First things first, I think the majority of people here aren't in Europe, but whatever XD

Does anyone watch Eurovision? What do you like/hate about it? Will you be supporting your country, singing along with your singer?
Or do you think it's a pointless political contest? (that's aimed mostly at us Brits <_<; )

Me personally, I think it's fabulously terrible. I watch it every year. Ok ok, I only watch it for Terry Wogan & for a cheap laugh, but I love it. Terry almost guessing everytime which country will give 12 points to is roflsome.
I know the UK doesn't stand a snowflakes chance in Hell of getting even in the 1st half of the table, but I'll still support Andy (our singer ^^ ) all the way.

I was hoping someone would make this topic, and yes I do enjoy the terribleness of Eurovision, it's a shame that Irish Turkey's song didn't make it through though. Although this is said every year I think Britain have a slightly better chance of getting better than terrible marks, the song is more original so has a better chance I'd say. The comedy songs are great though "We are the winners of eurovision" sticks in my mind.

Yes, I watch eurovison, and yes, I think it's terrible.
It's fun to watch because most of the contestants are really, really bad.
It's sad to watch because it feels like everyone is giving up.

Now they compete about who has the worst song.

Hehe, "We are the winners of Eurovision"
"VOTE (vote) VOTE (vote) VOTE FOR THE WINNERS~" etc etc, I remember that song as well. I wonder why it didn't win... Lol.
I bought the CD for whatever year that song was in (2006?) XD That was the year we had that 35-something year old rapper O_o;

For me, the Ukraine's entry for last year sticks in my mind... A drag queen in a tin foil dress <3
I kinda hope that Finland has a metal song again, they really have great rock/metal tunes. (Lordi :D )

I've heard a couple of this years entries, I liked them! Can't wait for it ^^

For those of you not in Europe, lucky you. You are spared this travesty year on year! :D

If you're not familiar with Eurovision, click this link - and prepare yourself! :D

If you want to watch via the internet, the show has started and can be watched from here! :D

Spain has ended in a better position today than in the last three years :keiko:.
2008 Rodolfo Chikilicuatre Baila el Chiki-chiki 16th 55 points
2007 D'Nash I love you mi vida 20th 43 points
2006 Las Ketchup Bloody Mary 21st 18 points
2005 Son de sol Brujería 21st 28 points

Still, the song is pure crap.

Good/bad news for some people, Wogan was apparently so annoyed by the last few years he is considering stopping his commentary for next year, without him who knows if the bbc will continue with it, I personally would like Wogan to continue as I hope the bbc keeps eurovision. The only solution to "bloc" voting is to go back to having judges like they did in the past.

Lol, at least United Kingdom was LAST on the league table this time. IMO being second last is much more humilitating.

...also the Eurovision was incredibly boring this time except for Terry Wogan's obligatory lulzness. Needed more weirdos than eye-candy =|

So, El chiki-chiki was better than others song of Spain years ago... ¬¬ But it wasn't really good. xD

I loved the songs of Greece, Ukranie, Russia and Latvia.

Ha. Ha haha. What a wonderfully awful show it was again, eh? O_o;
That... song with the clothesline & brides (lol don't make me spell the country's name) was... weird to say the least.
I think I must be losing it as I strangely liked the Spanish one O_o o_O Although maybe I only enjoyed it because it made me lol SO much. XD

And I could've sworn that the German girls were "singing" in "notes" I've never heard in my life. Sorry any German people ^^;
