By this, I mean Apollo should get amnesia, but it should be linked heavily with the final case. I think that Apollo should learn of some very dangerous information about someone introduced in the game, and he's about to do good and expose them in court, however before he made it to the Court house, he was severely attacked and the attacker thought he was dead, so they left him. However, he was simply knocked out cold, and when he recovered, he gained amnesia. However, instead of Phoenix, he should stay with amnesia until case 4, where he shakes it off and remembers the vital information he learned before, which he then successfully uses in that final case and exposes the attacker's dark secret.
I also think there should be a new character (not a Prosecutor, just an important figure over several cases) who should be someone from Apollo's orphanage who knows a lot more about him than he's letting on. And perhaps the fourth case should be about an unsolved murder that happened at the orphanage, that Apollo witnessed at the age of, lets say, 8 or 9, so it would re-introduce the concept of the "Statute of Limitations" into the Apollo Justice arc.
I'd be satisfied either way if we could learn more about Apollo's past.

Apollo getting amnesia in the first case is sorta OK...but not the whole game. If that happens we'll get Trucy holding Apollo's hand throughout the entire game....and I don't want to see that happen.

For this case, I think the crime should take place in his neighborhood, where apparently, he's quite the local hero. Whenever one of his neighbors talk highly of him, Apollo simply shrugs. If they take Payne outside the Prosecutor's bench, I think he has the potential to become quite a lovable character.

And it seems the first case would end prematurely, then the last case would be almost DL-6/SL-9 like in it's continuation of an earlier case.

The double was constantly switched back and forth with the real person in events under their name. No one is aware of this, except the bodyguard/higher official.

That would be quite a departure for the series, but I think it has potential. I know Payne acts like a jerk in court, but he's made sympathetic by how hopeless he is, and I think it would be interesting to bring another angle to him.

1. Ability to use the percieve system outside of the court.
-Be nice to pull the truth from people in GS5 outside of the court like how Phoenix did with the Psyche Locks.
2. Give the Judge/Winston better detailed sprites.
-If you compare their sprites to the other characters you'd see what I mean.

-I know this would be a departure from the game to, but look at the 2nd case in T&T and the whole jewel robbery. That had potential...

Agreed. I'm not really fond of the idea of Apollo getting amnesia anyway.. it's already happened once to Phoenix, and I'm sure there are plenty of alternatives.
Okay so if Apollo was fixing to expose this newly introduced character in court, but then lost his memory.... but then regained it and exposed this person in the fourth case, does that mean this person would be put on trial twice...? That just seems a little far-fetched to me. Unless it was a situation similar to Dahlia's. But having Apollo lose his memory by being struck, and then having a villain that escaped court once and then was finally caught (like Dahlia)... it's all too similar to Phoenix Wright.
Plus, I would rather not play a brain-dead Apollo throughout the entire game xD. I personally don't think he was put in the spotlight enough in AJ1, and this would just make it less likely to see his character develop.

) after his father died and Magnifi saw that he could have a heir this way, so he did everything he could just to make Polly a magician. Apollo performed as an innocent child magician starting at the age of 6 with the stage name "Red Graymare"(I'm uncreative and contradicting, so sue me XD) and was good at magic which obviously made him a hit along with the other Graymares. Although Polly was an excellent magician for a child, he hated it and did not want to carry on the Graymare name, which brought him in many conflicts with his grandfather. One day, at the age of 8, Apollo was taken to a flea market after another conflict with Magnifi, where he saw a mysterious merchant selling strange goods. When Apollo asked what the merchant was selling, the merchant immediately brought out a glass vial saying that this vial will grant all of the boy's wishes. Being the innocent boy he was, he bought it and hid it until the time was right. Then, Apollo was taken home where he was to prepare for a show. Five minutes before the boy was to go on stage, he took out the vial and drank it(You know what that means, right?) with the wish "Please let me be what I want.." And after those five minutes, he went on stage. And then the Graymares started off by making Polly do the first performance. Ten minutes passed when he started, and all of a sudden, he coughed up blood. Everything went into a panic, hospitals were being called, shocked faces everywhere. While everyone was in a panic, Apollo was just kneeling down, coughing up blood, his now blood stained white gloves covering his mouth. Instead of the intention of preventing blood from spewing, it was the intention of covering a maniac-like smile(Polly is not insane) spreading onto his lips. When the time was up, he fell with his final words, "This.. Is.. My.. Wish.." And was thought to be dead on that day.Thus concludes my *Sort of* descriptive past~ ^_^ This past calls for a fanfiction!

Sorry to quote something old, but in the Gyakuten Kenji trailer, you can(fairly)clearly see Meekins's saluting silhouette rushing past the screen. It got me about 10x more excited than I already was. :DDDDD
I don't have any canon-worthy "ideas", per se, but as for what I'd like...
Character development, fleshed-out "bonus systems"(i.e. luminol, KGK investigations, etc), and an interesting, functioning plot is all I ask for.
Ever since I realized why I despised/rejected AJ and why it's actually a wonderful new development, I think all I ask for is a working, interesting, full plot(with a few bonuses, perhaps...), nowadays. XD
Edit: ....And Meekins is not "idiot comic relief". :C At least, in MY opinion...

If they introduce an old character, say Maya for instance; yes she has no relation to him, yet. She is related to Phoenix, but isn't that more of a reason to bring her back?
