Well, it actually depends on how you look at it. As far as I see it, it's actually a very small and I mean, very small benefit to deal with him. Sure, you give him 3,000 bells but afterwards, he gives you 100 bells each day you stung by bees. Plus, another 100 if you trip too *cough* King Tut Mask *cough*. Eventually, he pays you back all 3,000 bells and more on top of it. 2 days of Lyle payment's is free cup of coffee. Plus, the ability to change Redd's visiting days always helps.

1) If you do every manage to shoot down the UFO (which isn't easy
), it will crash into town and you will meet a familiar face if you played the Gamecube verison. Anyway, you'll have to find 5 UFO pieces and return them to it. Then you will reward with a rare item (like a Metroid from The Metroid series!). 
2) Yes, I have the Young phoenix outfit too which I use time from time in addition to my other dozen outfits.
3) To make a money grow, all you need is TCL. In translation, just work hard on caring for the saping by watering it everyday (rainy days are free waterings) and hopefully after 3 days, it'll grow. There's no 100% way to get them to grow. Also, If I remember correctly there is a guide on Gamefaqs about growing trees which might want to check out.

@Mayaluff: There is really no one way to do it, so any ideas you read here should work as well. I captured 2 scorpions but running from them to have them chase me, then opening the menu and grab the net, close it and start swinging in the directions it's chasing you. That's what worked for me.
Anyone want to play now, I believe I have the chance now for a little while.
