Sort of a random topic, but there you go.
Do you have a favorite scene in the game? Is there a certain scene that just makes your heart ache? A scene that exhilarates you when you finally nab the villain? A scene you like because it's just plain silly? Why?

Also, spoilers are inevitable in this topicc obviously, but please put them behind tags ^^;

Mine: Airport scene.
Spoiler: JFA ending
I've seen many claim that this scene was a cheep, out of character tack-on to make Franziska seem more human. That character-wise, she would never break down and cry the way she did, that it was lazily written and not led up to at all. I disagree. I think it's an incredibly special scene, and it was led to just fine. Here's why.

Franziska, for the past eighteen years of her life, had been living for the sole purpose of fulfilling an impossible ideal set by her father. Up to this point, we don't even know if she LIKES being a prosecutor. We don't know how Manfred raised her exactly. We don't know much about her at all. We can speculate...but the truth is, it's very hard to just shrug off the influence of your parents, the ideals that they've told you to be true. Franziska thinks she has to be perfect. She thinks that winning is all that matters. She doesn't really know what she's doing or why, and she doesn't have time to figure it out, as she has no childhood and was raised in sheltered isolation.

But she's human. And even if she tries her hardest to ignore it and shrug it off, affection is something she desperately needs. Her father was the only one who agrees with the way she was living her life, and he's gone, and she needs someone to tell her that she's needed, that she has a purpose besides being a perfect von Karma. Because that's not possible for her. It's obvious from the things she's said up until this scene, things such as "A prosecutor who shames themself with defeat should crawl into a hole and die" that she needs a new purpose. She feels she's worthless.

So in her life of striving for perfection, there's only been one other factor that encouraged her growth besides her father, and that's Miles. He's her brother, and unlike her father he ACTS like family, and that's something she needs. And now that one of the two only important things in her life has been destroyed, she needs to turn to the other.

Miles understands her. In this scene, Franziska needs a purpose, and he gives her that. He tells her that she can continue her path separate from her father. She can be something besides a von Karma and still be worth something.
She needs to feel equal with him. He gives her that too. He tells her that she's caught up to him, and he tells her that she's not alone.
But she also needs to not be coddled. She's very flawed. They both know this. And she needs him to be honest. She needs him to tell her that, and she needs him to tell her that she can grow past that and become her own person, but if she's going to do that she needs to try, she can't just throw in the towel (or her whip) and give up.
This is a beautiful scene because there are so many things Franziska needs, and Miles gives them to her.

She's not going to become a perfect person with good moral values after this, that's not the point. It would be cheap if after all this, changing who she was was easy and she could just come back a year later a whole new person. That's not the point of the scene. The point is that before she can change who she is, she needs to DISCOVER who she is. She can't change who Franziska is when all she knows is how a von Karma is supposed to be. When she appears in GS3, she's learning to live for herself, as herself, and this scene is the starting board for that. It's the scene where she's about to give up, but she's shown love, and she's told what she has to do, and she finally has a future as her own person.

It's the scene where she can finally become Franziska.

I liked the JFA ending too. It's more dramatic when you choice could lead to a bad outcome.

Oh wait you're talking about the airport scene.
Spoiler:
I thought the common complaint was that she had no depth. I feel that she helped at all in the case made her seem more human. So her keeping Maya's drawing was fine with me.

@ SilverZephyr - Very well put :D. I actually get teary eyed when reading that scene, always gets to me :.).

Ugh, there's so many moments I love!! But one I remember rather well is when.....

PW:AA case 4 (I think, I hope!!) spoiler!!!
Spoiler:
Phoenix explaining why he became a defense attorney to Maya & Edgeworth. Him saying he felt alone in the world at school when everyone thought he'd stolen some money, even the teacher. Made me sad....

Image
... You're kidding, right?
Huh? What do you mean?
This is your best attempt at a sig?
Uh, yeah... You don't like? I like. I think you're just green with envy.

Spoiler: JFA Case 4
The breakdown of Matt Engarde. Clawing at his face and begging for a guilty verdict because he knows he'll find no escape no matter what he pleads. He thought he had everything in the bag then his greatest weapon becomes his own downfall.

Oh cruel irony... how I stand in awe of thee.

And, the 1-4 ending. And, both 2-4 endings. All of them made me want to cry. Acro

EDIT: OH SNAP! I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING!

Spoiler: Connection between 1-4 and 2-4
Matt and Karma were both brought down by their own evidence! Agia Shock

My favourite scenes in PW:AA that resonate especially with me.

In the "Take-That!" Department...

PW:AA Case 5
Spoiler:
Nailing Gant to the wall as he admits to being the true murderer of Detective Bruce Goodman on the final day of trial and watching his meltdown!!! OH YEAH!!!! It felt SOOOOO Good! Wuhoo! Take that, you scum-sucking sidewinder!

PW:AA Case 4
Spoiler:
von Karma's headbang at the end of the trial. Nothing besides taking Gant down in Rise From The Ashes felt so good as nailing von Karma for Gregory Edgeworth's murder.

It was personally very satisfying for me since, not only do I LOATHE von Karma with a passion-and I do admit that I let the headbanging scene go on for awhile. I guess you could say it was my form of personal revenge. Edgy -but it was also satisfying to have my favourite character cleared of a crime he didn't commit...and to accept that he was NOT responsible for his father's death.*sniff* *sniff*

In one sense, it was sad but in another it was immensely uplifting as Edgeworth now knows the truth about who killed his father and he can move on with his life.

Not sure if it really counts as a scene but I always loved it:

Spoiler: 1-5
In court and the video of the "murder" in the evidence room. Meekins gets his butt handed to him in under 10 seconds by PseudoGoodman Meekins ... And the Blue Badger dancing/writhing in the middle.
Not to mention Edgeworth's "What the hell is that wriggling piece of plywood?!" comment.

That part always makes me crack up.

Plus watching Gant go ballistic at the end of the case is fun too. Gant

Too lazy... hur hur.

Ah, that part always cracks me up like none other.

Spoiler:
Maybe because I find it hilarious that everyone's all "ZOMG A VIDEO OF A REAL MURDER" and then we end up watching a few seconds of the blue badger dancing to what sounds like ice cream truck music. That and it was one of the best Edgeworth quotes in the whole game >>;

Agreed 100%. Gant

Let's see...

I loved practically all of the Jake Marshall moments. ...Yeah, I'm a sad Marshall fangirl. But I always had fun reading his text. xD

But it was fun when...

Spoiler: 1-2 Spoilers
Phoenix is about to lose the case when suddenly Mia shows up. I liked Phoenix's spazz-attack. O__o Don't know why. It was kinda dramatic yet amusing at the same time.

It's way to hard to pick just one favorite part~ Maya Fey

Spoiler: End of 1-4
When I beat the game and they showed the picture that Lotta took, it felt like everything was all resolved and it was a happy ending! I also enjoyed the part during the trial where von Karma was cornered with the metal detector, and he started banging his head on the wall. Head Bang It felt so GOOD to finally give him what he deserved. Hobohodo

Spoiler: End of 2-4
The end of the 2nd game was great, too. Getting Engarde thrown in jail, saving Maya, and that final objection...awesome.

I also liked the Fresh Prince references in 2-3. Moe Laugh

Speaking of that...

Spoiler: 1-4
I wonder if anyone in the courtroom did some raiding of von Karma's bank account account since he shot off his mouth with his "I set my ATM card's number to "0001" because I'm number one!" rant just to prove a point.

I doubt it... but still. Von Karma

It's kind of hard for me to pick a favorite scene as I haven't played the games myself, but I reember some from when my friends were playing it (and at times I would watch the majority of cases over their shoulders.) I don't really reember anything about AA, (though any part with Mia made me squee, cause I luffles her) so let's see if I remeber some of JFA:

Spoiler: JFA
Well, as my favorite character, I loved really any part with Franziska. Though, yes, she was pretty much a bitch, she's just so fun. It's so awesome to pwn her because she looks so smug, then "nuurragh!" It made anyone looking over our shoulders go "oooohhh! xD")

2-2: I really liked how Franziska and Mia just kind of start chatting a bit. "All in good spirits today?"

2-3: Fresh Prince references.

2-4: I just love Franziska's comment if you pick the wrong thing to show Shelly. "Uhh well... I was just shot..." I don't why but I just find that so funny. Also, I like how she's there when if you can't see her. And she whips the Judge, but you go to Edgeworth instead (which makes me think maybe she's next to him, which makes the E/F fangirl in me squeal.) Then of course the airport scene, because it gave us more insight into Franziska, and Miles. (and previous comment again <3).

Also, the part where Maya wakes up, calls Mia, then Pearl's there for a little and Mia comes back and is all "there's a tent!" or whatever it was; and how Gumshoe hears her. (this part I didn't see exactly, but my sister told me about it) I love how the characters know about Mia and the chaneling; I get the vibe that other shows/games would act like only select characters notice. And I love how much Mia as a rule, luff.

Yeah, you can see where my attention goes ^^; If I remember anything from AA, I'll post it here. Well, i will say that most of 1-4 was just really interesting and attention-grabing. von Karma and Yogi rule.
I draw, see?

Oh! I forgot one! 8D;

And...

Spoiler: 1-4 Spoilers
Using the metal detector to find that bullet in von Karma's shoulder. Not only was the scene kind of amusing to me, but it was also VERY satisfying. xD Not only was it the final nail in von Karma's coffin, but it took me FOREVER to figure out I had to present the metal detector. It was only until after I had used nearly all the evidence that I figured it out.

"What did I do wrong?! All I have left is this stupid metal detector! Why is it still in my evidence anyway? I only used it once- ... ... ... ...OH."

I was tired. :D;;

Spoiler:
Edgeworth's whoop. I CAN NEVER GET SICK OF THAT!! I laugh so hard evrytime I see it (I honestly need to find a screenshot of that.) Then there's also his little earthquake scene, rolling up into a ball and shivering. Those two scenes make my day.

1-5
Spoiler:
Edgeworth's "What the hell is that wriggling piece of plywood?!" comment. I was like "HOLY CRAP, HE SAID A SWEAR WORD!! ROFL" ...okay, that just totally made me sound immature I take it, but honestly I thought that was about as crazy as Jesus yelling "STFU N00B ROFLMAOLOL!"

When all "hope" is lost and you have to make a really hard desicion, then suddenly Franziska rushes into the courtroom and the greatest background music ever starts to play.

Then we have case 3-2 (only available in japanese for the moment) where I love the cutscene between the two last courtroom parts.

Supremely doubt it, as MvK would still have his bank card(s) on him.

Spoiler: Reply to the reply about the first thingy
Maybe he dropped it when he was banging his head against the wall.

The forces made his wallet fly out of his pocket. Head Bang :P

Spoiler: More scenes
Pretty much every scene with Meekins made me crack up. He is such a quirky hyperactive spaz-head... that didn't come out right.

And Oldbag's rants and raves along with the raygun of doom.

Butz <--Harry Butz... :P

Too lazy... hur hur.

I have no idea, I think it was somewhere in AA...maybe case 4? Anyway, the way Edgey yelled "WHOOOOOOOOOOP" with that look on this face made me crack up so hard. :D

Also, in JFA, when Oldbag was all "ZOMG EDGEY-POO" = Made of win.

I can't find anything other than this right now, you're probably gonna laugh at me...

Spoiler: 2-3
When Moe says he's made the decision to take over Berry Big circus as the new Ringmaster, and promised to make it the best circus ever.
I found that to be very heroic of him. :p

Spoiler:
After the ending in 2-4 where all the cast get a second to say how they are doing. I felt better that Adrian was going to be ok, Gumshoe got his job back and Shelly inviteing everybody to see his website. Also when Matt shows his real face, Shelly's 'present' and testamony in court and Matt's eventual reaction to it.

When you get the guilty verdict, I didn't realize yet that the game was going to be all dramatic about it, and I was totally prepared to reset my DS because I thought I had messed up. I'm very happy I decided to wait for it to kick me back to the title screen instead, though. :D Thank god for Larry! I literally got goosebumps from that part.
