You don't have to cosplay at all, don't worry. If that place isn't good though, maybe we could all meet somewhere in the middle of where we all live? If someone gets a map and jots down where we all are then we could find the best meeting point right?

Yes, that's partially right, but we don't want to end up somewhere crummy because it's approximately in the center. Plus, I predicted myself that Birmingham is quite likely, as many of us are up north and many south. It'd be a bonus for those in the midlands.

I'm all the way in China (Shanghai) and I think CFTF is the only other member in China (but in Nanjing- 2-hour train journey). Oh well- I'm only 16 (and sometimes have trouble acting my age but that's my own problem) and in 11th grade.

Solution: Ask Anders, Croik and Wooster to organize a huge meeting of doom in London in the "CR Bulding!" (Omg) and then set time and date to meet.

Done.... And I won't turn up.

Hey, a cool topic! *bump*

I live somewhere around North Jersey, especially close to New York City. It would be so cool to have the chance to meet all of you guys out there, but I don't think we all live around my area.

Not to mention I don't even have my own driver's license yet, and I'm still in high school. Hopefully things'll be different once I'm in college.

SCOTLAND!!! *shakes spear*

I'm sure me and Hylian could meet if we really tried, probably Lucy too I'm quite accustomed to travelling south on trains. I've actually managed a successful meet-up with 2 CRians before for the Scotland Loves Anime Glasgow screening of Ace Attorney. Shame neither of them are active now but they were cool people.

It'd be pretty cool to meet you, but I'd have to travel all the way to the other side of the country. :payne:

I'd also love to meet Emiko Gale, but Kentucky's not that close to New Jersey either.

Conventions strike me as the way to go. They're a good excuse to travel a long distance, and on the off chance that your online friends turn out to not be that fun in real life, you've still got plenty of other stuff to do. There's also the fact that they're likely to have a lot of people, making them very safe.

Hmmm, never been to a convention before. The only one I know of that I could possibly attend is the New York Comic Con, since it's right around my area of NJ.

Still, it sounds like a very interesting idea. I'll have to wait on it until I get my license and my parents are able to afford a car for me.

Neither have I, Gnobo. I'm hoping to have an opportunity to attend one of the Penny Arcade Expos, in large part because many of my favorite Let's Players have been known to attend them, but also because they're gaming conventions. All that depends on what my work schedule will be like, though. Unemployed people such as myself are almost always in a position to travel. I can't guarantee that that would be the case when one of the conventions rolls around, though, and I certainly don't want to bank on my being unemployed, of all things.

And I hope however I set up my schedule in college will help me to have enough free time to actually go anywhere. But I have heard college is a lot more relaxed compared to high school, where the teachers give you a schedule to go by and you have to follow it. In college, I think you can make your own schedule, right?

The college me and my parents are looking into is actually in Pennsylvania. Do you know of any cons that might be there?

I know of MAGFest in neighboring Maryland, but other than that, I have no idea.

And college can give you a flexible schedule, but the key word here is "can." It depends on what classes you take, how much they assign, and how often you're expected to attend.

One day General, one day you'll join the ranks of great let's players.

Conventions are nice but I find there's never any worth going to nearby. Plus I'd feel compelled to cosplay and I really dislike the thought of dying my hair washout or not.

I went to Connecticon once when some friends from Australia were visiting. As my only experience visiting a convention, I found the cosplayers to be much more interesting then anything at the convention itself.

Last time I checked it was around £70 for a one-way ticket, I'm not sure what it is for a return. It was the cost of the train tickets that stopped me from going to London. When you have to buy tickets for more than one person, the price becomes absurd.

Ouch that's insane! Bloody london, I could go a whole trip to my girlfriend on £140 the cost of a return like that.

You'd have to travel a bit, but there's Anime Boston, PAX East, Katsu-con, and Otacon. And that's just off the top of my head--I'm sure there's others if you look. You'd probably need to be in the car for a few hours, but... honestly, it isn't that bad. Just think of it as a road trip xP

Anyway, I've met 2 AAOers IRL.
One was them living in a place where I just happened to take a regular vacation to anyway. So if you go on a vacation to wherever and you know a CRer you like lives near there, you can also make that a day in the trip.
The other... was a completely unplanned coincidence. And I just figured out who he was from our conversation. And I never told him that I realized it... and I was a CRer too... hee hee hee... :uramidn:
