I wouldn't doubt it. The Japanese cover of the first game's DS remake had the same style cover that all the JFA covers had, just with different art and characters. So they might use it just because they've already established a template.

I won't say anything bad about this one, though.
They should have crammed as many of the major characters from each case as they could, i.e. the villains, the clients, the witnesses, etc. That would look so boss!

I'm actually surprised that Chinami.... I mean DAHLIA (
) didn't end up on the cover art, which I sort of understand. But I wished they could've add a new character to the cover rather than repeat the same old characters from the two last covers. Just to show the peculiar world of the Phoenix Wright series, y'know.

I think the reason why Chinami wasn't included is because she's a villain. I mean, all previous covers only featured the protagonists for the game, (Franny wasn't much of a "villain", so she counts for the JFA cover.) so I'm guessing that's why Maya's included in this one. Besides, it's not like the previous covers have Karma, Gant, or Engarde in them, right? Putting a villain on the cover of the game would be too much of a dead giveaway.
