Recently in both my English and Philosophy lessons I found out that the term "I AM" commonly refers to the Christian/ Jewish God, as it is what he is called in the story of Moses. Although the PW games come from a spiritualist/Buddhist point of view and explains it is meaning Ami, it may be a coincidence, but then again it might not be, your thoughts.

I had trouble with this game because of that. I thought Wright just didn't know about "I AM" referring to God.

Never knew that...

But I bet they did it for fun. Though "I AM", besides AMI could also me MIA or AIM...

At the time, I found it interesting, almost prophetic, that both crimes of 3-2 occurred at 1 am, and the urn read I AM.

I doubt they even realized that it can refer to God, because the game never brings it up.

Keep in mind that PW is a translation, they translated it to I AM, and I AM (as in God) is also a translation. I AM is a translation (though not a perfect translation) for YHWH (which is Hebrew), which God gives when Moses asks for his name.
Jesus is Lord.

Death Note is awesome.

it really depends where the translation team are from to be honest, if they're American I can't really see it being done by mistake, however if they're Japanese it is most likely a coincidence or done on purpose but with no real meaning.

Do you have any idea how little some Americans know about the Old Testament? Most churches never use the phrase I AM. Many Americans probably wouldn't think of I AM as a name for God.
Anyway, they probably didn't know, or else Phoenix's inner monologue would have mentioned that it couldn't be it.

Many probably also don't know much about the New Testament either.

It's just for the easy way out, you know? They could, say, named the ancestor 'Miyako', 'Josephine', or 'Miyabi', but it's harder to search an anagram without proper meaning (If, the Fey ancestor was named Anni-Gurco and the urn reads 'Unorganic', Feenie won't take a second look on that urn)

Ami, like Mia and Maya, is a vaguely mystical sounding name that fits the general feel of the other Feys, and "I am" is sounds like a very spiritual declaration, though I admit I had never known it was also used as a name of God.

Long story short: Ami is an awesome name, and "I am" is a cool anagram.
