As you probably know, the map application for the Pokétch (number 13) works wonders in finding the runners. Paralyzing it, or using moves that cut HP but don't kill the opponent (False Swipe, Hyper Fang) work great, though the best possible help you can get is a good supply of Quick Balls. They make catching runners like Mesprit a lot easier.

I've watched the anime before I actually played the games but my first one was Pokemon Ruby. Pretty spiffy. Oh, and anyone getting the newest ones for the Nintendo DS-- Diamond and Pearl? If so, any team you're planning to train when you get it? :D

For games, I have; Blue, Gold, Crystal, Ruby, Puzzle Challenge, Hey You, Pikachu!, Pinball, Trading Card Game, Emerald, Leaf green, and Diamond. But somehow my Trading Card Game, Crystal, Gold, and Blue games went missing. T_T

I spent so long looking for Mespirit, and i forgot that i had seen it, then went to battle Uxie, killed Uxie, and turned off my game without saving first. o.o; So Mespirit was still in it's cave.
I thought something was wrong with my poketech map or something. >>;;;

it took a few tries, but i had my crobat use Mean Look, then Mespirit couldn't escape. i then weakened it, then it got away.
but, i went to the route outside Twinleaf, on the border between twinleaf and the route, and just kept moving between the two. all of the pokemon in the area were weak enough to simply skip away from, and mespirit was the only thing that posed a challenge. i got it in an ultra ball after about five tries and twenty ultra balls, as well as assorted others.

Anyway, did anyone give nicknames to there Pokemon? I named my Infernape Odoroki becose of his passionate heart burning red, I named my Empoleon Mumble after the penguin from Happy Feet and I named my Haunter Fog of War for no particular reason.

Catching Mesprit is a fairly simple matter. Find it, wittle down its HP a little at a time, and just get into the red, if possible with a status condition (most preferably paralysis or sleep). After that, just toss a few Quick Balls and you'll catch it in no time. It certainly not worth using a Masterball on, both stat and Pokémon-wise. Save it for something much more difficult.

Yeah, I got it down all the way the red and poisoned it, but any pokeball I throw at it doesn't even budge half the time and the other half of the time it budges once. x_x it's getting frustating

1:Use a pokemon that knows mist. I think mist cures all pokemon on the field their status.
2: Throw a dusk/quick ball everytime you meet it. Might take awhile.
3: Use a master Ball if your too lazy, but remember, if you do use it, you have spend more time and be more careful when you are trying to catch another legendary.

I'll give it a shot... just gotta see if I already got a golbat or something that has mist.
EDIT: I got pokemon that know mist, but mist does "The user cloaks its body with a white mist that prevents any of its stats from being cut for five turns." Had no idea...
I could just use a masterball, I already caught Giratina and Heatran... I'm getting ready to get Regigigas and see. I'm hoping I can catch it without a masterball.
