Ok, nice. I hoped a fix for this:

Why i can't close AIGE with "X"...? I need to close it with the TASK-Manager and to close like this way sucks.

Try moving the window, then clicking the X. That usually works for me.

This bug is XP's fault. On vista, when the Quit Window appears, OK = 100% sure that it will close. If it refuses to appear, just moving the window around a bit and trying again works.

I'll have to make a crappy thread change to fix this issue.

By the way, for those who can't quit even by moving it around: Just Alt+F4 it or click the icon (top left of the window) then click Close in the popup menu. Much simpler than using task manager.

The "filtering=never" doesn't seem to help. it's still all blurry here. The stretch marks on backgrounds are back too, no matter what settings i have for either "filtering" or "textureloadmode".

Loads much faster now though.

Can we get a list of usable options in the config file please KSA? So far i'm reporting the same as Serio. The blurring is still there on the backgrounds unless I use the images I made with the black bars at the bottom, but it does load faster (I assume because it's not logging).

The stretching is that pow2 issue that can only be fixed with pow2 sized textures. No matter how many exes I make, it can only be corrected by pow2 sized textures.

This new exe doesn't filter the texture on creation as it used to.
An addon (thne possible official update) with pow2 sized bgs seems the only possible solution. I wanted to not do that to keep images as smaller as possible. Maelstorm, release the resized bg pack so it can be used as addon for those with the issue.

I'll make a list later, since I'm in a hurry.

It'd be needed for more than just backgrounds sadly. The arrow buttons are also stretched weirdly, so is a lot of the stuff on the bottom screen, except they're also blurry.

Would it be possible to somehow crop an object btw? As in, create it at 256x256 size, then apply a texture to that and crop out the unused things.

I think that at the moment, the variables in the config file must remain in the same location, while the INI parser is improved and worked on.

Pow2 sized background textures

http://www.studio-amaterasu.com/storage/bg_pow2.rar

You only need to use this pack if you're having problems with stretched backgrounds on PWLib. If you don't experience this problem, you do not need this pack.

Remember to back up your original backgrounds just incase you have any issues. Seeing as I have some time this month i'll probably revise this pack later on tonight or tomorrow, adding pretty much all the backgrounds from the court-records media section.

KSA, in the pw_backgrounds file, what's the highest number of variable I can use to store the backgrounds? I'm now on "loadtexture(299,"blablabla"); ... just a bit worried incase 300+ are reserved for something else.

Edit: While testing the backgrounds it seems to have overlapped with Ema's sprite, which can't be a good thing. From the looks of it's around variable number 266 that loads Ema (am I right there?). If you only allowed 45 variables for backgrounds KSA you sorely underestimated the ammount of backgrounds in PW games XD

Could you give me a safe number to start working from for these backgrounds when you get a chance? I've almost finished the pack.

-500, -501, and lowering sounds a great range for the bgs place. Recreate the already used bgs too.
It can be good to make a function to load each bg (since loading 100+ bgs can be memory-demanding).

I didn't planned much ahead with BGs.

Texture Code 250 is the start of Ema's files.

So you want me to start at 500 upwards for BGs? Also, you want me to put the original BGs in that 500+ range also? (If I understood what you asked correctly).

When you say make a function, do you mean the bit where it says "//Use it!"? I've made a function for all the backgrounds all ready which match their file names so.. runscript("pw_usepwbgacrosroom"); will bring up Acro's room for example.

No, negative and downwards. -500, -501, -502, etc

About the function, one to use and one to load (instead of making the global initbg function. Think loading 100+ backgrounds and using only 3).

So you want me to put ALL the backgrounds starting at -500 going -501, -502 etc, including the ones you normally have there by default, right? Also, should I do an initbg function for each and every background? I've loaded pwlib with all 80+ backgrounds loaded, I noticed no performance hit or memory increase, but I guess that might just be my system..

Edit: I just did a quick test. With all the backgrounds loaded AIGE uses approximately 10mb more ram.

Yes.

I recommend loading only what you may need on AIGE, since a texture is big in memory (see BMP).

You can make the iniallgbs function, but individual initializations can be nice for those who want to limit loading what they want. It's better to not force the engine into loading things you don't need. It wastes resources.

Edit: if you did read a small comment on the pwlib.hlsl file on the initall functions, you will see a "no recommend to use this".

Loading textures comsume engine load time.

I didn't do an unload command for textures yet because I need to develop a way to prevent issues with "object A use texture K" and we unload texture K and do not inform object A that the texture is no more....

I'm pending to make the pow2 version as default.
