move the angle of Samus's FS, but I learned it from reading the FS Trophy of hers.

The greatest fighting games ever made have been the Smash Bros. games...
With that track record, and all the info that was flying around BEFORE Brawl came out... I would be surprised if ANYTHING out sold Brawl!

I think the PSFAIL fanboys are just jealous that the Wii is out selling them, has more games, and that Brawl is the greatest game ever!

Well, I finally got a chance to take on someone from the forum (Regy).
Other than the 1-2 second delay between commands (the response time was slower for Samus) during the fights, it was really fun.
You really had me on edge for most of our fights.

I don't see the problem of choice. Use the hammer on Liquid Snake. You are guaranteed to get Ashley by playing brawls nonstop. However, Liquid Snake is next to impossible to acquire if you're not really really good with a character (I am awesome with Lucas on Battlefield using a very cheap trick to deal maximum damage to CPU players in Cruel Brawl and launch them really far to boot while at the same time avoiding attacks and grabs.) With this, my maximum has been eight. You have to know how not to get attacked which is harder than it sounds, especially in a 1v5 match where a single attack from any of those five could defeat you quickly. I used up my hammers before I found how useful they would be later on. I'm such an idiot. I used one to unlock Big Blue, even though unlocking it is cake and the rest on other random junk that would've been easy to unlock... T_T

Normally, I would go with what I did and say "Unlock Ashley" but After reading Hakuro's post, he's got a point: it's difficult as hell to get that particular challenge completed... if you're patient, you CAN complete it without a hammer though!

Then you can consider other uses for the Hammer in the future!

I've been SO close to earning Liquid Snake... I'll keep at it. I used a hammer to get Ashley though, as I know I won't do 100 hours offline brawling without cheating...

As for opponents online, I have to agree, I do tend to get a lot of Ike, Marth and Sonic. The others are occasionals for the most part compared to those three, though I do see Zelda/Shiek and Snake a little more often. Just as well I tend to school them in the ways of Kirby and Pikachu... and I hardly see anyone use those two.

I don't think I've played against anyone online using Ice Climbers, Mario (!) and Jigglypuff...

I've gotten much better with using Lucas thanks to SSE.
I didn't like Ness in Melee, could never get his up/B to cooperate. But Lucas is pretty easy for me to use. Killed Taboo with just the up/B more than I did with all three of the characters I died with before getting Lucas! XD

Huh. Ice Climbers are insanely strong when you master their throws and desyncing well. Plus, they're two cute eskimos with hammers. What's not to like?

(Then again, I guess people go for the cool looks and easy C-Stick spamming.

I always went for the good old fashioned buttons play style.
Partially because I tried the c-stick style and I couldn't get a feel for it.

Yeah, will look it up for you tomorrow. I'm not sure about the lag between Europe and America, though, is it bad? (I've been playing Mario Kart Wii between Europe and Japan flawlessly, but I've heard different about Brawl.)

In SSB, Ness freaking rocked, but he really got the short end of the stick in Melee. Never stopped me from playing as him though.
As for the whole Lucas and Ness thing, they both got their perks and quirks--it just depends on your style.

I have had some OK brawls with people in Europe, and crappy ones with people right here in Texas...
I think it depends on the quality of the internet on both ends and how many people are playing online at the time.
I have all the characters again so I'll probably get back to online play again soon.

I also finished all the single player events! (And one or two two player events on my own. XD)

I don't think I've played against anyone online using Ice Climbers, Mario (!) and Jigglypuff...

I love beating people with characters no one uses. Therefore, my main is Jigglypuff. If anyone goes against me online, chances are that I will use Jigglypuff first. My second favorite is Pikachu (I think it's the pokemon influence from a young age). And I can also use Ice Climbers, although I don't like to use them in Brawl that often.

I use the C stick a bit, but mostly for instant smash attacks coming out of another move to counter a possible counter. Just guarantees against a "cock up" in the timing.

Oh and I actually fought a Mario tonight, so that just leaves Jigglypuff and Ice Climbers to face in human form...

I like the giant Jigglybut glitch in the LoZ bridge level.
You get the smash ball as Jiggly and wait for the destroyed portion of the bridge to start coming back.
Jump into the empty spot and use the FS, you will grow to max then take a hit from the bridge and fall over.
You can try to walk around while huge but you walk really slow. You cam still attack and even grab other players who float in mid air while you hold them. They fly off screen like nothing!
I only tried it in training mode so I don't have picks. I'll try to get some later.
