I have to admit, I did enjoy this one quite a bit, but I enjoyed the music in this game the least in the series, mostly because of the courtroom music changing into something which I felt didn't really fit in that well. However, I did think the Detention Center theme changed for the better in JFA. I liked it better than the first game's theme.

Spoiler: Turnabout Big Top
I wanted to hit the investigations and Moe with a statue-clock two times, put them on a sharp fence, stab them with a broken spear, shoot them, throw them in a lake with a fake sea monster in it, stab them twice, push them off an upper area in a park, stab them, shoot them at point blank, throw a trophy on them, strangle and pretend to stab them, electrocute them, poison their coffee, hit them with a random desk object, poison their coffee again, stab them, hit them with an indestructible grape juice bottle, shoot them in the RIGHT temple (god I figured out that case before Apollo could even investigate the second time) shoot them, poison their stamp, shoot them in a airtight elevator, throw them on a fence again, make some suit of armour stab them, make them crash their car, gat a lion to bite them, rape them, make them hang theirselves, and not shoot them. That's all I have to say.

this pretty much sums up the whole game series.
Spoiler:
and I know what you meant by the "getting shot in the right temple thing" that turnabout felt really really really predictable.

JFA had 2 awesome, awesome cases but was let down by having probably the 2 worst cases in the trilogy.
Spoiler: 2-1
This is probably the most boring case in the trilogy. I'm glad they got more creative for the tutorial cases in game 3 and 4. The amnesia was marginally clever, but the case was still, relatively boring. Though judging by the number of people who seem to find and play game 2 first, maybe it was a good idea having such a tutorial case.

Personally, I was impatient during the first case, as when I was still playing 1-5 and mentioned to a friend it was great except that I was missing Maya, he told me Maya would come right back in game 2. So, I spent most of the case thinking 'Where is Maya?????'. The part where she comes back is the highlight of that case for me, and it happens to be the end of the case too.

Spoiler: 2-2
Personally, I adore this case, my favourite in the game and probably my 3rd favourite in the trilogy. This was fantastic for plot development of the whole Kurain subplot, how the spirit channelling and Fey family dynamics work etc. The case was interesting and Ini Miney was hilarious. And I was such a sucker for the obvious bond which had developed between Phoenix and Maya which was displayed in that case. [Also, magatama and Franziska appear!]

Spoiler: 2-3
Uh. So they went overboard in the concept that in a freak show of unlikeable characters, the 'nicer' appearing one is the actual criminal. They successfully evoked an atmosphere of discord and disturbance, and it was not fun to play. Sure, you could write an essay on its themes and symbolism or whatever, but it just wasn't fun.

Usually, the unlikeable characters are interesting or amusing in some way, but these unlikeable characters were just irritating.

Ben and Trilo - Worst. Character. Ever. Except for Zak Gramarye. This guy is creepy and Trilo is just a creepy way to express his inherent nastiness. I desperately hoped he was the murderer but it was soon clear he was not.

Moe - Ugh. I'm glad Phoenix shared the same impressions I did of his jokes. Now I heard that the Japanese version wrote Moe differently. Is this true??????? I desperately hoped he was the murderer but it was soon clear he was not.

Regina - Ew. Her 'naivety' was sooo annoying.

Spoiler: 2-4
A great case, yes. I keep meaning to replay it, as I only played once.. and I can't remember all the specific details...

I thought case 1 was decent

case 2 was ok

case 3... eww

case 4- the good thing about forgetting the details is that you can play it again!
I have played all the cases so many times I remember all the details. So, I just continue to play the games over again to read the story. Seriously, It has better plots than any of the books I've read this past year, but its only dialogue which I cant say much for since it can be called a play if you think about it.

I really didn't like JFA. At all.

Spoiler: 2-1
After Maggey fell into a plothole and he snapped his neck by falling down, crippling him, he wrote his girlfriend's name in the sand incorrectly! That makes perfect sense! :D

Spoiler: 2-2
Too unrealistic. 2 ppl go into a room, 1 is shot, the other is innocent. I mean, if it was just a little believable.... But I'll admit, this case was actually good. Not that good, but good. (ALTHOUGH IT TOOK ME FOREVER TO FIGURE OUT TO PRESENT AMI'S PROFILE FOR PEARL'S PSYCHE-LOCK)

Spoiler: 2-3
Pointless and tedious. Pretty bland and boring. And it had the million-in-one chances (of the cape just landing on the bust). Acro was annoying. (Moe was fine tho ^_^) AND THE ENDING DIDN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.
After the murder, Acro doesn't want revenge? Why? As Phoenix explains in the end, Bat is alive, after all, so there's no need for revenge. Of course BAT HAS BEEN ALIVE ALL ALONG.

Spoiler: 2-4
*hugs polkadot* Yay! I'm not the only one who didn't like this case! ^_^ This one was actually pretty bad. They teased me with 4 and 5-lock psyche-locks, when they were actually 1 and 2-lock psyche locks. That got me pissed. Plus, all the plot twists were really bad and predictable. I mean, as soon as something was mentioned (ex. fake press conference, suicide note) I could figure it out in 2 minutes, and then it took 2 hours for it to be confirmed. It was kinda obvious Maya was coming out alive (they weren't leaving the Fey clan plot unresolved!), and they spoiled the surprise of Matt Engarde being guilty ON THE FIRST DAY. (Not on the second investigation, the first, when as soon as you mention 'de Killer' he lets you become his lawyer. I mean, that doesn't immediately tell you he's guilty, but it tells you something's up when he's taking orders from the killer). Yet just the fact that it was kinda difficult, and it's the only one where your client is guilty, it should still get some merit. It doesn't. Worst case in the series, in my opinion.

I don't care if JFA set up 3-5 (which in my opinion is the best case in the series). That was only 2-2, and I don't see why how good one game is should influence how good another one is.

Spoiler: JFA 2-3
Emm... Call me crazy, but this is one of my favorite cases :yogi: . I mean, there´s a Circus, which is great, then we have a Magician, even more great, add a ventriloquist who can´t talk and a puppet with feelings, and you have an awesome case.

Yeah, Regina is just too "innocent", and Acro´s motive is just meh, but there´s nothing to do with it.

And last but not least, we have :moe:, And damn he´s good! Well, he in fact is very bad, but that´s what makes him even better than a normal clown!, and his sad carrot animation is gold (I know that nobody likes it, but I find it very funny :moe-laugh: ). So yeah, Moe is one of my favorite character, and he makes the Big Top one of my favorite cases.

and for the rest of the cases
Spoiler: JFA 1,2 and 4
2-1 was... like any introduction case, but Wellington saved it for being just totally boring.

2-2: Mostly part of the general Fey plot, an that is, nothing very interesting to me (but I must admit that the Ini-Mimi change was unexpected)

2-4: Bad case, Great villains (both The Killer and Engarde), they were the only who saved this from being totally boring... well, Andrews wasn´t bad too, but why did they put Oldbag, Lotta and Powers in the case? :sadshoe:

In general it was a good game, but not my favorite of the series...

The second case freaks me out due to a show I watched when I was very young so i have this phobia thing against plastic surgery into someone else. That wasn't something to see when you are 7 years old, but overall the case was ok.

The third case with that @$$hole named Max was by far the worst case. I tried giving him the guilty verdict 4 times :gant:

The fourth case was the best out of the four, but it was disappointing that there was only four T.T

JFA was the first game I bought and played. It's a good game but not the best in the series. There were lots of characters that I really didn't like. Max , Ben and Trilo, Moe...they were all annoying. And Lotta, and that old bag...
Don't have any good signs..
