Hinaru jumped back from his answer"WHAT?!EDGEWORTH!?"he was breathing franticly, then he calmed down"Whoo..sorry about that...but really? Edgeworth? wow..."Hinaru chuckled"...I never expected something like that from him..."Then he heard what Phoenix said, about Edgeworth leaving"...you know, now that you mention it, i do remember hearing about him leaving...so..."he grinned"...he really did find the answer!...hmmm...but that really gets me to thinking..."he raised a brow then put his hand to his chin"...if he didn't come back...what would have happened to you Mr. Nick?"
Pearl shook her head"S-something...isn't...right..."the words came out slow, and it seemed she was in a lot of pain, and even so, she kept walking, but she was shaky, and very unstable, and coughing wasn't helping either"M-Mystic....Mystic...Maya...Help..."again slow and painful, and she couldn't walk anymore, her body fell to the side, and started falling towards Maya, now it looked like she was unconscious, leaning against Maya, burning up, and coughing in her sleep.
Zak had just closed up his restaurant and started to lock it up, all the workers had gone home, including the one that was fired. Zak yawned because of how late it was, and was ready to go home.
Kotama nodded"Your right, he would have caught something I missed...but then again, it saves me the trouble of looking."he said with a slight chuckle then he yawned again, and agreed to what Edgeworth said" That would be best..."he stood up and started for the door, then spoke to Edgeworth one last time before he left"Listen, Edgeworth...I'm...you know what, never mind...It isn't important..."and with that, he walked out the door, noticing the Bellboy...he was going to deliver the message through him, but thought against it.

"Pearly!? PEARLY!" Maya became frantic. She picked up Pearl and ran down the street as fast as she could. "Hang on, Pearly!" she panted. "It'll be okay!" Maya ran at top speed to the hospital. "Help!" she shouted. "My cousin... she collapsed! Help me!"

Zak was spinning the keys to his car - He has a Motorcycle, but he is using his car for now - and was walking to his car, when he noticed a person walking a little bit of a distance, and decided to call out to him"Hey! what are you doing out here alone at night? you know it can be pretty dangerous..."the man walked up to Zak and grinned slightly to him"I should say the same to you..."Zak chuckled slightly"...Well, at least I have a reason, i just locked up, and ready to go home." the man chuckled as well"And who says i don't have a reason? I just left a friends...so I'm heading home now..."Zak grinned"So, wheres your car, I'll walk you there."The man shook his head"Nowhere...i walk, and have been walking my whole life..."Zak was a bit surprised to hear the news"What!? Theres no way I'm going to let you walk home at a time like this! Come on, I'll drive you back to your house."Zak said grinning, now spinning the keys again. Then the man sighed"I guess I have no choice in this then...fine, I'll accept your offer..."he sighed again, then Zak grinned"Great! By the way, the names Zak Engarde, your going to need to know it, if we ever meet again."he said with a slight laugh, then the man sighed"Kotama...Kotama Shubin..."Zak smiled, and they got in the car. They drove for about a minute, before seeing someone running"Whoa...who's that?"Zak said in a surprised tone, then Kotama shrugged"I don't know...but she seems to be running quite fast this late..."Zak drove ahead, and got to her running speed"Whoa! I've seen her before! she was at my restaurant not to long ago!...but why is she carrying the other one?"Kotama looked at her and was slightly shocked as well"Wait...I've seen her to!"before Zak could think straight, he quickly swerved and was right in front of Maya, he ran out, and opened the door"What happened!? what happened to her!?"

Zak nodded"I see...Well, the nearest hospital is about two minutes away by car, so let me give you a lift!"And with that, he helped Maya in to the car, and drove off to the hospital, he hurried and parked in the Emergency Zone parking lot, and got out of the car, and opened Maya's door, helping her out, while Kotama opened the other door, picking up Pearl and getting her in to the hospital, then they (meaning Zak and Maya) frantically tried to explain what had happened to the doctors, until Kotama explained it calmly, and easier to understand. The Nurses and Doctors quickly got Pearl up in to the highest point of care, and told Maya, Zak, and Kotama to wait outside. Kotama sat there with his arms crossed, his eyes closed, and breathing calmly. While Zak was being a little more nervous, his right hand was on a table next to him, and was tapping on it with his fingers, while his left hand was messing with the hair over his face"Its been over twenty minutes...Something tells me this isn't any ordinary fever..."Kotama said with a calm tone. Then Zak sighed"Man, I really wonder what could have happened to her...I mean, it was only about two hours ago when they were at the restaurant..."The two waited patiently, hoping that she was going to be alright.

"NICK!" shouted Maya on the other line. "You've gotta get down here! It's Pearly! She... she just collapsed! She has a fever! Please, hurry!"
"What!?" Phoenix tried to make sense of what Maya was saying. "Wh-where are you?"
"At Hotti Clinic! Hurry, please!"
Maya hung up. Phoenix turned to Hinaru. "We've got trouble. I've got to go to the hospital. You coming along?"

((Now thats more like it! XD lol Alright Rooty, since its just basically the two of us, and your basically the second owner of this RP, you have my permission to make new characters without sending in a profile(Such as i did with Zak)just in case you have some other people in mind or something. Also, I'm making this up as i go along, and it seems to be working XD so if you decide to make a character, I'll think up a way to fit him/her in to it XD ))

"She'll be fine, Maya. It'll be okay," said Phoenix in an attempt to comfort her. He was only so calm because Maya was doing the worrying for him, and right now, he needed to be strong. He looked over her shoulder, seeing Kotama... and him. Phoenix was too shocked to speak. What was HE doing here!? He shouldn't have been out of prison! Phoenix's earlier feelings of concern were transformed into rage and confusion. "Y-You...!"

Just before Zak could answer, a doctor came in started to call some people"Could um..."he looked at his notepad"...A Miss Maya Fey and a Mr. Kotama Shubin please came back here. You can see the patient now..."he then looked to Zak"You'll be able to see her once these two are done, including you Mr. Wright..."Kotama stood up, and started walking for the door, holding it open for Maya. Zak was now alone with the angry Wright, making him very nervous, but now he responded to what Phoenix was saying. First he sighed, and adjusted his stance a bit though"Well...If i was in prison...Then...How could i be here? And if i was dead...How could I be anywhere? Come on, your smarter then that aren't you...?" This...is Zak's way of freaking out...well, one way or the other, he begins to act a lot different then he usually does when he's nervous, and starts making it difficult for other people, such as he's doing now with Phoenix. He's trying to avoid hard questions with easy and not straightforward answers."Alright, you've been asking enough questions, now let me ask you one...Who are you Mr. Lawyer? And don't play any games, I want the truth...because if you are who i think you are..."he stopped mid-sentence and just sighed
Kotama was walking with Maya to where Pearl was. She was laying there, with no motion and almost no sign of life, but you could tell that she was living just fine...for the time being. There was some silence when he stood there watching over her, until he finally decided to speak"So...your this little one's cousin?...mind explaining to me a little about yourselves to me...just so i can get to know you two just a little better?"If Pearl was to die, he'd like to know a lot about her, and as for Maya, he wanted to just know some things about her as well, the two seemed interesting, so he figured, might as well speak up instead of having silence and just the sound of crying
((Hmm...i feel bad for Pearl :( ...Yeah thats all I have to add here at the end XD ))

Maya nodded. She needed to talk about something. "Yeah, she's my cousin. We're from Kurain Village, where we learn the ways of the Kurain Channeling Technique." Maya took a shaky breath. Talking seemed to help calm her down.
((Okay, my bad. Three near breakdowns. And yeah, I feel bad for Pearl too. I have no idea who or what did this to her... I wonder if it has to do with the case at hand...?))

Zak froze stiff when he heard his name, then five psych-locks appeared in front of him"I'm sorry Mr. Lawer...i was told if i was ever face to face with 'Phoenix Wright' I am not permitted to explain anything..."He paused and sighed"...That is my straightforward answer..."he stood there, looking Phoenix dead in the eyes, then spoke calm and collected"But... I am not the person you are thinking of...Because I think your mistaken with this..."After he finished his sentence, he flipped his hair back, also revealing three scares like his brother, he had the same look in his eyes, and everything(right down to the magic wine XD lol)"This is not who I am, but who i was...and hopefully..."he put his hair back down"...This will answer your question better then just giving you my name..."The five Psyche - Locks were still around him, mainly because he didn't give him a name, because someone didn't want him to tell...
Kotama grinned at what he heard"The Kurain Village...Its a rare sight to behold, when channeling, or even being in the presence of one..."he walked closer to Pearl, guiding Maya with him, he knelt down beside Pearl, and continued to speak"Burt here I am, with two members..."he chuckled slightly"...I hold high respect for your village...and the people in it..."he then looked at Maya"...but do not tell anyone of that...keep it to yourself..."Kotama isn't really holding his 'high and mighty' image right now, only to certain people will he show it, and Maya is one of the lucky ones"And your mother...I'm assuming it was...Misty Fey..."he sighed then continued" I read the reports about her..."That was all he had to say for that"...But that definitely means that you are going to be the Master, am i correct?"

Maya nodded. "Yes, I'm the Master. But I don't deserve to be... It should be Pearl." Maya remembered her aunt Morgan's plans to remove Maya from the picture, all so Pearl could be the Master someday. "I... don't want to have anything to do with the Fey family anymore..." she remembered saying once. Her only family, Pearl and Mia, had suffered greatly because of the Fey heritage.

A 'Psych-Lock'? whats that?"He said with a calm tone, just standing there now, but then he heard Phoenix mumble something"Alright, I know I'm not hard at hearing, and you should to, so if your going to say something, then say it loud enough to where I can understand...Because if you want to get anywhere when talking, you've got to be sure they can hear you, right?" Zak was speaking fluently now, but behind it all was a nervous, and scared individual, trying to defend his name, and Phoenix and possibly one or two other people would be the only people to recognize it.
Kotama stood up slowly, and put his hands on her shoulders"If you didn't deserve to be the Master...Then you wouldn't be one right now, would you?" he put his hands down, and they hung on his sides"And as for Pearl...sure she might have the skills for it, but you have the wisdom...you may not show it though..."he turned his back on her, and faced Pearl"...But wisdom is the true making of a great Master and Leader...Thats what I've been taught my entire life, and i live by it, as should you..."he then sighed"...And if you decide to leave...then the Fey Family will lose someone of great importance...So I'd think it over before making a decision as big as that Maya Fey..."
((Awww! Kotama is such a softy XD lol usually he's not like this though....so its a bit weird making him act like that XD lol ))

Maya looked at Kotama. "Thanks." She was definitely feeling better for getting that off her chest. She looked at Pearl again. "What could've happened? Was it the food? I just... wish I could help, you know?"
((Man, posting as these guys, in character, is really hard! And as for my OC, I still don't know if I should bring her into this or not; she's a prosecutor, and we have enough of those.))

When Phoenix pulled out his Magatama, the locks and chains came back all around him, then Zak sighed slightly, then tilted his head to the side"Well then Mr. Lawyer...Lets see if your as good as what I've heard...lets see how good you really are..."He chuckled slight then flipped his hair back, revealing the three scares again, then he grinned and continued"...Lets see if you can drag my identity out!"
Kotama nodded to her"No...No problem..."He looked down at Pearl, and examined her thoroughly, then when Maya spoke, he responded quickly"Poison..."he sighed contently"It was the food..."he then looked towards Maya"Maya Fey, who was serving you food earlier? If it is who I think it is...then we might have a suspect..."Kotama said with a calm tone

"It was... that man. The one in the waiting room with Nick. He said his name was..." Maya paused, trying to remember. "He never told us his name. But it couldn't have been the food. I ate more than Pearly did, and I feel fine!" Okay, she thought, I actually feel downright lousy, but health-wise, I'm fine!
((I doubt Nick has ever used this tactic on a Psyche-Lock, I hope it works! He'll use evidence when he has to, don't worry.))

Zak just sighed and shook his head"More of your games huh, Mr.Lawyer? I've told you before...I don't want to play...theres no need..."He sighed once again, then spoke"...But if its what you want, then I might as well play along...I'll tell you the whole truth..."He looked up, and straight in to Phoenix's eyes, and continued to speak, answering his question"Well If you must know, I was taking your pretty friend here to the hospital, so that she could get here faster for her cousin's sake...because she was trying to get here on foot..."He then chuckled slightly"...We were lucky and got here in time, otherwise I'm not sure what would have happened to her cousin..."Although that did give Phoenix some information, it still didn't give him who he really is"As for a question from me..."he began to think, then he finally got one"Ah! got one, OK, Mr. Lawyer, heres one fore you. How could you tell I was keeping a secret? Because that really caught me off guard..."Zak said with a slight chuckle.
Kotama shook his head"Then that means that whoever did it...was aiming directly for Pearl there!"He made a Valid point about that, it was the only explanation anyway"As for the server...that means he's the only suspect here...which means..."his eyes got a serious look in them as he looked down to Maya"...He must be arrested, for being the suspect of...possibly murder...otherwise, its just poisoning..."he continued to look down on Maya, and his tension lifted slightly, then continued speaking"He must have cooked the food as well...Now Maya...Listen...do you think that he might have done it? I want to see what you have to say...I want to see your judgment!"

Maya thought about it. "I... don't know what to say," she said. "I just don't see any reason for him to have done that... And to Pearly, who doesn't even have any enemies that I know of. Where's the motive? Then again, I don't know anything about him, and he seems to know us somehow... Maybe there's something we missed." On an impulse, she suddenly said, "I want to talk to him! I want to hear what he has to say!"

Then when he asked the question, Zak looked uneasy"What makes you so curious?...just the fact that your looking at them right now makes you curious huh?...well, a game is a game, and a deal is a deal..."he turned his head to the side, looking down slightly, and continued speaking"It was...an accident...We...we were in an accident...I...can't really remember it from the surgery...i doubt anyone would from that..."he then looked back up to Phoenix"These scares started from an accident, and was made worse from the surgery...A moment that i can never recall, and never wish to..."He sighed, then a lock finally broke off of him"Your getting closer...Now, as for my question..."he looked Phoenix in the eyes and continued"...When you are in court, and your with your client...I've heard you truly believe in them...but what happens if there really guilty in the first place? and all that 'trust' and 'believing' in your client went so far that you became close, but knew that he was guilty...what would your reaction be? what would you do then, Mr. Phoenix Wright?"You could tell he was getting more serious and nervous, leaking little bits and pieces of information that are hard to notice, so lets hope that Phoenix can spot them!
Kotama nodded"If that is your wish, then we will talk to him...but as my duty as a prosecutor, i must arrest him...so hopefully your talk could convince me otherwise..."he then helped Maya up"...Now lets go talk to him...and maybe we can find some truth...otherwise, I'll be really busy tomorrow..."He said with a calm tone.
Hinaru finally came back, with a bunch of food and stuff, until he noticed Zak and Phoenix talking...he raised a brow, then all of a sudden, he saw a faint image around Zak...it looked like chains and some locks, and this has happened to him before, and he knew what it meant, so he stayed out of it...and stayed distant, so as to not get in the way.

Phoenix found it difficult to answer the question, even though he had been forced to answer it years ago during the Matt Engarde case. "I... would try to get them a guilty verdict. I couldn't let a killer go free," he said slowly. Though that wasn't what he did, but that was different. Maya would have died had he tried to convict Matt; it was only by a miracle she ever returned. He suddenly remembered something the man had just said. "Just now, you said 'We were in an accident.' What happened to cause this accident? And who was involved besides you?"
Maya nodded. "I just wanted to know for sure." She looked back at Pearl one more time, hopefully not for the last time, then left with Kotama to talk to Zak.
((OOH, Hinaru can see Psyche-Locks! This just got interesting!))

Kotama also looked back to Pearl, then he continued forward, and opened the door for Maya, only just seeing Zak and Phoenix having a showdown basically, and he put his arm in on Maya's chest(He's behind her, and he's putting his arm in front to stop her from walking forward, no pervertness XD)to prevent her from walking forward"Do not go any further...this is there battle for now...and you will talk to him, when they are finished...
Hinaru now saw Kotama and Maya come in, the tension was big, and he wanted to jump in, but he didn't, he just continued to watch carefully, ready to see what happens next...

Zak sighed"I didn't ask specifically for her exactly...because I know she wouldn't do it either...I was just saying someone close to you...just like her..."He then looked back up to Phoenix, now with his hair down, so only one eye was visible, and he grinned slightly at his what he said"You are as good as they saw Mr. Lawyer...Your name does you justice..."just then, the four locks broke, one by one, they went away, until he finally spoke"...And as your reward, you deserve a name..."He sighed, then continued"...My name is...Zak...Zak Engarde...I'm...Matt's older brother...only by a few minutes though..."He then turned from Phoenix, having his back face him"Any other questions you need answered?"
Hinaru watched as the locks shattered, this even surprised him, he's never actually seen that happen, but he continued to watch...to find out that this guy was Matt's brother was just amazing to him because he read the reports, about that case, and read how hard it was for Phoenix, and now to find out he has a brother...who knows what might happen next!
As for Kotama...he stood there as he watched Zak get defeated in that battle of wits and questions, and it was slightly entertaining...and all he had to do was wait a little longer before Phoenix was finished up, so Maya could talk to him...
((Finally done! XD but let me warn you right here Rooty, If Phoenix asks a certain question, its psych locks all over again XD but its a good question to find out, thats for sure...very good answer to XD ))

Phoenix shook his head. "So, you're... no way..." He shook his head. This was both confusing and relieving, and at least he knew who this man really was. "I just need to know... Why did you need so badly to keep your name a secret? Wouldn't it have been better to just tell me? You obviously knew who I thought you were."
Maya watched as Phoenix put his Magatama away in his pocket, with a hint of triumph in his face. "He just... broke a Pshyche-Lock, didn't he?"

A Psyche - Lock suddenly appeared in front of Zak, but he shook his head"No...I've put you through enough trouble...you deserve to know..."and, this was probably the first time its ever happened to Phoenix, but somebody just broke there own lock"...The reason why...is because...I do love my brother, but I can't just go around telling my name to certain people...it'll make people think differently about me y'know? having a brother in jail, and just the way he did it....and people don't show as much mercy anymore...so thats why...and it was even harder telling you because...your the one who put him in jail..."he clenched his fists, and quickly turned back around to face Phoenix"So I tried to run away from my name...and start a new life...instead of acting, i started a restaurant...me and my brother had the same likings...so I figured, 'why not start a restaurant? Nobody will suspect that'...in this case though...I was wrong...I had a better reason for starting that restaurant..."He took a few steps closer to Phoenix, standing at least two feet away"...Phoenix Wright...you are a true holder of justice, and I respect that...so answer me this question...because i know you must hold a great judge of character...Am I anything like my brother? Be truthful..."he was pretty serious about the question, and he's never asked anyone this before, and Phoenix could probably tell because of Zak's seriousness
((The hint is somewhere in there, and if you can spot it, then you are just like Phoenix Wright XD ))
Kotama looked over to Maya with a raised brow"A what? Psych...Lock?...if you don't mind telling me...what is that? just for further notice..."you could tell he was curious, and wanted to stall some time so Phoenix could finish asking questions.

Maya looked at Kotama, realizing she had just said that out loud. "It's... a lock over your heart. It protects your secrets. And people who can see them, can break them to expose that secret." She wondered if she had explained that well, or if she should have even said anything.
((I had a hunch... It was either that or another detail I noticed, but this one was less obvious, so we'll just have to see.))

"Uh..." Phoenix was REALLY uncomfortable talking about that... especially with Maya right there in earshot. "It's... complicated," he said lamely. "I care very much about her..." Wow, this is awkward! he thought. His face started to turn red. "Er, anyway, you said earlier that you had a different reason for starting that restaurant. Something besides trying to lead a normal life." He didn't need to continue; doubtless Zak knew what the question was.
"It's not really that simple," said Maya. "You have to have a Magatama, which holds the spiritual power to see the locks... and right now, Nick has mine. So no, I can't see the locks by myself." She then heard Phoenix talking very quietly. What are they talking about that they need to whisper?

Thanks for answering that question."Zak said, grinning, then when Phoenix asked that question, Zak fell silent once again...and once again, Psych - Locks appeared around him...but this time, there was six!"Its not technically me trying to avoid living a normal life...and that restaurant...well, lets say I have other reasons for having it instead of the peoples pleasure..."You could tell he was more serious then ever, even more then before, and he didn't flip his hair back...which means he'd rather be himself for the time being while talking to Phoenix.
Kotama nodded"Thats...interesting...Very interesting..."he grinned, then went to look back to see Zak, and Phoenix talking about something serious....AGAIN!He looked at Maya, then smirked slightly"I take it that he's doing it again, right? More of those...Psych - Locks if I'm not mistaken...right?"

She nodded. "From the look on Nick's face, it's a tough one too. I really can't see them without my Magatama, but having tapped into your spiritual power, you can 'sense' them pretty strongly." Maya had trained for years; she could really only "sense" the locks if she concentrated her hardest, and she would need to know when to do that. Something as strong as these locks, though, were pretty well sensed.
((Wow, just think how tough the trial's going to be! lol))

Is there some reason your showing me that? And that theres more to that restaurant then meets the eye? Kotama grinned slightly"Well...I guess that makes you pretty strong to be able to sense them huh? but then again...a lot of people can tell when there lying..."He sighed now"...Is the Magatama, basically a way to 'See' peoples lies, instead of 'Sensing' them like most people do? you know...when they get that 'gut' feeling, thats when there sensing..."Kotama was just trying to be sure he understood it, and if this was it, then he'd got it, but again, he's stalling time for Phoenix, not that he cares, but if Phoenix ever brings it up, Kotama could basically use it as his own information as well.

"Yeah, something like that, but amplified." Maya wondered again if she should really be telling information to the prosecutor, but then again, it was just about Psyche-locks. It wasn't like she was giving him decisive evidence... right?
