I didn't see any cosplayers. Would have been great to see some though. There weren't that many people at all in the theater. The only thing I noticed was that it was all young people. There was a huge line outside the theater waiting for Indiana Jones when I left though.

I went and saw the movie with my friend Mimi. There were many cosplayers, especially of L and Misa. What everyone in the audience found funny was the fact that there were no subtitles for any of the Japanese wording during the movie, but during the making of bit....perfect subtitles! :gant:

the DeathNote movie was decent. I liked it. Although I would complain about accuracy, but it was well done for something that had an alternate way of making things go as they did. What I like most is the ending. It showed a rather darker side to Light that he fully intended to do what he did. If I post what he did, I'll have to spoil it.

I finished the anime a little while ago.

Am I the only one who actually liked Near?

Spoiler: Ending
I liked the ending, though I think they should have showed some of the aftermath & what happend with Misa and the whole world now that Kira/Light is dead.

And how did Mikami explode like that? Was that was Light wrote in the scrap he had? To have Mikami die by having his heart explode?

Also, did Light still have some of the notebook on him even though Near thought he didn't? Because wouldn't he forget otherwise?

Near absolutely pwning Light was awesome though.

One problem I had was that I wish they had had Ryuk talk about how the Death Note only brings misfortune or something, it would be fitting.

Death Note is awesome.

I don't think I hated Near, I just liked L and Mello a whole lot more.

Also, Superninfreak, I was kind of wondering what happened to him, too...
Spoiler:
I mean with Mikami. I'm a HUGE fan of his. [Seriously, the world needs more Mikami fans. It makes me cry. ] The anime...I feel like they really overdid his death. To put it simply, Mikami just lost his mind after seeing Raito- His God- suffer such a pitiful demise, and he *somehow* managed to get a fountain pen so far into his chest he pierced a hole in his heart or something, I dunno...

I prefer the way the manga offed him, personally.

Ya, if you pause it, Light was actually trying to write Near's name down.

Also, how did Mello actually end up helping in the end? It was kinda confusing.

Yeah, I know. I did enjoy that scene, as pathetic at it was for Light.

I'm not too sure, myself. Maybe it had to do with Mello being able to get the Death Note in the first place? Hold on, let me check his accomplishments in Thirteen.

Spoiler:
I haven't read the manga, but in the anime, it seems to be about Takada's kidnapping.

I thought of a possibility, maybe Mello thought that there might be a fake notebook, so he kidnapped Takiada, thinking that X-Kira would kill him, and for X-Kira to do that, the real notebook would have to be used, and if X-Kira was being watched at the time, then they could see him use a different notebook to kill Mello. Of course, Takada was the one that killed Mello, but I doubt he would have known about Takada being the one killing people at the time, or about being able to use ripped out pages or something, but nevertheless, the plan worked.

Something like this was completely unexpected, Mikami couldn't hide it as easily as he normally could, this would put him on the spot, and cause him to act differantly, which would catch the SPK's attention. Especially conisering that Mikami had so many patterns he followed, to break his normal routine would catch your attention if you were paying enough attention to him.

Another thing that doesn't seem to make sense, how did Takada get Mello's name? Did she have the shinigami eyes and see his face through his visor?

I would guess that Light told her during one of he and Takada's 'meetings'- I'm watchingthe anime, and that's what it looks like. Along with this, he showed her Linda's [The girl at Wammy's] drawings.

Although, Mello's got a pretty hard name. Go her for being able to spell it!

Takada doesn't have the eyes, no. The people that made the trade are Mikami, Misa[x2], Soichiro, Higuchi, and Jack Neylon [Worked for Rod Ross]

Light would know Mello's name after Mr. Yagami told him. While invading Mello's base, Soichiro could see his name with his eyes. When he was spelling it, Light could hear because he had a little transmitter in his helmet. Also, I'm unfamiliar with the episode involving the sketches. Sorry.

I like this series. I have yet to read the manga. (Planning on it.)

The anime was interesting.

I've read the novel. (Death Note Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases)
Spoiler: Spoiler for the book
The way that 'L' was described is so weird. Crawling on the floor on all fours, lying on the floor where blood was... It's. Interesting. Scared the shit out of Naomi though. Also poisoned her drink with a ton of suger. Her reaction was priceless.

And her stepping on his stomach was a really funny thought. I pictured it and just couldn't stop laughing.

Never expected BB to be him though.

I'm doing it backwards, reading the manga first and then watching the series. I know there are some differences between the two, but I'm not sure how major they are.

..Actually I think the anime was made after the manga.

I've seen the anime and have been reading the manga. I've noticed some things so far. They use flashbacks a lot more in the manga, and I think they pulled of Ray Penber's death (that doesn't count as a spoiler does it?) a little differently. The ending is also supposed to be different.

Also, I think they may have cut out some scenes in the anime.

I just posted some differances. Some things are handled differantly, the ending is differant, some scenes were cut out in the anime, some lines are differant, and the manga does flashbacks a lot more. For the most part the anime goes chronologically (for example, in the manga you have Light meet Ryuk and then he shows him all the names he's written, then it does a flashback to where he made the decision to become Kira, in the anime it doesn't skip to that point and you see Light meet Ryuk AFTER you see Light become Kira). I havn't read very far into the manga yet though.

The how to use it is still there though (I don't know if all of them are the same though). They happen before/after commercial breaks.

The General plot (other than the ending) is probably the same.

The last two episodes aired on YTV last night, and holy fuck, I've never actually sat on the edge of my seat for anything before in my life.

I'm not that big a fan of the Death Note series, but I pretty much knew almost the entire plot and every character from watching three episodes, getting a run down from my friend awhile ago who read the manga, visiting 4chan and Anime North, but I never knew how intense the series got later on.

I was in a pretty foul mood at the time, but watching the second last episode got me right out of it. It totally pumped me up on how crazy it was, and I was so infuriated when it ended on such a dramatic cliff hanger. After going downstairs to get something to eat and returning to my room, I saw them recapping what happened on the episode I just watched, squealed, then glued myself to the TV to watch one of the most incredible anime endings of all fucking time. Everything just kept piling and piling and piling upon itself until it all came crashing down, somehow falling perfectly into place to smoothly complete the series. It ended on a whisper, but in the greatest way imaginable.

It made me laugh along. :gant-clap2:
but of course I laughed at the manga ending...
It was good. not great. but better then being overdone.

But! It was epic. Did they edit Mikami's armrippoff scene? I never saw the japanese version so I dunno.
(the way they pronounced Mikami's name irritates me to no end. ITs supose to be MiKAMI. kami as in god. not MIKAmi.
am I the only one that noticed that?)
Anyway. I'm sad its done.

Misa isn't Gothic Lolita. 8D She is Punk. Dressing in short revealing outfits isn't lolita. I dress the style all the time. I think I know.

Your not the first person to think like that. I correct people every day based on that.

When I'm not in lolita, I do dress like Misa though. I'd probobly make them write lolita into the script if by some miracle they let a 13 year old girl play as a 18-something super model. With a twenty something love interest. 8D
