The animation for the anime adaption was amazing, but they sort of mashed up the plot through a sausage grinder to make it more confusing than it actually was in the manga.
Still great stuff though.
My favourite character would be Suzu, he and Tetsu are hilarious.

Suzu rocks.
I read the manga beforehand, starting with the first series, Shinsengumi Imon Peacemaker.
Problem was, tokyopop never released the first series and went straight into the peacemaker kurogane titles, so any new readers would have been so goddamn confuzzled. X3
Episode 15 = Win.

I can't count the times anymore where I compared the anime to Shinsengumi Imon, and went "WTF THIS DID NOT HAPPEN NOW."

Someone burned the series for me, subtitled. <3 So I can enjoy it in its original glory.
BUT OMG. That scene with Yamanami MADE ME LOVE HIM.
