Update: After watching it and accepting it for it truly was, I have to say it still has flaws but I'm knocking it's original score of 4.7 up to 5.9. It was okay but I still feel it's sort of....MISSING something.

Not seen this one though, so it's difficult to judge.

Basic criticism I heard of Hancock was that the plot went downhill too fast.

meh, I give it B+ simply because it was enjoyable. note that I won't go see it again or get the DVD.

however I must give them an A+ for not giving away any good spoilers in the previews.

Maybe some people enjoyed the movie, and have different tastes than you?
I, personally, liked the movie. I thought it was perfectly fine, but, that is just my opinion.

I liked it, it was funny and funny is good :P It was well acted, had good graphics and effects, the music fitted with the theme and the characters were likable :)
The plot confused me a bit and was a bit short with few explanations.
Overall its more good than bad ^__^

It's not his opinion of the movie he's talking about, it's how the movie was presented, dipshit. He wasn't saying it sucked because of the plot or characters, he was saying it sucked because the movie was poorly made. Don't be a smartass.

This movie is about America's current state in the world, with the parallels being shown through a superhero instead.

EDIT: an allegory, rather. I thought the movie itself was okay.

not sure what idiot taught you what a plot was, or what characters are, but the OP clearly expressed his personal distaste for both. I'll keep it very simple for you and color code everything so you don't overwork yourself.

Spoiler:
Quote:
Where do I begin? First off, the whole 'Hancock is trying to find his path would be nice but it's poorly done and needed to not be a stupid '5 minutes of asking where he belongs, 10 minutes of superhero love story'.
Second off, why the heck was the guy they were apparently intending to have be the main villian aka Mr.'Look-I-have-one-hand' was almost never seen and poorly developed.
third, they put no thought into how he GOT his superpowers

and fourth, "Look at me! I'm Charlize Theron, I'm invincible." LAME.

this is a critizism of the plot

this is a critizism of the character

does everyone agree?

Contradict all you want, one thing still stands:

Calling someone a douche for something like not liking a movie is just wrong.

ah but there is a contradiction there as well. waffleman called him a douche not because of his opinion, but in the way his opinion was stated. there is a big difference between the two.

I didn't want to go see it and I liked it a lot, thought it was good untill Angel started saying "They burned our house.", "They hit you upside the hit really hard." Who the heck is they?! Beside that I'll go see it again.

Look, I have diffrent tastes, I can admit that. I admit I am being a bit of a douche, but really maybe I was just expecting too much. I think I'll try giving the movie another try tomorrow, DLH, Lolita_Kitten and Holy Hell are right, CarChaseCityMan thanks for defending me on this, but I can take it from here. T3hWaffleman, I'm okay with you not agreeing with me; but was it really necessary to call me a douche for stating an opinion? Either way I will delete my first post until I see it again.

Edit: Also, I did give it 4.7 which I consider to just be below average. I guess I should have listed some positives.

Spoiler: Positives
- It was very original
-The characters were well developed
- It was pretty funny
-I never really got bored
- The special effects were cool
- The acting is very good (Minus a couple lines, but still pretty good)

The good should outweigh the bad for me but for some reason it doesn't. A second time and maybe I will learn to appreciate it for what it really is and not what I hoped for it to be.

I saw Hancock. I didn't catch the fact that John Hancock = same guy that wrote his name huge on the Dec. of Independence until ten minutes after the movie was finished. :bellboy: Oh well... It's too bad that it's not doing better here in my town...

you are certainly entitled to your critiques; I held no enmity for your opinion. you don't need to change your views just because of us. looking back thats not even what the arguement was about. anyway I apologize for creating such a stir.

This is why I don't like reviews.

Opinionated writings with bullshit score systems.
"2.4849283 out of 10"? fuck at least keep it a WHOLE NUMBER.
Not all of us need to know someone's opinion and their scores about a certain movie, if you want to say "I didn't like this movie I think it sucks" then just SAY SO. We don't need your bullshit scores those are unnecessary.

And no I haven't seen Hancock yet. So this isn't butthurt.

Was decent, but it could've been so much more awesome with the setting given here. The first half of the film was much better than the second. Blahblahangeldemonblah.
