Suddenly, he turned to Walt. Taking out a ragged book and a pen, he began to write. "Walt? Do you have any idea about what happened? He said he was carrying on Black Mesa's work, but what happened to them? I only saw chaos before the crabs came after me." he mumbled without looking up from the book, being barely audible to Walt.

EDIT: Walt sighed. He might as well tell the kid what happened. "The Black Mesa incident is what is responsible for the stat of the world. An experiment went wrong, so...Portals that were once closed are now opened. I don't like that he's continuing their work. I don't want another fiasco. However, all I can do is monitor the situation. If it looks ike it'll get dangerous, I will politely tell him to stop."

I hope he KNOWS what I mean by research ethics. These people are crazy. One slips the tongue and hides the truth like an elephant in the room, the other just wants to find out what happens by pushing. Reminds me of the two of them.

Valox rested his forehead on his hand and closed his eyes, his breathing just audible enough to both Walt and Nicholas. Walking slowly to the bedroom, he went to the closest bed to the door and jumped on the bed.

The area around my eyes was burnt, and black. The eyes had gone from their former deep blue to firey red. My pupils were fixed in one direction, and the whites were bloodshot. I replace the glasses.
" Without my sunglasses, I can only see in one direction. Anyway, back to the point. I figured that with this setup, I could reverse the portals by stabilising them, and closing them off. I went into further research, and found that there was a code, split into ten parts, each in individual labs. So far I have nine, and that is why I was at that lab."
I wheel over to a computer. " This computer has a signal that was placed into each part. It tells me the code's status."
Nine of the blips have the word 'Secure' next to them. One, however, had 'Unsecure' next to it. As I watched, that word changed.

"Hellooooooo..." came an echo from the entrance of the laboratory, shaking up a half-asleep Valox.
.... That doesn't sound like Nicholas or Walt. Must have came from the front of the lab. Don't tell me I've been discovered... The ex-Fox Cameron sure has a lot of loyalists. But, they would be very lucky to track me down here.
Immediately, the boy faded away and walked towards the centre of the laboratory, where Walt, Nicholas and Charna were.
A fine lady... Did she just come in? And Walt looks like he recognises something. Better let them sort it out in case it's them.

Does that name ring a bell for him? Fox Cameron, a long deceased assassin and head of the Ordeath. If he doesn't know, he won't even think anything of it.
The entrance still had the elevator at the bottom, making it an obvious weak point in its defense. "Shouldn't we close the elevator? Who knows what may get in here? Next guy to come in here is not likely to be friendly."

The zombie opened its hands. There was a shrunken head, and a few charms, along with some magical bracelets. "Ooh...!" Charna admired the shrunken head. "I've always wanted one of these..." She grabbed the hair of the miniature head, tying it her her belt where her collection of skulls and macabre charms hung. She put on the bracelets, and pocketed the charms. "Thats a good boy..." Charna mused petting the zombie on the head. She turned to look at the group. "This is Victor...he is my pet...do not worry...he will not harm you..I control him..."

As he turned around, he saw Charna petting a zombie. It was handing her bracelets and a small head. Suddenly thoughts of voo-doo went into Ty's head. Hes got Carribean blood in him, and he believes in that stuff, but as he took notice of the place he was in, the thoughts left him.
"What is this place, anyway?" He asked, looking around the lab.

... Finally, I remembered. Target #662, Frankenstein Murderer. Wanted by the Mayor of Taxmoore for necromancy and murder. Never even saw her before I lost my last piece of useful information. Not that I'll have any reason to rid her, the mayor already gave up on finding her. First failure ever. [Need it to be rid of/any more macabre?]
Without a word, Valox darted away from the zombie and headed towards the bedrooms. He then sat on a bed and took out his pen. "Where is Volume D... here!" Then, the boy began to write again.
Everyone here is strange... How I would love to get out of here... But then, since Nicholas is from the Black Mesa, perhaps, perhaps, I can do what I came here for. At least, I would have to try.
