If everyone else thinks the one-frame salute is alright, though, then I suppose I'd be alright with it...
Edit: I just figured out exactly what's bothering me. We need to add an extra frame of animation right before he begins the salute(so the frames would be neutral--then the hand appearing--then the rest of the animation). But...maybe I'm being too picky......>_<

Yeah, I know, the fingers look stupid on his right hand. I'm going to experiment a bit more with that. Maybe even just flip the left hand.
Also, if someone can send me a Sho sprite, I'll gladly make a smiley. I'm worried about spoilers... (I'm on Beat, Day 4 I think. I'm stuck on Uzuki and Whats-his-name boss.... *sob*)

This. I happen to like Don's Yoshiya the best. Nothing personal, but it just really fits Yoshiya's personality.

Lol, that's the style of the original sprites. The black border. If you're working on a dark sprite, using a black or dark background in your image program, you can't edit very clearly. Use a white background instead. And sometimes when working with transparency - it's hard to tell which pixels are there due to the colourized representation. (Like how it's grey checkerboard in the GIMP.) So avoid working against colours that blend together. You should know this by now.Makoto doesn't look like Makoto there... his hair needs moar pointy. It could also be a bit bigger, it looks VERY small. See this sheet:
Also, the nose on Makoto... I think it would look better without it. Same with your Neku - I'd also remove the nose as well on this one.
And there's still a pixel missing as it seems with Neku's hand. It looks better, but could still use a little bit of work. Something's a little off... maybe it's just a little too fast?
For Phoenix Apollo - Here's my crappy attempt at Celeste. Hopefully someone can give her better eyes, since the ones I drew in (I gave up) make her look too happy... I just can't get it right in smiley form for some reason.
I'll transparentize it later since I'm being lazy.

This may seem harsh but it's true. Your time would be better spent trying to make the smilie instead of just sitting here crying for people to do it for you when they don't seem to want to.
I wouldn't have to high of hopes that he'd even get added.
I didn't even post my TWEWY smilies in here because I don't like to post non AA smilies in this topic, I even try not to use my Don smilies in here unless I'm using them for and example of a new idea.

I still haven't fully gotten over what went on shortly before those smilies were added.
I had been posting my Don smilies in here as I made them, then got chewed out by the people who were making allot of the smilies we use now.
They went on and on about how this topic was for the PW smilies, not any other ones, so I just didn't post anything else here.
I did post them in the TWEWY topic though. But I didn't want to face the angry mob here again...
Come to think of it though... most of them (the angry mob) are "gone" now so I really shouldn't be afraid...
So... just to offer them up,

I appreciate that you tried, and you get credit for that, but unfortunately just scribbling something over a smiley base and colouring it in isn't going to cut it... the smileys all need to have shading, which is definately something these guys lack... (except for a little in Kirby, but it just doesn't look right...) and everything except the eyes and in some cases the mouth, needs a bit of outlining. It really depends on the smiley. I'd recommend looking at a reference while you're scratching as well. But then scratching is a more advanced technique, so it takes tons of practice. When you feel like you're ready to start learning/teaching yourself, and when you feel confident about being able to do so, that's when I'd start. I know I still have areas to improve in, and I'm not afraid to learn.
And the main thing is, that the smileys have to look like who they resemble... You told us that two of those blocks of pixels were Mario and Luigi... After you said that, I see the resemblence, well sort of, but I would not have guessed had you just said "Here's a few new smileys for you." When I first joined CR (I didn't really lurk) I could tell just by playing the games who each smiley was. I didn't have to mouseover anybody to see the name.
