Wow, quite a good Russel T. Davies episode, as you said. (Still looking forward to Moffat taking over though).
The finale has to be good to warrant an 'end of universe' consequence. Those things don't come cheap.

BTW, I don't know anything really about the finale, but is anyone else getting the feeling this will be the last episode in which we see Daleks? There can't be any more left, and I can't believe they'll use the Temporal Shift get-out clause again.
I feel with the climactic return of Davros, it must be time the Daleks meet their maker. *shot*

I don't know how they'll start again either, but I thought that after the Master episodes too. They always think of something.
Besides they still have to do Professor River Song's timeline before Tennant leaves. We'll have to wait till 2010 to find out.

About todays episode:

Spoiler:
Was there any reason why the doctor died, instead of regenerating? (I kinda missed most of this episode due to various things that I needed to take care of. :zenitora:)

Happened too quickly. He has to have some energy left to regenerate. He died instantly from the explosion when the Eracnos died.

It's not going to be then end of the daleks, there's a clause written into the Dr. Who contract stating that they have to come back every so often.

At least, there was in the original series. Don't know about now.

Shocking, isn't it?

I liked the episode quite a bit... although I had a few problems :yuusaku:

1) How did the Space Titanic crashing destroy all of London like that? With the big nuclear bomb action? I mean, the thing was almost hollow after what the episode showed. :yuusaku:
2) How did Rose get to the 'Turn Right' universe? And why didn't it shatter the universe, like it said in the Series 2 finale?

The second one might be answered in the next episode, though.

Also, I think I saw the Paradox Machine at the end. In the BWTardis (Bad Wolf Tardis). And it's Rose's fault as well XD They are her words - as stated at the end - so she might of made a new Paradox Machine :pft:

1) It had a nuclear reactor power source. Don't forget, nothing the Doctor did in the episode happened, as the Doctor was dead. It was still full of crap.
2) Donna had created a parallel universe which I presume has breaches in it, so allowing Rose to pass into it. It wouldn't shatter the universe, as it is a different universe? Guesswork, I admit on this one.

You mean the TARDIS glowing red? I think you may be on to something there. Don't forget the original Bad Wolf was spoken by the TARDISrolled Rose, not really Rose herself. As the heart of the TARDIS is all of time, that would explain the fact the Bad Wolf is the end of the universe. Rose isn't causing it, only foreseeing it.
That's my opinion anyway.

I agree on the crap.

If the Doctor died suddenly in the explosion, then how do they have his body? :yuusaku: If he died where he was standing, he would of fallen off the rail - he was leaning forward with the controller, remember - and be flushed down the Earth =/

Also, you're right, I believe. It still doesn't explain that if the TARDIS is the center of time and all, why it might turn itself into an unstable condition/Paradox Machine because of that. Remember Father's Day? Wouldn't the TARDIS do that instead?

just think... this thread will be completely dead in 2 weeks. Back on topic, when was it said earlier in this series "there's something on your back" seeing as how this was said in the proper universe it doesn't make sense to me.

Well, the world's ending. A time rip/warp wouldn't go too amiss.

About the dead TARDIS. Doesn't Rose have her key? Once again, Father's Day. It's speculation, so *shrug*

I wonder what the blue flashes are? Rose's ones where she appears =/ And how that fortune-teller got the giant 'Time Beetle'.

@nose: Hm? If you mean why they said it, IIRC, everyone who did was psychic... Who did say that?

Spoiler: MASSIVE EP.11 SPOILER+LONG TEXT!!!
By the way i can confirm several people from the end trailer, Doctor, Donna, Martha, Rose, Sarah Jane, Captain Jack, Gwen Cooper, Luke Smith (Sarah Jane's adopted son), The Judoon, The Daleks, Harriet Jones, Some random woman with the Judoon, The Daleks, Some random American military guy.

Yeh seems like a pretty epic finale with Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sarah Jane Smith Adventures. Although they were not featured I think its pretty safe to say the rest of the Torchwood team and Sarah Jane Smith team, Maria, Luke, Clyde and K-9 will be featured too.

There were quite a few references too to them, the most obvious being the deaths of the Torchwood team and the Sarah Jane Smith team. But the whole immigrant labour camp thing freaked me out a bit, but realised it was a work of fiction and not a political statement (I hope, maybe if it was a far fetched one). But didn't the Adipoes happen in Britain?? Maybe there trying to say 16 million people in America are fat (Yay more political statements).

Anyway when Rose said Donna would die she meant the Donna from the paralel universe would die, hope that clears things up because thats what half my family were asking.

they were in america as Britain was in a state of poverty so the amount of obesity and people being able to afford weight loss programs would be minimal at best.
edit: which ones are the Judoon again? I can't remember.

@Gramorly?; Firstly, it happened in America brcause London got nuked, remember?

And it's obvious that it's the Alternate Donna that was meant to die, no offense.

That was a pretty good ep. Nice concept, though I can't help but get the feeling it's not going to tie in tremendously with the finale - that it was just coincidence that Donna got hit by the 'alternate timeline bug' just then (they mention it was working for the Trickster, a rather minor SJA villain.) Of course I'm almost certainly wrong.

On with the finale! :javado:

That beetle needs the award for the least realistic looking monster in Dr. Who ever.

It even beats the original cybermen.

I lol'd @ Logic Sword.

Also, a pretty good episode, the acting was incredible. It was creepy in all the right places, too. Plus it had THE SINGLE GREATEST ENDING EVER EVER EVER.
My only complaint is what has Miss Piper done to her upper lip? It didn't move when she talked, it was freaky as hell and hysterical at the same time. I just couldn't take her seriously whenever she opened her mouth.

Maybe shes Austin Powers in disguise, i would laugh so hard if she said shagadalic, but the UNIT guard who said the doctor was dead was the same one who was brainwashed by the Sonatarans. The whole Labour Camp thing was extremely far-fetched, the current British government would never do that

She was lisping horribly (Rose).

As for least realistic monster, I would have to disagree and go for the fish-men with spirit levels instead of mouths that just bubbled.

What were they all about?

London had been blown up, the south of England was being poisoned, there had just been an alien invasion, and the Americans, the only country who could help them, had exploded into loadsa fat creatures.

Maybe the BNP had won the last election?
Anyway, last episode was pretty good, better than the dissapointing "Midnight". I would agree with whoever said it was the best ending ever in the history of everness, except it was kind of confusing. :gregory: I think the ending of The Sound Of Drums just about beats it.
The episode's monster was an alright concept, but what was the fortune teller doing there? Rose was good, but we still don't know a) How she she can travel between universes and b) why she knows so much.

In the first Library episode:
Donna: What are we going to do, we don't have helmets?
Doctor: That's ok, we're safe anyway.
Donna: really?
Doctor: No, that was just a clever line to shut you up.

A few weeks old I know, but hilarious.

I kind of found it shocking that he wasn't in the first series to be honest, but that turned out to be the "dalek emperor", anyways looking forward to this episode, I'd like the cybermen to return in the next series, they're almost as important villain-wise as the daleks.

A new preview of TSE has been added to the website and Youtube.
Basically, Martha, Jack and Sarah Jane are freaking out cuz they heard a message from the Daleks which said "EXTERMINATE!".
And Jack and Sarah are like "Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu were all gonna die D:".
