Of course the general complaint is all the plot holes and unanswered questions. Whether they are just gonna leave it be or explain it by a sequel/spin-off/form or mechendise is up to ask.

I just finished watching the finale.

F'ING EPIC! (And I don't like using the word "epic" nilly-willy.) The only way they would've made this ending better was by:

Spoiler:
... bringing Zuko's mother back for real, not just as a reflection on Azula's deteriorated mind.

I am glad is over. Words escape me... I cannot describe how much it rocked.

Now, I know there were loose ends and what not, but I'm going to go with what I think is the vast minority (oxymoron alert!) and declare to end it right there. No side-story, no sequel, no book 4, Final Destination. It was great how it ended, and furthering it may dilute the effect.

I prefer Tokka over Sukka myself. I can't stand Suki. She's always seemed like a Mary-Sue to me.

*hides from Suki fans* Please don't hurt me.

Spoiler:
You know, there may be some things that some of us weren't happy with, but I think we can agree on a few things.

- Azula versus Zuko battle was absolutely amazing. (As was Azula versus Katara.)
- Aang versus Ozai (The Phoenix King) was equally amazing.
- Iroh is totally badass.
- Zuko reuniting with Iroh was one of the sweetest parts of the finale.
- *sniffle* Space sword and boomerang! :larry: WAAAH!

Sokka WILL force Piandao to make him a new space sword. And he'll make his dad make him a new boomerang. How can they be the BoomerAang squad without their mascot??

Spoiler:
But yes, all the battles were epic. And the recapturing of Omashu (or was it Ba Sing Se?) was epic too

I saw all of it EXCEPT THE ENDING CUZ IT WASN'T ON YOUTUBE YET!!! D:
Spoiler: The best part so far
Azule: *shoots lightning at Katara*
Zuko: *jumps in the way slo-mo* NNNOOOOOO!
Kinda one of those overused "I save you!" moments, but it was well done. ^^

Spoiler: A touching moment...
Zuko and Iroh reunite! That made me cry... Seriously, I just went bawwwww! I had to wait a few minutes to keep watching cuz I couldn't see. So sweet... And just what I've been waiting for! O YEAH!!!

OMG I'm jumping up and down in my seat RIGHT NOW waiting to see the rest! (which I promised I'd wait to see with my brother...)

Go, watch. You won't regret it.

Spoiler:
The reunion between Zuko and Iroh was one of the best moments in the finale. Now, I didn't cry at all... but I was so close right there. Iroh really deserved it.

Also, the return of Ford Cruller King Bumi was long needed. I needed more Bumi and his craziness. Way to take Omashu back by your own. I'm still on the fence as who is the better earth-bender: Bumi or Toph?

I think I may rewatch the ending, just because it was so great.

Spoiler: Which one is better...?
Between Bumi an Toph, I'd actually say Toph. She can bend metal; he can't. Metalbending aside, they're pretty evenly matched. But keep in mind Toph is 13 tops, and Bumi... at least a hundred! (No, seriously.) He's had many more years of experience which, if given to Toph, would have her wiping the floor with him any day of the week!

Gotta admit, though, they're both AWESOME! :edgy:

Spoiler: No, you're not the only one who...
...felt bad for Azule. I mean, she was already crazy, but in a way that WORKED for her, you know? The two scenes that really got me were the mirror scene and her defeat at the hands of Katara and Zuko.

Both of these scenes showed Azule crying, and it really made me realize how weak and vulnerable she really is. She was so strong this whole time, but now that her entire family has left her, she's falling apart from the inside. I dunno if it was because of her dad leaving, if she misses her mom, or if her own actions have just been eating away at her all this time. Or if it was some combination of those.

I never thought I'd say this, but... Poor Azule...

Spoiler:
You'd have to be pretty insane to fall for the whole "You can't come with me ... you have to stay behind to do this SPECIAL job which I can entrust ONLY to you." xD Totally classic.

The mirror scene was pretty intense ... actually, I really like the part where she was trying to put her hair up and got all frustrated and cut her bangs. I was just like "whoa." It didn't really upset me but it was definitely INTENSE. I can't really think of any other word to describe it. It did make me feel bad for Azula though.

Spoiler: in response to the post a page ago

Spoiler:
If I may say, I felt that the finale was a tad dissapointing. I'm sure I'm not the only one who ended up caring more for Zuko's final fight than Aang's with the Ozai. We pretty much knew Ozia was doomed as soon as Aang entered the Avatar state, as for the climax? *sigh* big deux es machina there.

Random giant Turtle: Ima gonna give you a green light!
Aang: Kayz! ^V^
Giant turtle: Sit here and the bad guy will suddenly appear.
Aang: LOLWHUT ^V^
(aang and bad guy fight. first look like bad guy win but then KAPWOW and now Aang win)
Aang: Guess what I'll use random green light thing to win! YAYZ!
(cue lights and stuff)
Aang: HOORAYZ I WIN CAUSE OF RANDOM GREEN LIGHT FROM RANDOM TURTLE THING!
(everybody says yay and the end)

The fight between Zuko and Azula, however, was the part where I cared the most. It was beautifully animated and orchistrated, the blue fire against red fire was a spectacular sight, and Azula suddenly aiming at Katara, then Zuko defending, was probably the highest point in the entire series. But then another slightly dissapointing Katara > Azula SUDDENLY FREEZE STUFF AND CHAIN HER TO RANDOM GRATE. Umm... with the comet and such, Azula should have had no problem melting herself out of that iceberg, and even when she was chained, I bet she could have simply melted the chains and continued fighting.

Oh, and Azula finally going insane was great too! ^_^

But... the movie was nigh predictable. I've seen Zuko asending to become Fire Lord for about a month now, and the series came to an end the way we all thought it would since the first episode, except for #gasp* Aang didn't ACTUALLY kill the Fire Lord. Oh wellz.

If you ask me, Ozai should have been killed off earlier on, but the job still woudn't have been done because Azula would get the throne and keep the world unbalanced, if not more so. So the last battle comes to be with Azula. Oh, and Aang should die during the Avatar state against Azula since he would get ready to re-direct lightning, but hesitate because of his belief to not kill a living thing and let the energy reach his heart. While Katara looses herself over Aang's dead body, Zuko and Azula then should have started the Ag Ne Kai (sp?), but Azula aims for Katara, which Zuko jumps in the way of. With Aang's spirit released into the spirit world, he uses the last of his power and instills it into his closest friends. Katara, the master of water. Toph, the master of Earth. And Zuko, the master of fire (giving him his spirit also saves his life). And the three battle Azula, but it is Sokka, with his sword, who finally claims her life when she backs the others into the corner. Aang gave him the last of his spirit, and since he could not airbend, Sokka becomes the next Avatar, using the last of the Earth's spirit that was in Aang in his own, continuing the cycle.

Oh, and Mai would die somehow and Zuko and Katara would FINALY be together as Fire Lord and wife. Hooray, better ending.

(please don't flame, this is just how I though it should end personally

Spoiler:
With Azula all broken up as is, I don't she's even a threat anymore, but rather, a threat for being homicidally mental. It's clear she has lost all control of her state of mind and being on what she originally was, and it's really hard to tell if she will ever gain her sanity back. Her current state would probably be locked up somewhere away from society to harm, either chronically depressed or psychotic, maybe even harming her own self with more hallucinations.

And the Sokka as the Avatar theory? Impossible entirely. Avatar's all share the same soul. There is no evidence that any Avatar has the ability to "change souls" in physical bodies, only the Fifth Element of being able to bend energy as demonstrated by Aang (who seems the only one to have done so far). It is also suggested that Sokka is probably in the White Lotus Society by now. Fate and destiny are key things in the series, Sokka would not have received the Lotus Tile as the Avatar is a higher authority beyond the White Lotus Society.

Also the creators admit their dislike of Zutara. It was just teases for fun in the series (Iroh liking the pair) hinting, but nothing canon. And well, Katara pulled the moves on Aang this time; that shows that they both accepted their relationship officially.

I think the most logical reason why Ozai was not killed (don't give me that kid's show bullshit; the series broke enough rules on Nick already and can extend further if they wanted) it gave way a chance for the Ursa question.

But I still liked Zuko's battle better than Aang's. Overall, an 8.5/10 for me.

Apparently, the series WILL go on for another 3 seasons:

Image

(Keep in mind, thought, that that was written before the 3rd Book premiered, so any changes might've happened. Dunno what they'll do, though. Focus on Zuko? Set it 100 years later with a whole new Avatar and a new conflict? An entirely new series with the same art style? Only time will tell.

They stood firm that the main series ends at Season 3. If anything and they have changed their minds on extending the series, it'd probably be something completely discontinued with the main Gaang. It wouldn't be called something like "Season 4!!!111" or anything. Something new.

I loved the ending, but...
Spoiler: ending
What happened to Zuko's moooooooooom? D: if the whole season 4 thing is true, then I'm kinda hoping for a timeskip <-- that'd kinda just be fanservice, I guess... I dunno...

But it WAS pretty epic, especially with the old men taking back Ba Sing Se and Zuko winning (I guess) against Azula. I absolutely loved how they showed Azula freaking out, and the whole "confrontation" with her mom was a nice touch (I thought she'd really come back for a sec). They left quite a few holes, but in a way I kinda like this ending, though the whole "moving island turtle... lion.... thingy that speaks" situation was a little too convenient. Still, I kinda like how Aang didn't kill the Ozai dude cuz it shows how Aang has respect for a human life (aaaaaand I've been watching too much Deathnote <_<)

So overall, awesome ending... not perfect, but still great

yes, but wouldn't it have only madde sense for her to have dies when Zuko was just a kid, i mean he was supposed to die, and the reason why is most likely because Zuko's mother sacrificed herself, and besides didn't she appear as a ghost in the finale(either that or azulla was halucenating)

Azula's craziness was the best part of it. I loved the logic that she used on the Dai Li.
Dai Li: We will never betray you!
Azula: And that's what you said to Long Feng right before you betrayed him and joined me! Bibi.
Best scene was with her mother, though. That is her character, right there, fully exposed.

And steelsushi, Azula couldn't have melted the chains or anything 'cause to use firebending, you have to be able to move your hands and stuff to let the fire out of there. No hand-moving = no fire. Although why Azula had to go into close-range fighting with Kitara, I have no idea -_-'

I was kinda surprised at the amount of Kitara/Zuko fluff in the end (not just the movie, but the past couple of episodes). I found it kinda funny since her main relationship was obviously with Aang.

The spirit-bending was a bit of a deus ex machina. I wish they hadn't made the Lion Turtle's voice so bassy so I could've actually understood it T_T Once I finally understood what happened (after the blue/orange lightshow), I thought they were going to have some stupid kiddie show "i made all ur evilz go out of j00! yay!" explanation, but just removing his firebinding was nice and elegant.

But there's just one thing I don't get: How come the mole couldn't track down Aang when he was on the Lion Turtle? I mean seriously.

I thought the series ended well, tho. Need moar deaths, tho =\ (Deaths in the series finale give super-boosts to epicness!)

Azula was just plain tragic. No friends,No one she can trust, going literally batshit crazy, and she has no closure. I freaking raged at the fact that she doesn't get closure.

Azula's craziness was the best part of it. I loved the logic that she used on the Dai Li.
Dai Li: We will never betray you!

I totally agree with this whole post.

Spoiler:
I had NO clue what the heck the turtle was saying the whole time. For all I knew he was about to eat Aang. xD

Also, now that you mention it, I have no clue why the mole couldn't figure out where Aang was.

Spoiler:
The TorterraLion (YEAH I'M STICKING TO CALL IT THIS D<) is probably the oldest creature in existence of the Avatar world. It's ancient scent probably musked Aang.

"It means he doesn't exist."

Or, only Aang can see the TorterraLion. Therefore, it doesn't exist in everyone else's minds; they probably will only see it as a normal island. So Aang disappears from the world upon contact with the thing.
