Glad you asked; yes, I would need permission from the original spriter because I know of some artists who do not want their work on a signature/avatar/etc. without permission. Also ask them if they want credit on the signature/avatar -- I can put a URL in the background or something similar.

I'd prefer if you found me a picture to use, mainly because I don't collect fanart for the most part. It would be most helpful.

I spend awhile on these signatures for the upmost quality I can manage, so I would appreciate it if you didn't simply use the signature for only like, 2 days before changing it and throwing mine out (people have done this in the past and it can sometimes hurt my feelings). Just making sure you understand that these are a product of time and effort before expecting a signature done. :)

Well, it went a little like this.
I had to cross five blistering deserts, swim across two massive oceans with sharks and scary fish and things, make my way through a forest with hostile natives and aggressive monsters...
After a few days of traveling in the forest, about to collapse from starvation and exhaustion, I happened upon a clearing where I could see an amazing temple in the distance.
.. I entered the temple (don't ask how I got the huge door to open on its own..), and there up a magnificent staircase, I saw a shrine.
Finally, as I made my way up towards the gleaming shrine of ability, I was faced with one last task of memorizing and then reciting 5 pages worth of awful, mind-numbing poetry.
I must say, the last test of endurance almost had me.

For those of you wondering, I took my graduate exam today.
As a result, I did over 100 points better than my last attempt in June (the verbal score was so bad -__-)
Although my verbal score wasn't the highest this time around, it's higher than the required minimum score for all of the graduate schools I want to apply to. So, I'm extremely happy. Two months of studying and frustration paid off.

But I can get Phoenix pics! :D ('cause they're right here on CR) Since the sprite is so low quality, here are a few other pictures of phoenix that you could use: 1, 2, and 3. (Although you'd need to cut the desk off of 3 and cut everything else out of 2)
Any preferred size?: About 400x150. Can be different if you think it would make the sig better, tho. I trust your judgement more than mine :) (Big sigs are fine! ^_^ I'm just used to making 400x150, is all)

(Inkidentally, both my siggie and avvie were made in the dead of night, one on an archaic, why-isn't-it-dead-did-you-poke-it-with-a-stick program (signature) and the other on Elements...at around 2 AM.

And tips would be really nice and helpful :) Your sigs have all those awesome backgrounds and effects and star/spiral/plant shapy things and I have no idea how to do those at all ever
