How'd you guys come up with yours?

Also, I don't know whether anyone will agree with me or not, but I get fed up with seeing usernames that are basically just copies of characters names with a bunch of numbers on the end, like 'phoenix_wright678134594'. (Except maybe not that extreme, heh.)
I mean, some usernames like that are fine, but after seeing things like that repeatedly...

Where's the originality gone, folks?!

I made mine up about seven or eight years ago when I first discovered the internet... it's a delightful and thrilling combination of Pikachu, my favorite Pokemon, and Danielle, my (crappy) real name.

Though it lacks any humor value at all, it's easy to remember, hard to mispronounce, is original enough to not be already taken when I sign up to things, doesn't get me confused with other people, doesn't get shortened to anything annoying (I don't mind being called Danni or variations thereof), gets across that I like Pokemon, not too long/short, doesn't have any numbers, hyphens, underscores or random capitals in the middle... and I'm quite attached to it.

I'm actually considering changing my real name to it, truth be told. Since virtually everyone (online and off) calls me it anyway, it wouldn't make a lot of difference.

Lots of numbers/punctuation... doesn't annoy me, but it sounds stupid when you all someone Pokemon_fan4308474, but you don't want to shorten it in case they get annoyed.

Originality FTW.

Doctor Scraps is my online persona, sort of an alternate identity for me. I've held the name for a good three years when it originated as my author name when I ran a sprite comic called Pure Genius.
Let's be honest...if you have it, you don't need it. If you don't need it, you don't have it. If you have it, you need more of it. And if you have more of it, you don't need less of it.

Looky look at 00:12 Von Karma

Not that original, but I tend to like weird and positive usernames. ^_^ And it's quite evil, doncha think?

Also agreed on the numbery ends part, though I can actually understand if people use the same name as e-mail, because e-mail naming freedom is quite limited right now.

Well, a lot of people refer to me as Proto. However, seeing that isn't original enough, I simply added Attorney to make my current username. Godot

Eh... Mines not too creative >< I just chose the name of one of my favorite bosses out of one of my favorite games when I was completely obsessed with it back in the day. (In case anyone's wondering, I got my name from Golden Sun II: The Lost Age) I've had it for about 4 years and I'm just too lazy to change now. Well that, and I'm forgetful. The number one is the result of the first website I ever wanted to use my username, someone already had it, and now the one is like habit.

(Is it just me, or didn't we have a topic like this before? Oh well ^^)

Off topic: Glad to see you're back Doylie! Hope your exams went well ^^

Holy Hell is what I've gone by since I was eleven. Many people go through numerous name changes in their internet personas, but I lucked out. It's a unique username that I quite like.

Also, every now and then, I use the name Hely Holl for the hell of it.

I'm not sure where it comes from, but I thought it was cute~

Same here! I loved the first one too, but I thought that the second one was able to put out what the first one lacked! Wish they would have made a final boss fight against Alex. I would have so liked to have shut him up!

Since I hate my real name with a passion and hardly ever give out out on the internet, I always go by my favorite characters. Or at least the ones I seem to almost act like.

In deviant art, I'm Yuki Eiri... (from Gravitation)

Here, I'm Mori (from Ouran Host club). Also picked him becasue *points at avatar* that's originally from a fanart of the group cosplaying as PW characters. At the time, I thought it was an appropriate picture to use as an avatar to use for CR. I FAIL. I know. ._.

Meh, mine's not that special. It's just my nickname for my real name is Alyssa. It orginally started off as a name for my anime-alter ego. But my friends started calling me that in general,(and my nickname was I was little was Lyssie) so I was like "what the heck?" and used it as my official pen-name/username.

Other usernames/nicknames include Lysschan, SennyoMegami, Pasta Tom...Chacha (don't ask about that last one)

As for MoronSonOfBoron, it actually originated from an RP session in Starcraft, circa 1996-97. Moron was a Protoss Templar and Rhynadon farmer until a horde of Protoss Carriers swooped in and did what they do best. I officially made it my handle when I started playing Warcraft III.

The inspiration for MoronSonOfBoron should be obvious if you take a look at my signature's quote.

Real story- I really couldn't think of a username when joining the old CR, so I looked about near the computer and decided to take the name of whatever I saw first. Why there was a bottle of deodorant next to the computer I don't know, but I like it and that's what I've been on the internet since then.

Fake more interesting story- I joined on an impulse. COPYRIGHT BUTZPUFF 2006

Second of The Username Threads

@Impulse: Wow, I'm surprised to you remember that too! Larry

Ah, This takes me back to my very first post ever on CR! Grossburg (Sorry, I'm skipping the lemon thing this time)

ButzPuff is a play on my original Internet name, BaaPuff, which I made when I was 10 years old. The Baa from "BaaPuff" was because when I was kid, when I would go to work with my father and brother, we use to scare people by screaming sheep noises while driving past them. The Puff comes from my favorite Pokemon, JigglyPuff.

I decide to used Butz instead of Baa for CR as Larry is my favorite character and among my friends, I'm the Larry of the group. Now, I actually like the name ButzPuff over BaaPuff and started using ButzPuff on other sites like Youtube and E-bay.

And since I been a long time member, I have gotten several nicknames from many users. Here's a small list of them for fun:

BP
B-Puff
Puffy
Puffy Butz Larry
Puffy Pants (Copyright: Pheokirby, 2006)

Another uninteresting fact about mine:
It all began in art class, where, on the last day, we came in top hats.
We needed posh names to match our posh (pfft) looks, and my lovelies came up with 'Dame Doylie Mo'.

Copying and pasting from the original thread.

Well mine started as a DBZ fanfiction. I loved the android characters and wanted to create one. Android 21 was technically Cell and everyone was using Android 22, so I thought, "I want something as original as possible... for a fanfiction..." So I picked out a fraction that was random (because 1/2, 1/3, 3/4, etc were so predictable). The fanfiction died prematurely because the only reactions I got were "... Well that was weird", but I liked the name so much that I just took it for myself as a pseudonym and have been using it for years. The problem is that the "/" is rarely ever accepted as login names, so I was really surprised when Court Records accepted it! Edgy
