After coming back from vacation, this idea for this topic came along. So, what has been your favorite vacation/trip that you have ever been on?
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

San Francisco, California - Went with my friend Vicky, first time travelling without my family. 83
We had the best Chinese food ever at a little place that looked like crap (paint peeling off walls etc.) and the worst sushi ever in a place that looked good. I got sunburn at the Pride Parade and saw some things that CANNOT BE UNSEEN. Had fun riding the trolley cars, and dodging the various homeless people. Alcatraz Island smelled very strongly of rotten fish, but the prison was really interesting.

It was awesome. Things are a lot more fun when crazy crap happens. XD And OMG CAKE BATTER ICE-CREAM. @_@ You Americans are keeping all the best junk food to yourselves...

Oh, I also went to AX '07 with some friends...wasn't into Phoenix Wright back then, but looking back I did see a few Franziskas walking around. :franny: Blue wigs are pretty noticeable. And I think we were the only Brits there. XD

I'm hoping to go back someday, but flights from the UK are so expensive... x_x

Not really a vacation, more of a weekend, but when we went down to Houston for a family reunion of my mother's side. I usually hate vacations because we never do anything that interesting, but that one was OK.

I went to Puerto Rico to visit the family 2 years ago, if it wasn't for my annoying cousins, that trip would've been PERFECT.

We a lot of stuff there, but the best part had to have been the snorkling off the island. It was so pretty, and my brother and I spotted what looked like to be a chest of some sort.

The memories...

New York City for my sweet 16 party with my father (I've always been a daddy's girl.) It was seriously the best time of my life, despite all that was going on. I was spoiled - I got EVERYTHING I wanted. My little nephew was born just before my birthday, so waiting in the hospital for him to be born was quite the experience. He was so tiny and adorable, and he has the prettiest eyes ever. <3 I also got to see the other side of my family which I had enjoyed. I stayed at my grandparent's house and it's always fun being there. The only thing that sucked was that my parents were in the middle of working a divorce out, but my dad and I bonded even more during that time. It was great. My mother and I don't have the best relationship - she usually pisses me off to no end, so it was nice getting a break.

2 years ago when I went to Barcelona. Prettiest place ever, in the daytime. Not very safe at night... My only complaint is that it was too damn hot. And we also got to go to Port Aventura, a theme park, and it was awesome. There was this huge rollercoaster called Dragon Khan, and it was so cool. I had to wear high heels to get on, though. And then I sprained my ankle on the way out because the streets were cobbled. It was totally worth it.

Trip-wise, I just like driving off. Road trip sort of thing. No destination or anything. It's a sort of romantic concept in theory, but in practice, it's only been successful twice, and even then I didn't get very far. It's beautiful though, just rolling down all of the windows and indulging in the scenery. One day I plan on just sleeping in my car at a rest stop and continuing on in the morning (is that even legal? I don't know), playing vagabond-with-a-car for a few days before coming back.

Pretty recently (as in a few days ago), I attempted it. Got to the Californian border before coming back because I remembered that I had to drive my companion to work the next day. I was so ready for it though. One of these days...

If I had to pick a favorite vacation, then I guess ... whatever was my favorite trip to Disney world. What kind of kid doesn't go batshit insane over that place? I still do.

Montana trip, 1995. My brother had just come back from a trip to Washington with a friend of his and decided to take an impromptu trip to Montana; four days later, we were on the way! I love Montana and had a GREAT time there! :edgy:

Nah, and so far as I'm aware it's not even safe.

Though, going through some road trip forums, it seems that some people just ... sleep in hospital parking lots or nap on city streets in their vehicle for a few hours. Eh.

Last summer I went up to Tahoe, California with my family and the Lake Tahoe forest fire started during our stay. Way epic pics of the mountains covered in smoke, but really sad. We escaped to San Fransisco right before they closed off all the roads.
All in all, it was pretty sweet because I loved boating and lakes, and the cool ocean temps in Cali.

Also a cruise to Cancun from Galveston, TX. Free pizza and ice cream at 2am. 12 year old's dream. :>

My absolute most favorite trip was the trip I took to Japan earlier this year. I've wanted to go to Japan for FOREVER, and my dream finally came true. :edgy: We spent most of the trip in Tokyo, but I also went to Kyoto. (via the Shinkansen. I love the bullet train!) Plus, I got to go to a Gyakuten Saiban doujinshi event while I was there, so that was a bonus. :phoenix: Guh, I got to go to Akihabara, I swore that I died and went to otaku heaven. XD Now, if I had known about Otome Road before I went, that would have been even better. And I got to go to the Tokyo International Anime Fair! An event that I've always wanted to go to. ^_^ Now my husband and I are trying to move to Japan. :edgy:

I've been out of the country before, but my trip to Japan... that was just win. ^_^

Any visit to the Philippines - seeing relatives, being in my native culture, arcades that don't suck ass.

Visit to SF by CalTrain, alone - though mainly for a paper I needed to do on an exhibit at the SFMOMA. But it did give me a chance to explore SF on my own; I checked out the Metreon, a shopping mall that kicks more ass than our crappy South Bay malls, lost myself a bit in the skyscraper-lined labyrinth, and took BART for the complete hell of it.

Visit to SF with a club from college - just because I almost never go on trips more than 25 miles away from home with my friends.

Does rooming with my friends for Fanime (which was <10 miles from my house) count?

Hmmm...I went to a cottage in northern Ontario last summer with 6 friends. It's a place called Pointe au Baril, kind of in the middle of nowhere but it was a nice and quiet little place where we relaxed for 2 days. It was a short trip but the first one I've gone to with a group of friends, and we had tons of fun!

Other than that, I also enjoyed my trip to Taiwan, although it wasn't for vacation purposes. I worked there as an intern student for 4 months and though I was working, it FELT like I was on vacation. I got to travel around a lot, and since Taiwan itself is not a very big place, I got to go to so many different cities and attractions. It was one of the best experiences yet!

It makes me laugh that I live in Scotland and find the place utterly normal, whereas some people can call it their favourite holiday. Funny how the world works, eh? I don't actually think I've been to New Lanark though....That's diabolical. I'm just lazy.

Anyway, my favourite trip away was in October of last year when I travelled to Bremen for 10 days to join an international youth orchestra. It was great; even though we all spoke different languages we got along really well! It sort of made me think of music as a universal language, you know? I also got to stay with a German family, which was fun :) Unfortunately I was too nervous to speak any German in front of them, despite the fact that I've been learning it for five years.

But the most amazing thing was the beautiful cello they lent me :) Plus, we played Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony! What more could I ask for?

I live in Bandung, West Java, where terrible traffic jam happens every weekend because people come from many places (Jakarta, mostly) to get holiday..

I complained to my mom once, because she lives in Jakarta "Gee, it's like there's not enough entertainment in Jakarta.." but my mom said "Why? It's fun to go to Bandung!"

I dunno what to say. I never complained again since that day.

Now Emiko, if you don't mind me doing so, I'll be taking your job now.

*digs up topic*

Every year, since I was at the wee age of 2, me and my parents would go to this excellent resort in Lancaster, PA. It was called Willow Valley. It had a whole bunch of stuff like a bakery, an arcade, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a family diner, a corn maze, a duck pond, and a whole bunch of other stuff!

I'll miss all of that. Because back in November, they pretty much got rid of half of all that awesome stuff.

Just thinking about that place makes me wish things didn't have to change so much. :sad-maya:

In the summer of 2007 right before I started high school I went to Holland for a bowling tournament. I went by myself with other kids my age, and boy was it fun. In 10 days I got to meet hot European girls, see a gang fight outside our hotel, experience the crappy exchange rate, pay for overpriced Sprite that you couldn't refill, go sightseeing, see some bikes in aqueducts, go to the Anne Frank memorial museum, make friends, play Pokemon, watch porn with the other kids at night, take some pictures where I don't know where they went, and more stuff!

Any questions for me, just ask since I can't write/remember everything I did there.
I'm Blak, and I have shit taste.

2004 I went to Gran Canary with my mother and her then-boyfriend.
Overall, I listed the bad things in this vacation once and it really far outdid the list of good things, but it had some nice parts. Even if it was the vacation where I got a sunstroke, learned that I was probably sexually molested as a kid, entered the hotel room's living area where I was sleeping and saw it was full of bugs. We did find a nice bar-thing and there was a good musician there and we had a blackout once and we saw tons of stars...

I'd say all the times I went to Hershey Pennyslvania when I was in elementary school since every vacation I had when I lived in California was so serious because my family treats fun like serious business...Except those trips to Nevada that were pretty fun.

Hershey Park is a lovely place...And it smells like chocolate...Ugh, now I wish I could go there again. v_v;

An there is a Cashino in Reno Nevada that has games for people to win stuffed animals and such...And there are circus performances.

My favourite holiday would have to be a week we spent in Scotland back in 2008. My family and I stayed in a static caravan next to this really beautiful beach. The sand was a gorgeous white and the sea was a clear and turquoise colour. Basically it was the closest I've ever been to one of those amazing beaches you see in brochures.
