- Assistant whacking ace attorney with stuff. I was already rolling my eyes when Maya whacked Phoenix with the scshito, was flabbergasted when Trucy was moronic enough to spray Apollo with the luminol and try to x-ray him with that machie thing. It's not funny or amusing...

- Ladder vs. stepladder - Actually not tired of this but some might be.

That's all I can think of for now...

those are practically the only recurring gags in the series, apart from perhaps the uselessness and cheapness of the attourney's badge. And if you're tired of stepladder/ladder just don't inspect them.

Stepladder/ladder is fine.

Fireplace/hearth is different however...though it was only in T&T and JFA.

I'd like to do away with the tutorial and just have a nice sized case with Winston as prosecutor.

I'm with Phoenix_Apollo. I want it to feel like Winston ISN'T a total idiot, or just trying to lose on purpose. Or they could just get rid of him! XD *shot*

Well, we had that kind of had that with cocky Winston against young Mia. But poorn Winston got totally shoved in AJ. "Don't I get to prosecute anyone?"

I think it would be nice if they mixed things up a bit, instead of always having the predictable investigation-trial-investigation pattern :p

It's not that bad, but it's the only thing that bothers me the teensiest bit n.n

The problem with Payne in the more epic openers (T + T and AJ) is that although he does fine in the earlier bits he gets overshadowed by the villains of the cases
Spoiler:
dahlia and Kristoph
In my opinion JFA had Payne prosecuting best as he helped Wellington argue his case unlike in Trials and Tribulations and Apollo Justice where the murderer did all the arguing and Payne did essentially nothing. Poor Payne, what a guy.

One word: PANTIES. Ugh. That got old really fast. During 4-2, it seemed like every other word out of Trucy's mouth was "panties".

(I actually have grown fond of the ladder/stepladder gag.)

Though the tutorial cases do get annoying, they have to be there. What if you lived in a city where they sold only JFAs and it happened to be your first AA game? The point is, not every new player is going to get the first game of the series. If someone bought AJ as their first AA game and IF it had no tutorial case, they would be pretty darned confused on how to play it. That is why Winston Payne exists and so do the tutorial cases.

But at least a few of the tutorial cases actually have something to do with the final case in each game.

I think one thing that shouldn't be there is the ace attorney's surprise in the first case about the way court works, and a possible way of skipping that part entirely. Believe it or not- there are some returning gamers.

:objection:

Some people can only get the used version of the game, NOT ALWAYS IN THE ORIGINAL BOX!
Such as when I got Justice for All, there was only one copy between 2 stores that I went to, and it was out of the box!

(I personally didn't need the manual, because I got AA first, and I read the manual for that as well >_>) But you get my point.

ALSO, some people are hands-on learners, and don't learn unless they do as they learn. Some people can't understand things simply by reading them.

I don't know. I want to see Charlie again... I think I didn't like the gag about how many Steel Samurai DVDs Phoenix was watching.

No one reads manuals and it still isn't enough. You may know the basic mechanics but you need to do easy stuff 1st. Take a game you play (especially if you are new to the series), and imagine if the 1st dungeon/level didn't exist and it just threw you further into it.

A new person, even if they know the controls and stuff, might not be ready for a full blown case because they need to get good at catching contradictions and stuff. They need to get experience and the manual isn't a replacement for that.

I would have to agree. Starting off with the easy contradictions does make it easier to build into. Although i do wish there were more Court time for the game. That's my favourite part of the game. The Music, stumping the prosecution and eventually wining the case. Very satisfying. :edgy:

Exactly like Maplestory.

They have tutorials for everything, and they force you to go through it (you can't leave Maple Island (the tutorial land) until level 7) with easier quests, teaching you how to fight simple enemies such as snails and shrooms. They teach you everything but the fact that leveling up will be a pain in the ass :yuusaku: Just telling you wouldn't be all that good, especially when you have 10 year old noobs lying about their age screaming "I GO GAY FOR CO CO PUFFS! LOLOLOLOL!!"

How about... an optional tutorial? As in, in the beginning of the game they can ask you if you want to refresh your mind about the court procedures. If you choose "NO", the "tutorial" lines in the first case are taken out, and the case can move a bit quicker. I don't know how that would affect the story (if it were like 2-1, it may, but if it's like 3-1, it may not... IMO), but it's an option.

I hope Apollo can figure things out on his own in this one. I couldn't stand all the points in the game where I knew how to explain the contradiction but Apollo needed help from everybody in the courtroom...

gimmick based prosecutors. don't get me wrong, i love klavier. but i'm kinda tired of all the prosecutors having one outward gimmick their entire personas are based on. i liked edgeworth because he could have passed for a normal, angsty person.

Klavier's air guitaring wasn't that bad until the last case where it seemed like his response to everything was to air guitar. :sadshoe:

It got really annoying there.
He might as well have been just frozen in an air guitar pose that whole case.

They should change the air guitar thing (as well as make Klavier a better prosecutor) in the next game, by doing a little more with it.

Example:

:rock'n:
:odoroki: : Could you stop with that? Please?
:kyouya: *throws air guitar at Apollo, Godot style*
:odoroki: *Falls over in pain*
:odoroki: : (That... shouldn't have been physically possible.)

gimmick based prosecutors. don't get me wrong, i love klavier. but i'm kinda tired of all the prosecutors having one outward gimmick their entire personas are based on. i liked edgeworth because he could have passed for a normal, angsty person.

:edgeworth: none (normal, be very angsty)
:ka-whip: whip lady
:Godot-object: coffee man
:rock'n: air guitar boy

how about we take a trip back to normalcy?
