So Kemi and I are gonna ROCK your FACES off. But not yet. :O Soooon. Or someday. Or...Yes. You'll see! *evil laughter*

Hope everything's going swell!

Are we naming songs that still need tunes? Because if so, "Back in the Day" and " Wendy Oldbag's Testimony" both need them. ^^'''' I've been trying to come up with tunes for those for weeks. @___@'

Argh argh argh, sorry my time has still been so limited. I have 2 more final this week and a show on wednesday. I just had a show tonight. I also have two auditions on monday and callbacks throughout the week, plus a recital on Thursday. So I'm still a tad overbooked, hahaha. Plus 7-10 rehearsals every night for another show. Actorman I'm sure is having the same issues.

I'm trying to make time, but failing a lot. These are the problems inherent I guess in having cast members here who also do significant amounts of musical theatre in real life. So hopefully things'll clear up soon!!

Arri, just to let you know--I finally started on accompaniment for "What Have I Done?" I'm only about halfway through figuring out what chords I will use at the moment, so it could be a while. (A week maybe?) Question: would you find it objectionable (haha) if I played around with just a few words of your lyrics and altered the melody just slightly on a couple lines? It seems I have a tendency to want to do that with people's songs when I attempt accompaniments for them. ^_^;;

Pooleterson, it sounds like you're in an insanely busy time! Thanks for posting when you can. Eesh!

No, not at all! Do whatever you think is necessary. I figured that it would probably need to be altered when the accompaniment was written.

Lady V, at one point I had an experimental melody for Wendy Oldbag's Testimony...but I prefer to pretend like it never existed >>

Semi-script update! (Kinda :O)

I sent a PM off to Gerkuman, as I think I said? Anyway, he hasn't left us, he's just got exams now and stuff and asks we be patient and script things will be underway soon enough. ^^ He said he'd post in the thread, but I figured I'd give you guys the update you've been craving. He'll probably tell you more himself soon! :D

...........Guys.

I know we're not done with this musical, let alone the second one. And we've no idea if we're going to make more. But this idea would not leave me alone, and in the name of the Judge I HAD to write it down.

...Ready?

*SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILEEEEERS FOR 3-5!!!!!!!!*

It's Dahlia's twisted version of Justice for All. It doesn't really have the same words or anything, but it's set to the same tune ^^ :chinami:

Here it is.

:takethat:

Spoiler: Lyrics, and SUPER SPOILERS
DAHLIA:

I undid the lock and tried to walk outside
But the police team had recently arrived
With that, to my chagrin, I locked myself back in
And I couldn’t tell if Maya was dead

With no way out, I hid inside
That’s when Iris came, to see if Maya was okay
As soon as that wretch freed me, I took her place as you can see
And then locked her safely away
I soon learned that Misty channeled me
And then I realized, much to my delight
It seems you’ve gone astray in your pursuit of Maya Fey
She cut her own life short last night!

Now in Eagle River’s flowing, swift waters
Rests Misty Fey’s last, late daughter
Wracked with guilt for matricide, and with nowhere left to hide,
Maya Fey has committed suicide!

With no one in the main family to claim the Master’s seat
You’ve suffered the ultimate defeat
Pearl Fey will rise as my mother did command
And the murder went exactly as planned

You’ve no hope left, you have no future
Just despair and lament Maya’s demise
Too bad you couldn’t infer what predictably occurred
And on the riverbed her body now lies!
The plan has worked, and Maya’s dead
Accept the fact that her soul has taken flight
While I feel such elation, you’ll die of desperation
You know I’ve won…Phoenix Wright.

lalalei, that's awesome! I'd totally try to record it if it weren't really late at night ><

Phoenix_Apollo, it's true, with correct German pronunciation it would be "fon". However, I think it's fairly widely accepted as "von", but that could just be among people I know. I suppose that's something we'll have to discuss. I personally prefer to keep it as "von", because chances are the characters in the game wouldn't know proper German pronunciation, so they'd probably say "von". But that's just me. I suppose Manfred himself would pronounce it properly, if he ever actually said his own name...which, now that I think about it, I'm not sure he does. Does he? 0.o

But, those people who listen to it being said like that will probably repeated while they're in public, and eventually be heard by the German speaking crowd. You don't want a bunch of angry people, now do ya?

I think Von being said the way it we have said it the whole time is just fine. Most people seem to say it the way we have.
If anything, just having Karma himself use the Fon would be the most we would be able to to.
I think having everyone use Fon would confuse more people worldwide than using just Von would make upset even in the slightest.

And to address your concern, Phoenix_Apollo, I don't really think it makes a difference. The head of this project is German and she has yet to correct us to the best of my knowledge. :O I wouldn't worry too much about it.

No, as in, Ethed's German. o.o At least I'm pretty sure she is. I wasn't referring to Gerkuman at all. xD

Yeah, I knew she was talking about Ethed instead of me. Thanks to Diana R for passing on the message. I'd like to point out though that I'm not rushing this for anyone. Writing is a pretty hard and time-consuming task and it gets more than a bit annoying to have everyone howling after my blood. XD

Don't worry Gerkuman--I don't think any of us want you to rush. "That'd just be weeeird." :maya: After all, we're going into the eighth month of working on the songs, and we're nowhere near done with the music. I think we're all just eager to get the script ...STARTED. With so many people coming and going from this project, it just seems too possible for us to lose momentum and have it never get done.

I personally don't care for incorrect pronunciation, no matter what the language, but I don't think that it's too much of a problem in this case. Sure, some people may not be very happy with our pronunciation, but they can't do more than complain (which I doubt that too many, if any, will).

Alright, I finished one of the songs. Surprisingly, I ended up liking the Meekins one the best--I'll have to revise the Jake Marshall one("Dancing to Gunfire")later.

Anyway, here's my shot, although I'm not sure if I like it... :payne: Even though I can imagine a tune and accompaniment and everything...XDD

Spoiler: "The Full Report--I Think."
MEEKINS
I’m pretty sure I was in that room
With Mr. Goodman, sir!
I met him and we talked
But the rest is just a blur…
Maybe we got in a fight
My hand did end up damaged
Still, in order to fix all this
We'll need more than bandage...

I know my experience is limited
I haven’t yet aged twenty-three,
I hope I can be accurate, though,
At least, to a tolerable degree...

I was following orders as usual,
Just doing my job, sir!
The place was really quite a mess
Because of the evidence transfer
I was ordered something different then
I knew I’d get a break after
My last assignment for the day
Was to move the Blue Badger!

When I eventually went back for it
There was an unfamiliar man
I couldn’t help but feel suspicious
So into the room I ran!
He looked like a detective
And I asked for his ID Card
The rest I can’t remember, however,
I think I was hit, quite hard!

When I woke up, I saw the police
And I don’t mean my squad, sir!
Apparently I was a suspect
For Mr. Goodman’s murder!

I imagine the main instrument to be a piano, with plenty of "misc" ones like cowbells and spoons. XD

Edit: Something about the tune in a few places doesn't seem quite right. Edited.

I like that Meekins song ~n :phoenix: Seriously, how do you guys come up with all these lyrics and melodies?!
Speaking of melodies, I was trying to come up with something for Perfection Incarnate but every time I tried to think of a tune for Von Karma it just sounded like Anything To Win....now that I look at it, a few of the lyrics are pretty similar. Should they sound anything alike?

I'm not sure. When I wrote it, Anything to Win wasn't really around, and later on FF3girl modified some of Perfection Incarnate's lyrics to stick in her song as a bridge. Then I recently rewrote it on Page 100 or so :)

Okay :) It's just that every time I even look at the words I just fit them in with ATW. I have a lot of admiration for you songwriters and composers, now that I realise just how miserably I would fail.

Er, not that I didn't have admiration for you guys anyway! I am not wording my posts very well. :s

The melody seems pretty catchy in this song.

However, I thought it was supposed to be Evidence Transferal, but that's just me being picky again.

Aaaactually, if you wanna be a stickler about it.. I just checked to find out who posted it first, and Pennfalath posted the original Anything to Win literally two posts before you posted Perfection Incarnate on page 27 of the forums, and then I posted my first version of an accompaniment for his song on page 28. :study: Later on, I modified it to try to include some of all of our work in a VK song.

Just noting my existence. Again. Oh, and I just found this on youtube, and I'm throwing it around to everyone.
This has nothing to do with the musical...
Just German class.

But seriously, I'm still wondering, is anyone doing the storyboards for Awakening?
Can you handle us? So cool, baby, scandalous.

I'd just like to note that we totally watched that in my German class a couple of weeks ago and IT'S SUCH AN AWESOME VIDEO. Does every American German class use the Komm Mit! books?! 0.o

Well, unless someone's doing them in seeeeecret, I don't think anyone's taken on the Awakening storyboards yet.

Speaking of storyboards, I made a bunch of progress on Make It Right today. I'm stuck again, though, for two reasons...trying to work out angles and stuff for the Phoenix/Maya duet portion, and I'm out of notecards >>

That's a funny coincidence! :gant: I think they all do use the same books...

Well, if noone is doing them, I'd like to give it a shot! As soon as I finish TbF... I'm pretty close to finishing... I just have to stop procrastinating...

Just to give everyone something to look forward to.. (? maybe ?) I'm working finally on an accompaniment for Arri's song What Have I Done? Is there anyone working on an accompaniment for Tomorrow's Trial? I LOVE that song, but man is it complicated.

Meems, I attempted it for about 5 minutes and then gave up. Just goes to show how much of a dedicated worker I am. :P
Just wondering, is there any way to download the songs you guys upload to Putfile onto my computer, or do I just have to go on the internet every time I want to listen to them? :)

When you're on the Putfile page of the song you want to download, you can right-click on the page background and choose "View Source." You'll get the page's source code in a little display, and then if you search the code for the phrase ".mp3" (or in a few cases ".wav") you can find the direct link to the file on Putfile's server. Then finally, copy that link into the address bar, and once the file page loads, go to File -> Save Page As, and you can download the song.
