Is this ever resolved at all? Is something said that I'm completely blanking on right now, or is this never touched upon again? I'm guessing Godot let that rumor float along himself (I can see Gumshoe buying that completely, haha), but there's no evidence I can recall for that.

If that's the case, then maybe he was just BSing? I don't know. It's just kind of weird that something like that is thrown out and then not really picked up again.

1. Atmey's an arrogant liar; the kind of person who edits Wikipedia without citation.
2. Edgeworth knew Diego Armando was an incredible defense attorney, and acknowledged that man at one point. Atmey himself then made the deduction of "go + do", being an Ace Detective and all.
3. Edgeworth heard about Godot, and acknowledged him without ever actually seeing him himself.
I vote for 1, but it's sort of impossible to prove any of them. It's not so important anyway.

Edgeworth was in Germany until recently, correct? He might of just not heard of him since he hadn't been around for a while.
