"It's a long story..." Floyd trailed off. "We've got time," Peter said gruffly. Floyd sighed. "It started with my first mission with the 22nd. We had to go to the Bering Strait to secure and destroy a nuclear weapon that was being held on an oil tanker. When we found the bomb, we couldn't dispose of it or its codes, which I should have done. The tanker was attacked and sank, and we got off the ship in time. A few hours later, the bomb was secured by Britain and was brought to the USA." Peter nodded.

Annabelle heard loud voices, soft voices, and sniffling. She moved closer towards the house it was coming from. Whoever was in there, they reminded her of her parents. Yelling, whispers, and lots of crying and blaming. A window was open, and Annabelle ran over to it, crouched. She sat under the window, being comforted by other human voices. She smiled.

Her smiled faded quickly. Annabelle heard the word 'bomb'. Was that what happened to everyone? The houses?

Her parents?

"Then, two days after my last mission, where my friends sacrificed themselves, an undercover Russian found the codes and activated the nuke, killing thousands. When it got out that the bomb was Russian made, all Hell broke loose. The U.S retaliated, wiping out Western Russia with nuclear strikes. Every country with nuclear capability tied to Russia bombed the U.S and all of their allies retalliated, causing nuclear war, ending in over 5.5 billion casualties and whole continents exterminated." Floyd sobbed.

Cara reassuringly put her hand on Floyd's shoulder. "Floyd, that wasn't your fault." She was trying, quite successfully actually, to keep her own voice from cracking. "You were... lucky. We all were." She had to stop to take a breath before continuing. "Peter and I are especially. You came back, Floyd. That makes us very lucky."

"I can't believe you. You think you should have died? Then die now. We don't need weakness. Not now." Peter turned around and walked slowly. Floyd knew he was right and stopped crying.

Cara couldn't think of anything to say. Which was rather convenient, since she had nearly lost her composure. Her brother Jack had died because of this mess- mess being the biggest understatement of the century- and it had taken her a long time to stop blaming herself for it. She knew exactly what was happening to Floyd.

Cara was REALLY confused now. "Peter? What happened?" She had no clue why Peter would be discharged. Her best guess was that he might have disobeyed a commanding officer; Peter never was the type to handle authority too well. Still, it was just a guess.

After getting to the meeting ground with the other militia members, the self-proclaimed town head began to make what could be called a speech. " Survivors of the Fallout, listen to me. Our village is, as we speak, being attacked by some sort of unknown force on the southeast wall. You, our militia, are to locate this problem, and eliminate it. Weapons may be obtained from the Iron-smith, but they are few, so some of you may have to settle for the jagged metal in your hip-flask. Now go, and eliminate this... threat." He then stepped down from his position and went into the north city tower, the base of operations for high ranked officials. The Iron-Smith then called over to the militia, who rushed over to him to receive assorted slightly distorted metal instruments, of which Nathaniel obtained a slightly curved longsword. The militia men then all dashed toward the southwest gate to see what was attacking their city.

It appears I have started a roleplay called A World of Super Humans. You should join it.

Peter heard the announcment and ran to his house. He led the militia and had one of the only guns left. He loaded it and called out to his friend Charlie. Name: Charlie Dublin. Job: Militia Captain. Charlie heard the announcement and loaded another gun, and they ran to the frontlines.

A scout who had been sent forward earlier then ran forward. " A-a beast! A great, two-headed deformed-" The scout never finished, as he was swiftly crushed by a massive gnarled paw as he said deformed. Nathaniel looked up and saw a large monster that could of one been called a wolf, but seemed to have merged with other nearby fauna, creating some sort of hybrid between a wolf and a bear. Bear-Wolf then let out a deafening roar as it hurtled toward the men, forcing some men from the left flank to be thrown up into the air like toys, bones crackling as they fell. Nathaniel then brought his sword to his side, and waited for the beast to approach.

It appears I have started a roleplay called A World of Super Humans. You should join it.
