Apart from that... I'd like to see another case where the defendant actually is guilty. But maybe not the final case, this time... and one where you don't know he's guilty until near the end (not like 2-4, where you know before you go into court).

I actually don't want to see Maya and Pearl in this game.
Don't get me wrong! Those two rock, and I want a confirmation as to what happened to them since GS3 as much as the next person. However, I consider the Apollo arc to be separate from the Phoenix arc, and because of that, I wouldn't want to see a relapse of the Phoenix arc.
By this, I mean the whole Kurain Channeling technique (now known in this reply as KCT). GS4 starts a whole new era, and I would rather learn more about Apollo, the Gramaryes or other new things, instead of another case involving the KCT. Not to mention many new players have started with Apollo Justice, and if I was one of those people and the KCT returned, I would be confused to heck as to what it is, since it was so well introduced in the past three games, and if Phoenix/Maya/Pearl says "Oh, the KCT? Yeah, I was involved in some cases about that several years ago", I wouldn't want to have to buy the previous games just to understand the KCT.
That would annoy me as someone who's played the previous games before, I wouldn't want someone explaining to me what the KCT is in GS5 if I'm already familiar with it, just so they can inform the newer players.
That's not the only point. The other reason I wouldn't want to see Maya or Pearl is because of Mia. Because the Fey's signature are their KCT, Mia is bound to be involved, and if she is, that'd be quite a waste of time, in my opinion. Why would Mia need to be involved, now that Phoenix has matched her talents as a lawyer, if not surpassed them? And what relation does Mia have with Apollo? Mia was Phoenix's mentor, but to Apollo, she's just a stranger. Plus Phoenix doesn't need help from Mia, he's smart enough to figure everything out on his own.
One other thing that I'm worried about is Maya and Pearl's possible attitude change. People can change very easily over a time period of seven years (just look at Phoenix!), I'm worried that Maya and Pearl will either change the wrong way, or won't change at all. Maya was cheeky, mischievous and a troublemaker at 17, I don't know what I want her to be like at 24. If she's very serious, it won't be Maya anymore, and if she hasn't changed at all, then how did she survive being the Master for so long without getting chucked out? The same for Pearl as well. She was shy, and unfamiliar with the outside world. She's had seven years since then, is she really going to still be that clueless at fifteen? Or is she going to change so much that she won't be Pearl anymore? If they stay the way they are, they will act even less like their age, and that's just silly.
I'm not objecting to every PW character to making a return, I still want Larry and Gumshoe to return (provided Gumshoe makes a one or two case appearance, instead of taking Ema's role), because they've reached their peak of growing up, and I think they're still going to be the same guys they were, regardless of the seven years that passed, and we'll still love them.
Bring on the pelting.

I also want Pheonix to actually be in a Mia-esque role this time, instead of Trucy and the Prosecution trying to fill it. I want him to actually be in the defense bench at really hard parts and give you vague Mia like hints.
I want more magic & have it be like the new spirit-channelling, like have Trucy actually use magic tricks to help you.
I want Apollo to develop, right now he's sorta like a Phoenix clone to the point where you can feel like you're still playing as Phoenix. I'd like it if he had a tough moral choice eerily similar to one Phoenix had, but he makes a very different choice. I want the differences between him and Phoenix become much more apparent in the next game.
And I want a prosecutor that is like Apollo's Edgeworth, a prosecutor that's epic to go against.

- No old characters X_X As much as I adore them, Polly needs his own arc too. This new spinoff game should cover everyone's adoration for everyone else.
-Klavier not feeling the urge to help me all the time. Srsly, I knew what I had to do before he had to feel like dropping obvious hints.
- I'm probably the only person in the universe saying this, but more Mason system. If they take the time to develop it more, it could be SO awesome. And I very much enjoyed using it once I understood what was going on.
- The jury system to be fleshed out and used as a technique. IE, having to win over jury with your testimony, etc. I was hoping that would happen. ><

A: Finally tie up the Phoenix Wright era.
B: FINALLY pass the buck to Apollo, considering he was REALLY overlooked in GS4.
C: It would perhaps be one of the most (If not THE MOST) interesting cases ever.

-Apollo gets some incriminating evidence against long-time crime lord Bruto Cadaverini. His hitmen almost strike you down when, out of nowhere, Mask*DeMasque and his beautiful sidekick come in on a motorcycle to your aid, scaring off the hitmen non-lethally.
...and I think that's all I want. Not crammed into one game, of course. I would just like to see all of this occur over time as the majority is sidestory.

*More about Apollo's family. Really, how much do we know about him and his past? Who's his father? Why did he want to become a lawyer? I hate that we learned virtually nothing about his past in his own game, and I'd rather not wait until the third.
*I don't want them to be a main part of the story, but I want Edgeworth, Franziska, Gumshoe, Maya, Pearl, and even Iris to at least be MENTIONED. A name drop would be fantastic, or even just a reference that more experienced players would get, and I'd be on cloud nine. Hey, if Phoenix gets his bade back, we could even have a brief flash to his case ("I wonder how Mr. Wright's doing...") and see he's battling Edgeworth or Franziska. Nothing that would make newbies go "Bwuh? Who are these guys?", but something for the vets to enjoy and YAY! over.
*Lana being the next prosecutor would be awesome, but I don't know how realistic it is. I want her to at least show up, since she did say she'd find a way to get back on the force.
*More entertaining filler cases. I enjoyed Turnabout Corner, but it was nothing too hilarious, and at least in my opinion Turnabout Serenade wasn't funny at all. Well, except for Valant. I wouldn't complain to something with Iridium Samurai (or whatever that franchise would be up to now), so long as it brings the lulz.
*Like Prosecutor Lana, I don't know how possible this is, but I'd like Kristoph back. Not as the big bad again, but (and I've seen the idea described like this in a few forums) with more of a "Hannibal Lector" role- Helping Apollo with a case (probably the last one) in exchange for ... something. It's more likely they'll save Kris's return for the third game, but still, I think it's a neat idea.

I want to see the Feys again. As much as I enjoyed the dysfunction in the Fey Clan, I want them to at least make an appearance to clear up the questions that might have been given birth at the end of Trials and Tribulations. There's probably some time gaps that have been left unexplained, so I'd like them explained!

Both, if I'm being really honest! But especially an in-game one.
And I'm really against the idea of Lana being a prosecutor, after her actions in 1-5. I don't mind her having a quick cameo or two, but I don't want her as the main GS5 prosecutor.

Return of Phys-Locks, but Maya (New Master) super charges it with even more energy so its red. It can pry further into to people's hearts and break the the tightest of kept secrets. (Black Phys-Locks)

I really, REALLY want some of the events of Gyakuten Kenji to have repercussions in the next Apollo Justice game. Bring Edgeworth back with PURPOSE AND CONTINUITY, that'd be the most awesome thing ever.
Another thing I'd want (if not for GS5, maybe for GS6?) is for Phoenix and Edgeworth to run a case... AND FOR APOLLO TO BE THE PROSECUTOR! Watch as Phoenix dives down in agony when Apollo catches his bluffs EVERY SINGLE TIME (and Edgeworth freaking out: "How does he DO that?")

Admitting to forging evidence would instantly vaporise any sympathy the judge and prosecutor would have for her. This means she would go to prison and be there for a while. I seriously doubt she would have an easy time in jail, having prosecuted many of the criminals in there. She would either have been kept in solitary or lived in constant fear of her life for her entire time in prison. She might have even had to do horrible things to survive. (join a gang, become someone's bitch, etc.)
Perhaps a case where a recently released Lana is accused of a murder, and is ( A ) somehow involved with the victim and ( B ) automatically assumed to be guilty because she is an ex-con.
