Okay..here is my problem, I recently installed Windows XP to my computer. The computer with the internet was working perfectly until the next day. In the morning, my computer started to crash, showing the Blue Screen of Death...I started to do anything I can to fix it because i think it was caused be spyware. Later on at around 7:00 PM, I found "System Recovery" and I tried it and everything worked perfectly again but the internet doesnt work....My computer says its connected but when I clicked on the internet browser, it says "Cannot Find Server". There was a $500 phone bill to vietnam someone called..We didnt pay it yet and the phone still works...If you think that that's the problem, then you are wrong. Xbox Live works perfectly when I connected it to my 360..I have DSL for internet.

When you installed XP, did you clear out your hard-drive first?

I dont think so. After the internet stopped working, the computer runs better and faster. When I let my friend borrow my computer, he setup his internet and the internet works in my computer at his house. I am still not sure what you mean by "clean out hard drive".

I dont think so. How come xbox live connection works fast? Just to let ya know, I have DSL

Ok, I dont think this will help at all but do it anyway:

Do some Disk Defragamenting
Go to to Control Panel and then Add/Remove Hardware and delete some unwanted stuff

Let us dye the world in despair, and bring a dismal end to this fairy tale.

Hmm...Okay..I got an update. I just got my computer back from my friend 2 weeks after he setup his internet on my computer. hooked up the ethernet cable to try out the internet and guess what? It worked! I didnt do any special action, I just clicked "Internet Explorer" and it worked! Any reason why it works?

What did your friend do to the computer? It'd help to get a detailed step-by-step so that we can see what was done to the computer.

My suggestions:

500$ phone bill - classic dialer trojian
Problems with internet - troj uses the full bandwith
Internet (2) - IE is vulnerable for spy ware, trojs etc. ... in the future - use Opera or Firefox.

A "What-has-he-done-with-the-PC"-List would be really helpful.
