I've given it some thought, and I'm definitely going to revise the idea.

Not scrap it. But revise it.

The phrase "can't play the game" is playing over and over again in my head and starting to bug me, but I think I have the solution.

... >:D

No, I'm not telling yet. I'll need to discuss it in detail with Bee.

EDIT: Ethed is banned from participating as a player in Round VI.

Personally, if I did get the role of ghost, the first thing I would do is send the GM a request to drop out of the round.

Bee might not be around a lot since his girlfriend is in town. He might pop in once in a while but he won't be around too much.

Ethed is a general assistant. They are privy to sensitive information about the game and as such cannot participate. Unlike Regy Rusty, they are so far not being asked to be involved with the actual game management. Chances are they'll keep the Dead Thread entertained. ;D

The rules have been updated several times with fixes to game-breaking flaws, among other things. I'm disappointed, really - the only person spamming me with questions is AdvanceStratagist. Only because of his relentless rule questions have I spotted all these flaws. That also means he knows more about the rules than almost anyone at this point, and that's no-one's fault but your own, guys. Even Regy's letting me down here. :(

C'mon guys, pick my rules apart, dammit! This game is broken and needs fixing! XD

(I will be posting an updated version of the rules at the same time I upload the Evidence Manual.)

The only reason I'm not picking them apart is because I never was good at finding problems in rules.
And there are allot of rules to go through to begin with. I'll try to see if I can find anything in the revisions, but don't expect much from me.

I'm actually making a list of things to do in the mafia game, but one of them I think is something I should post here.

14. DON'T ASSUME ANYTHING ABOUT THE RULES. If you think something could be interpreted another way, it probably has. It's like the rule 34 of mafia. Ask velo about rules, if anything seems like it could even remotely be interpreted another way.

That's what I've done for the last week or so with Velo. If it seemed like there was more then one way to interpret something, or could be acted on in different ways, I asked him. Occasionally it's led to finding some nasty flaws with the rules.

You don't have to be looking for the flaws to find them, just ask Velo about the rules, and they will get found.

Okay, I have a really really stupid question considering Special Evidence. I didn't get to play with evidence last round so I'm a little retarded when it comes to that, but am I correct in assuming that in Round V evidence "disappeared" once it was Used? Does this apply to Special Evidence as well, or does it remain in your inventory once it is Used?

Like I said, silly question, but... I'm not gonna lie, evidence confuses me quite a bit. D:

Just to be safe, I'll help!

If you just hold onto it, and use the ability that comes with it that way, you don't lose it. You only lose it if you use the one time ability that is listed with it.

FOR EXAMPLE!

If you just hold onto the glasses and do nothing with them, you're investigations are just naturally better while you have it.

BUT as soon as you use it to screw with someone elses investigations, it goes bye bye.

And basically the hidden powers of the special evidence are just the use powers for them. They just aren't revealed to the public.

Hopefully this post will make what AS said clearer:

Using evidence and utilising the Hold effect of evidence is not the same, awkward though it sounds.

Using evidence destroys it.

Utilising the Hold effect of evidence does not destroy it. The effect is usually less powerful because you can use it more than once.

You cannot utilise each piece of evidence in more than one way each phase, either; you can't exactly Submit evidence to Court and then keep Hold of it and utilise the Hold effect too. That just doesn't make logical sense! :P

Is it possible to submit evidence to be used in your own case?

I'm like LooityLoo, I never had to bother with evidence last round and I don't want to go into this round being completely behind on all things evidence-related...I might just use that Evidence Law book after all. :P

I especially like rule 7. The whole 'evidence going to random cases' part was one of the big complaints a lot of people had. Although I fear that because of this rule people will submit last minute evidence so they know for sure their evidence will count.

well you can still change who the evidence would go to until trial starts, so it shouldn't really change anything.

Unfortunately, because I'm a nub, the existing Evidence Law and Evidence Action rules are void.

A new version of these sections of the rules will be included in the rules update going up with the new Evidence Manuals. Don't worry, the rules haven't changed that much, and they should work much, much better now.

I'm just working out what to put in the third volume of the manual, which contains expert tactical advice. And by expert, I mean EXPERT. ;D

So, are we getting these Evidence Manuals as soon as the round starts or a little earlier so we have time to read and understand them?

I'd love some extra time, but I understand if it's sent at the start.
